Leveling Up Alongside My Plant Legion
Chapter 33: Perilous Situation
The Tundra Wolf’s body seemed to simmer with lightning, and sparks went wild around it. Its entire vestige began to change. Its body grew bigger, and the bluish fur slowly turned into a darker violet shade, giving it a more terrifying appearance.
A deep and dreary howl erupted from its throat. The sound shook the surroundings and sent a strong pressure through the air that made everyone stiffen.
Just one look was enough to tell the difference in strength.
"Holy shit!"
"Goddamn it... I didn’t know the difference between Lv9 and Lv10 was so much."
"Let’s use this chance to attack!" someone shouted from the back.
A few awakeners who had long-range attacks quickly reacted and launched their skills.
Ren and Mira did the same without hesitation. Ren drew his bow and released arrows rapidly, while Mira, supported by Kellar, formed glowing circles and cast her spells forward.
Reigns clenched his jaw and raised his hand again. He summoned the remaining Splash Shooters and poured some mana into bringing back a few more.
Swoosh!
Dozens of Splash Shooters appeared around him, forming a rough line in front.
"Fire!" he shouted.
The shooters responded instantly.
POPPPPP!
SWISH!
A barrage of attacks shot forward. Arrows, flames, and energy blasts all slammed toward the Tundra Wolf at once. The air shook from the force of so many attacks hitting together.
For a brief moment, everyone held their breath.
If this worked, they could kill it and level up.
But in the next moment the body of the Tundra Wolf began to glow.
A faint light spread across its fur. Then suddenly a blinding flash erupted from its body. The light expanded outward like a shockwave.
It was a lightning blast skill with a wide area effect, and it spread across the battlefield instantly.
"Ahhh!"
Screams erupted everywhere as the lightning splashed across the awakeners. Bodies jerked violently as the current ran through them, and several were thrown off their feet.
"Kellar!" Reigns shouted as he rushed toward him and jumped behind his shield. He dropped Lira who squeezed behind the men.
Kellar reacted immediately. He slammed his shield into the ground with force.
"Everyone brace for impact."
Arvin and Ren grabbed onto Kellar’s shoulders from behind, trying to provide whatever little support they could.
A faint barrier formed around them. But it was not enough. The lightning blast hit the shield.
For a moment, it held but it was only for a moment as the very next instant,a deafening shock spread out.
The force exploded outward, and everyone was blasted away.
Reigns felt his body lifted off the ground and thrown back violently. He hit the ground hard and rolled across it, his body crashing into dirt and debris.
Pain spread through him, and his vision went dark for a brief moment. He did not know how long he was out.Slowly, he forced his eyes open.
Everything looked blurry.
He blinked a few times and tried to focus, and then he realized he was lying on a pile of dirt. His body felt heavy, and a strange tingling sensation spread across his limbs.
It was hard to move. His fingers twitched slightly, but that was all.
The vision slowly returned but seeing the scene infront,he wished it didn’t.
The Tundra Wolf.
It was walking slowly toward him.
Around him, several others were lying on the ground in different places. Some were not moving, and others were struggling weakly.
But the wolf was coming toward him.
For a moment, Reigns thought it might not be targeting him.
But he was wrong.
It kept coming straight at him.
"Hiyaaa!" Reigns gritted his teeth and tried to move, but his body did not respond.
He froze in disbelief.
He quickly assessed his condition. He could feel pain, but it was not severe enough to stop him completely.
So why?
"Why can’t I move?"
"Damn it... What’s going on?"
His mind raced as he tried to understand.
"What kind of skill is it?"
He forced himself to think even as the wolf got closer.
Then a sudden thought crossed his mind.
Stun?
Is it possible... an aftermath stunning effect? 𝙛𝓻𝒆𝓮𝒘𝙚𝙗𝒏𝙤𝙫𝓮𝒍.𝓬𝒐𝙢
His breathing grew heavier as he stared at the approaching beast, and his body still refused to respond.
The Tundra Wolf seemed to lock onto Reigns for some reason, and its eyes narrowed as they fixed on him. In the next moment, it started moving again, and lightning began to simmer around its body while growing more intense with each step. The air around it crackled loudly, and it was clear that it was preparing for another blast.
Reigns’ heart sank as he watched it approach.
The earlier attack had already destroyed most of his Splash Shooters, leaving only two behind, and even they were barely holding on. Still, he forced his voice out through clenched teeth and shouted,
"Shoot!"
The two Splash Shooters responded immediately, and two energy orbs shot forward and struck the Tundra Wolf.
Pop! Pop!
But there was almost no effect, and the Tundra Wolf continued walking forward casually as if it was taking a slow stroll while letting the attacks hit its body without even flinching.
"Damnnnn!"
"This guy is a menace!"
Reigns cursed as he gritted his teeth tightly, and then he forced his trembling body to move using sheer willpower. His muscles twitched uncontrollably, but he still managed to drag himself forward little by little.
Slowly, he began to crawl.
Each movement felt heavy and painful, and his breathing grew rough, but he did not stop. His eyes locked onto his scythe lying a short distance away, and he focused on it with everything he had.
If he could just reach it, then he might be able to attack with the element of surprise.
But just as he stretched his hand forward, a bolt of lightning struck the ground right in front of him.
"Grughhhmmm!"
His body convulsed violently like a vibrator as the shock ran through him, and pain spread across his nerves, making it even harder to move.
Through the pain, he forced himself to lift his head slightly.
He saw it.
The Tundra Wolf was watching him.
A faint grin formed on its face as it exposed its eerie fangs, and it looked almost like it was enjoying this moment. That sight sent a chill down his spine, and for a brief moment, the wolf stopped moving and simply stared at him.
It stood there as if it was savoring the fear and pain in its prey’s eyes.
After relishing the moment to its heart’s content, it finally moved again and jumped forward.
Its massive maw opened wide, aiming to crush him in a single bite.
Reigns stared at it, and for a moment, he thought it was over. He could feel it clearly because there was no way to dodge in his current state.
Dying was not the end, and he could just respawn, but still, he was unwilling to die like this and lose half of his lifespan.
But since it had come to this, Reigns gritted his teeth, and with his trembling arm, he slowly raised his hand and showed a middle finger.
"Come here bastard!"
The Tundra Wolf crossed several meters in an instant and arrived right in front of him, and then it lowered its head as it prepared to bite.
But just before it could bite...
CRANNNG!
Just an inch away from Reigns, an ice lance slammed into the ground with force, and the sudden impact made the Tundra Wolf stop abruptly.
Before it could understand what had happened, a furious scream tore across the battlefield.
"Get the hell away from my darling!"
