Chapter 58: Always Bought An Extra For A Girl

Andrew and Scarlett took the subway together to go shopping.

Andrew had originally thought these local specialties would only be sold in century-old workshops.

To his surprise, those Pastries were even available in the supermarket.

Looking at the exquisite packaging of the pastries, Andrew couldn’t help but complain as he held them, "I didn’t expect the specialties my Older Sister wanted could be bought in a supermarket."

"There used to be an elderly couple near my grandmother’s house who made these pastries, but later they got too old to do it. Now, these pastries are no longer handmade."

Scarlett also liked eating Daoxiang Pastries, but those from other places weren’t authentic; some just tasted like ordinary pastries.

Andrew casually picked up a box and put it in the shopping cart, then continued browsing the supermarket, picking up anything he hadn’t seen much before.

Scarlett didn’t take anything this time, as she was just accompanying Andrew to help him buy things for others.

But as they wandered, Scarlett saw that Andrew was only taking one of everything in the cart, and she couldn’t help but pout, feeling a bit unhappy.

How does this Little Fellow only know to buy for his sister and not for me? Not even one thing.

"Scar, is this Braised Meat Hock tasty?"

Andrew picked up a pack of Braised Meat Hock and asked Scarlett.

When he turned around, he saw Scarlett pouting, muttering an answer in dissatisfaction.

"I don’t know."

Scarlett’s tone didn’t have a cold or angry feel; instead, she sounded like a sulky, unhappy young girl.

"Huh???"

Andrew was a bit dazed. It was the first time he had seen Scarlett show such an expression, "Scar, what’s wrong?"

Scarlett continued to pout, her small mouth puffing out as she whispered a reply, "It’s nothing."

Truth be told, Scarlett became especially cute like this. Andrew even wanted to poke that pouting little mouth.

However, Andrew was still very confused about why Scarlett was angry. Everything was fine just a moment ago; why did she suddenly become unhappy?

"Are you done buying? You’ve already bought so much."

Scarlett looked at the many snacks in the shopping cart, all of which only had one of each, and she felt a sour sensation in her heart.

She didn’t know why she was like this, but the thought of Andrew only buying food for another girl and not a single thing for her made her unhappy, even if that girl was Andrew’s biological sister.

"I’m done. Scar, do you want anything?" Andrew said while thinking

.

"No." 𝙛𝒓𝒆𝙚𝒘𝒆𝓫𝙣𝓸𝙫𝓮𝒍.𝒄𝒐𝓶

"Then shall we go check out?" Scarlett said nothing more and started walking toward the checkout counter.

Andrew followed beside her, his mind racing: Scarlett doesn’t want to buy anything to eat? Then why is she angry?

Suddenly, Andrew recalled that Scarlett had been staring at the shopping cart, and he had only bought one of everything inside.

Could it be that Scarlett also wanted some snacks? Then why did she say she didn’t want anything just now?

Could it be...

Andrew suddenly left the cart and said to Scarlett, "Teacher, wait for me a moment. I missed a few things."

Right after speaking, Andrew hurriedly ran off before Scarlett could even call him back

.

"What else is he buying? Isn’t this much enough for his sister?"

Scarlett sighed.

Andrew soon returned to the vicinity of the checkout counter, holding an extra box of pastries in his hand.

Scarlett didn’t think much of it, assuming Catherine had asked for another portion and that’s why Andrew went to get it.

After checking out, Scarlett’s mood shifted from unhappiness to disappointment.

Forget it, Andrew and his sister grew up together, so they must have a good relationship. It’s normal that he didn’t think of me.

Scarlett comforted herself in her heart.

After walking back, she returned to her computer, preparing to continue working.

Suddenly, a fragrance wafted over. Scarlett snapped out of it and looked over.

She saw Andrew crouching beside her, handing over a box of pastries with a grin.

"Hehe, Scar, want some afternoon tea?"

Scarlett was stunned for a moment and said slowly, "Isn’t this what you bought for your sister? Why did you open it?"

"It’s not all for her. This portion is for you, Scar."

Hearing Andrew’s playful answer, Scarlett’s heart was filled with unexpected joy.

A smile had already appeared on that beautiful face, but she seemingly didn’t want Andrew to see her happy mood, so she pursed her lips to hold back the smile, but she couldn’t suppress the corners of her mouth no matter what.

So Scarlett put on a facade of not being happy and tried her best to say in a cold voice, "I didn’t ask you to buy it; you bought it for me yourself."

But her acting was too poor; halfway through the sentence, the corners of her mouth had already curled up.

Andrew could see that Scarlett’s anger had completely vanished, and he playfully reminded her.

"Scar, holding back a smile is bad for your health."

"I am not holding back a smile."

"But the corners of your mouth are already upturned."

"I am not."

Having been exposed by Andrew, Scarlett felt a bit of shame turning into anger and directly brought out her trump card, "Do you want me to let your sister see that ’suicide note’ full of secrets you wrote?"

"Don’t! Scar, I was wrong." Andrew instantly became well-behaved.

"Then go out and play by yourself. I need to work, don’t disturb me."

Scarlett tried her best to hold back her laughter and keep a serious tone as she said this.

"Oh."

After watching Andrew leave the bedroom, Scarlett finally didn’t have to hold back anymore and grinned.

"Heh, this Little Fellow actually remembered to buy me food. For the sake of the pastries he bought me, I’ll make the punishment I planned for him yesterday a bit lighter."

After saying this with a light laugh, Scarlett picked up a pastry from the table and took a bite.

She didn’t know if it was an illusion, but she felt that the pastries this time tasted even better than the ones she had bought before.

---

In the evening, after the two of them finished washing up, Scarlett told Andrew to pack up his luggage.

"Why do I need to pack my luggage?" Andrew asked in confusion.

"Tomorrow and the day after, I’ll take you around the Capital. On the fourth day, we’ll return to Blackthorn. There will be too many people if we go back during the last two days of the holiday, and there aren’t many more places to visit in the Capital anyway."

Scarlett had only come back this time to see how her grandmother was doing, given her old age.

Now that she saw Janet was in good health, and also to avoid running into those relatives she didn’t want to see, Scarlett was ready to leave.

"Oh."

Andrew packed his luggage, while also putting the things he bought for Catherine into the suitcase.

But there seemed to be a bit too much, and his suitcase couldn’t fit it all.

Seeing this, Scarlett said to Andrew, "Put what won’t fit into my suitcase; I still have quite a bit of empty space here."

"Then thank you, Scar."

"Don’t always thank me, it’s useless."

Scarlett didn’t like hearing Andrew say thank you to her; she always felt it created a distance between them.

"Then what should I say?"

"You might as well compliment me a couple of times on being beautiful."

Scarlett didn’t care at all when others complimented her beauty, but when Andrew did, she was very happy to hear it.
