Chapter 2573: Chapter 2573: Crouching Dragon

As the sky darkened, Julius Reed left Drunken Man Pavilion but had no way to return early.

The injuries he had sustained were far too severe.

The Twin Dragon Jade Pendant only served to keep him awake.

But the injuries needed to heal gradually.

If it were ordinary wounds, one could simply infuse a large amount of Spiritual Power to rapidly heal in a short time.

But these injuries were different.

They were caused purely by the force of power origins.

Hurt to the core!

Recovery was definitely not a matter of a day or two.

Julius Reed left the Drunken Man Pavilion below Autumn Name Mountain, but because his cellphone was shattered by the aura of the Blood Soul Emperor, he had to temporarily take shelter in an inn at the base of the mountain.

"Sir, were you beaten up?"

The receptionist at the door saw Julius Reed covered in blood and quickly came out to greet him.

"Not too bad, got into a fight."

Julius Reed chuckled.

Just as he was about to go inside, he was stopped.

"What’s this? Not accepting guests?" Julius Reed paused and asked in confusion.

"Blind guy, let me ask you something." The receptionist stood in front of him and asked, "Did you win the fight or lose?"

"Does it matter?"

Julius Reed responded.

"I won and killed the guy. So, what’s the issue? Afraid to take me in?"

"Oh dear! How could that be!" The receptionist laughed and explained, "If you won and killed him, we naturally have no problem. But if you lost and he comes after you, will I still be able to do business? Right? Please come in, guest!"

The receptionist turned around and shouted, "Severely injured blind guy, looks like he has no money, one lower-class room!"

After speaking, he no longer paid any attention to Julius Reed.

Julius Reed sighed helplessly, feeling that he appeared so plain.

No money?

Indeed, he didn’t actually bring any money.

Oh well.

Julius Reed quickly stepped inside for a temporary rest, then borrowed a phone to call Nelson, making it much easier.

Upon entering, he immediately felt the gazes around him.

Very unfriendly.

But fortunately, these people only took a glance before ignoring him.

And continued drinking.

"I heard those guys from Black Wind Ridge want to fight us for territory? Supposedly, they’ve even dragged in people from the church?"

A martial artist in a black robe spoke unfavorably to his companion.

"Those guys from Black Wind Ridge are all useless. But those people from the church, they sound like they’re a big deal."

"But we can’t just wait and do nothing, can we? Why should we leave if they tell us to?"

The more those at the innermost table spoke, the more agitated they became.

"I say we just fight them directly! Paying protection money every day is frustrating."

"Right, those bastards are bullying us too much!"

Just as their voices were growing louder, a young lady in her twenties, wearing a white dress, came over. "We have guests, don’t be noisy. I know what to do myself."

"Yes." Although the people around were unwilling, once they saw the lady, they immediately stopped the argument.

"Guest, are you staying?"

The lady saw they weren’t arguing anymore and slowly walked up to Julius Reed, "The receptionist outside earlier arranged for you to stay in a lower-class room; actually, that was my idea. To be frank, it’s not very safe here. The lower-class room is further away, so under the circumstances where you insist on staying, it’s the safest place."

"Money isn’t anything problematic. Since you’re hurt, I’ll give you some medicine for free, just treat yourself and make sure not to die here."

After finishing, she turned and called out, "Wolong, Fengchu."

"Coming!"

A stocky and a lean man, both evidently wise, quickly approached the lady.

"Miss, what’s the matter?"

The stocky man’s clothes were embroidered with a dragon.

He should be Wolong.

The lean man’s clothes were embroidered with a phoenix, presumably Fengchu.

"Get him some medicine, watch him, and make sure he doesn’t die in our inn."

After speaking, the lady turned away.

"Brother, you’re in luck! I, a master of astronomy and geography, will treat your wounds quickly, come inside and let me help you."

The stocky man gestured, the lean man promptly went to fetch medicine.

Soon, the lean man returned with medicine, and the two led Julius Reed to the cellar of the cooking woodshed at the back.

The cellar was dark and damp, but at least there was a light.

"You’re Wolong and Fengchu?"

Julius Reed lay on the straw pile and casually asked.

"Correct. I am Wolong of the South Village!" The stocky man proudly patted his chest and began to unbutton Julius Reed’s clothes.

When seeing the dense wounds, the stocky man’s eyelid twitched.

"Brother, with over one hundred holes all over your body, how are you still alive?"

He sniffed his nose, unsure of where to start.

"Ha ha, Wolong from South Village has no skills, only knows how to boast! Watch my Horizon City’s Fengchu’s ability!"

The lean man sneered and pulled out some gray powder, gently sprinkling it on Julius Reed’s unhealed wounds.

"Can I ask, what is this stuff?"

Julius Reed smelled it and felt it was somewhat familiar.

"This is my secret concoction that can quickly relieve pain! To be honest, I’ve treated hundreds personally, and not a single person has said I’m no good."

Horizon City’s Fengchu continued sprinkling, afraid to miss a single wound.

"Why do I feel... this is gunpowder?"

Julius Reed sniffed and became more convinced it was gunpowder.

Gunpowder!

Truly, Fengchu!

"Gunpowder is also medicine, brother. Don’t judge a book by its cover, look at the results."

Fengchu was very satisfied with his work and took out a lighter from his pocket.

"I now know why you have no negative reviews."

Julius Reed sighed, "Turns out, you burned them to death."

"Hey, don’t say that, I did relieve their pain. As for dying, that’s because their abilities weren’t enough."

After saying that, Horizon City’s Fengchu lit a fire.

Whoosh!

Sparks erupted from Julius Reed’s chest.

Because Wolong and Fengchu were fully focused on the wound, their hair was all scorched.

When they managed to put out their burning hair, they found Julius Reed’s body hadn’t changed at all.

"Brother, no effect huh?" Wolong from South Village seemed amused, couldn’t help but taunt, "Ready to give up? Let me try then."

Just as he was about to start, Julius Reed grabbed his wrist.

"Shh."

Julius Reed gestured for the two of them to quiet down.

Outside, it seemed arguing had started.

"I heard you have associates saying someone got involved with the church?" He asked Wolong and Fengchu in front of him.

"Just minor issues, as long as we Wolong and Fengchu take action, what can’t we solve? Unfortunately, Miss told us to keep a low profile to avoid revealing our strength."

Wolong sighed, "Petty Black Wind Ridge thugs want to fight us for business. Who would’ve known halfway through some church guy appears."

"No major issue, once treating your wounds, I’ll go outside and settle things."

Fengchu was equally full of confidence.

Julius Reed tried to stop for a moment, confirming these two were speaking genuinely.

Entry-level martial artists indeed have courage.

"Let’s hold off on treatment, I enjoy watching the commotion, why not go out together?" He looked at the two.

"Then wait till we brothers have settled things outside, before coming back to treat your wounds!"

Wolong nodded.
