Sydney Sullivan had already walked to the front of the group in an instant.

Leah Rivers braced herself, holding her breath, ready to confront her directly. But who would have thought Sydney would walk up to Benjamin Sinclair, act as if Natasha Phillips didn’t exist, and directly ask Benjamin, "Where’s Adam?"

"Over there." Benjamin looked at her with a complex expression, hesitating for a moment before speaking.

Sydney glanced in Adam’s direction, brushed past him, and went straight to find Adam and the others.

Natasha Phillips felt as if she had been slapped in public, her face alternating between red and pale, almost unable to control the grimace on her face.

What did Sydney Sullivan mean by this, was she ignoring her?

Benjamin Sinclair watched Sydney walk away, hesitated for a moment, then turned to Natasha and said, "You should head home for today. Didn’t you say you wanted to invite Old Lord Lawrence to be a witness at Alexander’s wedding? I’ll visit the Lawrence Family another day and see if Old Lord Lawrence is willing to come."

Natasha quickly lifted her head to look at him. Even though she expected that he would ask her to leave, being dismissed in front of so many people still made her feel humiliated.

Benjamin gazed into her autumn-like, wounded eyes, but, despite feeling sorry, he averted his eyes, unwilling to meet her gaze.

Seeing the man in front of her turn away, Natasha knew she had no choice but to leave. She bit her lip in reluctance and forced a smile, "There’s nothing between Alexander and me. Just do as you see fit. If you can invite Old Master Lawrence, that would be great. If he’s too busy, that’s okay too."

The reason she wanted Benjamin to invite Old Master Lawrence was that the Sinclairs and the Lawrences were long-time family friends.

Compared to the Sinclairs, the Lawrence Family had a higher status and was one of the top super wealthy globally. If Alexander Sinclair could have such a distinguished person at his wedding, it would boost his reputation, and she could use this to give the Sullivans and Sydney a blow.

Of course, as eager as she was to attach herself to the Lawrence Family, she wasn’t foolish enough to show this in front of Benjamin Sinclair. She managed her demeanor and tone well, appearing gentle, caring, and understanding, creating a stark contrast with Sydney Sullivan’s arrogance.

Sure enough, Benjamin looked at her again, feeling more guilty, and said, "Don’t worry, I won’t neglect you and your child."

"Mm." She nodded heavily, with tears subtly glistening in her eyes, as if quite moved by his promise of protection, her frail appearance perfectly stimulating a man’s protective instincts.

Benjamin took a deeper breath, his brows furrowing slightly, as he glanced back towards Sydney Sullivan, his eyes showing some dissatisfaction.

Didn’t she say earlier that she wouldn’t come today? Why did she change her mind and come over without even informing him?

Natasha, on this side, showed a helpless expression, gently disengaging Leah Rivers’ hold and softly said, "Leah, Auntie really can’t stay with you today. Why don’t you stay here while Auntie goes back first?"

Leah Rivers had specifically called her over, so how could she let her leave? She decisively re-hooked her arm around Natasha’s and pouted, "No, I want Auntie to stay with me."

"But..." Natasha glanced subtly towards Benjamin, looking troubled as she furrowed her brows.

Leah immediately understood what she meant, stepped forward, and raised her voice to Benjamin, "Uncle Adam, didn’t you just promise me that Auntie would stay with me? Why are you sending her away now?"
