Let's Squander A Billion First!
Chapter 1714: Born in Solitude (28)
Chuzheng reached out to take it, but Mother Lu stopped her.
"You don’t even know what this thing is, and you dare to reach out for it."
"It can’t be a dead body, what are you afraid of." Chuzheng was indifferent as she picked up the cloth bundle. The pattern on it was embroidered, with some paint smudges.
Chuzheng opened the cloth bundle, inside were some strands of hair wrapped in a charm.
At first glance, this thing was definitely not good.
It seemed like some sort of curse.
Mother Lu quickly pushed it away, her face turning iron blue: "Who put this here?"
Chuzheng recalled seeing Aunt coming here alone last time, but Father Lu and Mother Lu said they hadn’t seen her.
Most likely, she was the one who placed it...
Just don’t know what the purpose is, to cause financial loss or harm.
"Bad luck! Tomorrow, mom will take you to the temple to get a peace charm."
Chuzheng wasn’t really concerned. Generally speaking, each world has its theme, and this world obviously has nothing to do with feudal superstitions, so this matter has little impact, at most, it’s just distasteful.
Chuzheng was dragged back into the house by Mother Lu, and was then watched as she washed and disinfected her hands.
Finally, thinking about it, she shoved her into the bathroom to wash herself all over.
Chuzheng: "..."
-
After taking a shower, Chuzheng took a stroll along the corridor. The house was quite old, and the corridor didn’t have surveillance. However, the household opposite installed a surveillance camera outside their door for burglary prevention.
The surveillance range happened to cover the shoe cabinet of their house.
Chuzheng knocked on the door, went inside, and asked if she could review the footage from the surveillance camera.
The homeowner was an old neighbor of Father Lu and Mother Lu and agreed to let her watch it willingly.
Chuzheng recalled the time she encountered Aunt, and soon adjusted the footage to that day.
Aunt was sneaking upstairs, heading straight for their shoe cabinet, quietly opening the shoe cabinet, and pulling something out of her bag, slipping it inside.
Although the video did not capture the whole thing, Chuzheng saw it was black.
"Thank you."
Chuzheng finished watching the footage and left the neighbor’s house, contemplating how to scare Aunt’s family.
Before leaving, she had to give a small farewell gift, which is the kind of self-cultivation a good person should have.
[...] Self-cultivation my ass!
Chuzheng hired someone to periodically drop items into Aunt’s house, not to prevent her from discovering them, but to ensure that she saw them every day.
If only to disgust her to death.
And so, Aunt’s family lived in chaos, crying and cursing every day.
-
Chuzheng lay on Sang Yu’s bed, flipping through a photo album while Sang Yu sat beside her editing pictures, creating a pleasant atmosphere.
Sang Yu edited a few pictures, got up to pour a glass of water, and handed it to Chuzheng first: "Bored?"
Chuzheng shook her head, closed the photo album, and climbed up from the bed: "When school starts, I’ll be going to another city, you’re coming with me."
Sang Yu pondered over her words; it wasn’t a request for his opinion, just a notice that he would accompany her.
Sang Yu sat back down: "Okay."
He could do his job anywhere.
Chuzheng initially thought she would have to exert some effort to persuade, but unexpectedly, Sang Yu agreed so quickly that her prepared lines had no room to be used.
She took a sip of water in annoyance, watching Sang Yu work.
Chuzheng sat by, looking here and there, glancing at her phone, feeling rather bored.
Chuzheng walked behind Sang Yu, suddenly reached out and hugged him.
Sang Yu’s hand twitched, not knowing where he clicked; the image blurred a bit.
Sang Yu let go of the mouse: "What’s wrong?"
Chuzheng didn’t answer him, Sang Yu gave her a puzzled sidelong glance, and before he could see clearly, her lips sealed his.
Sang Yu: "..."
-
Sang Yu changed clothes and came out, Chuzheng sat at the table flipping through his photos, Sang Yu walked over and picked her up in his arms: "Stop fooling around, I have to finish editing these photos by tomorrow."
"Oh."
Chuzheng leaned against him without speaking. Sang Yu continued working with her in his embrace, and bored, Chuzheng eventually closed her eyes to sleep.
The ringing woke Chuzheng up.
Sang Yu was answering a call. On the other end was a girl, her sweet voice was enough to melt hearts even through the phone.
Seeing she was awake, Sang Yu lowered his head to kiss her forehead lightly: "Sorry, I can’t go today, I’m with my girlfriend."
The other end was silent for a few seconds, then hung up the phone.
"Who was it?"
"A girl I met through work, asking me out for a meal." Sang Yu was honest.
"You’re not going?"
"..."
Would he dare go?
Of course, Sang Yu had no inclination anyway. Otherwise, with his looks, he wouldn’t know how many people would be willing to come forward.
Sang Yu curled his fingers and playfully tapped her nose: "I don’t like her, why would I go."
"Do you like me?"
Sang Yu looked at the girl in his arms, her question too honest and straightforward, as if asking him if he liked the food today.
After a while, Chuzheng heard his voice beside her ear: "Like you."
-
As the school year approached, Father Lu and Mother Lu had tidied up almost everything; it was just a matter of going over directly.
Bai Dongai also had to go report to school, and before leaving, he called Chuzheng to go out for a meal.
Chuzheng thought about it and eventually went.
Bai Dongai didn’t say much, he just advised her to take care of herself, saying he’d visit her when he had time.
When parting, Bai Dongai seemed to want to give her something, but upon seeing Sang Yu come to pick her up, he put it back.
"I’m leaving; no need to see me off tomorrow. Brother’s afraid you’ll cry, it would be unsightly."
Chuzheng: "..." You’re overthinking, I had no plans to see you off, accepting this invitation has already given you enough face.
If Bai Dongai knew what Chuzheng was thinking, he’d probably be enraged to the point of vomiting blood.
Bai Dongai walked past Sang Yu, paused briefly, glanced sideways at Sang Yu: "Take good care of her. If you dare bully her, I won’t let you off easy."
Bai Dongai didn’t wait for Sang Yu’s response, and left briskly.
Chuzheng followed a step slower: "What did he say to you?"
Sang Yu put his arm around her: "Nothing."
-
Sang Yu had to quit his current job to move to another city.
Maybe it was due to his good skills; the other party even introduced him to a new job, Sang Yu thought he was lucky, unaware of Chuzheng behind the scenes facilitating.
After getting there, Sang Yu was busy settling in, and Chuzheng was busy starting school, so they weren’t entangled together.
A beauty like Chuzheng became the center of attention upon entering the school.
But everyone could only watch, as this lady was dropped off by Sang Yu at the start, and occasionally seen waiting to pick her up outside. 𝒇𝙧𝙚𝓮𝙬𝙚𝓫𝒏𝓸𝓿𝓮𝒍.𝓬𝙤𝓶
At first, they consoled themselves, thinking it might be her brother, relatives, but soon, someone saw Sang Yu voluntarily kissing Chuzheng.
While forehead and cheek kisses could be debated, there was no denying the romantic kiss between a couple.
Sang Yu initiated the kiss in front of so many people, undeniably asserting his claim.
In a school full of people, who knows if his girl might get tired of him one day and fancy someone else.
The fact that Chuzheng and Sang Yu were dating was soon discovered by Father Lu.
Father Lu’s expression was exactly like Bai Dongai’s back then, as if a carefully raised flower at home had been ruined by a pig outside.
But Father Lu didn’t oppose; he just reminded her to protect herself and not easily believe men’s sweet lies.
