Living With My Yandere Professor
Chapter 83: Meeting With New Members
This weekend, Andrew also had to go out.
Things were already quite busy after the holiday ended, and these last few days being dragged along by Scarlett for review sessions meant even more work piled up.
He first met up with Mark Vane and had lunch with two newly recruited employees.
The man was named Gary, a dorm mate of Mark Vane’s. His main task was to look for bugs in the Luna app, and manage the website code and design alongside Mark Vane, essentially serving as grunt labor Mark Vane had pulled in for himself.
The other person was a girl named Hannah. She wore a pair of large, square-rimmed glasses, giving off the immediate impression of a quiet, top-tier student.
Her main responsibility was operations. The campus e-sports event that Andrew needed to promote recently was actually organized by Hannah.
The four arrived at a restaurant. Andrew took the menu and started ordering.
"Roast Prime Rib, Lobster Thermidor, Beef Wellington, Truffle Mushroom Soup..."
Listening to the dishes Andrew named, Mark Vane and the other two looked incredibly excited.
"I really didn’t expect our boss to be so generous! For the first meal he treats us to, he’s ordering all the best dishes!" Hannah couldn’t help but exclaim.
Many of the dishes Andrew listed were things they had only seen online, never actually tasted.
After listing more than a dozen high-end, famous dishes, Andrew calmly handed the menu back to the waiter.
"And also, a fresh-cut salmon platter. Actually... forget everything I just ordered. Just bring one of everything else on the menu."
Waiter, "????"
Hannah, "..."
Mark Vane was also speechless, but at the same time, this felt exactly like the Andrew he knew.
Still, none of them complained, there were already so many dishes that the cost was definitely not small anyway.
While eating and chatting, Andrew asked Hannah in detail how she managed the promotion, as the results were very good.
He had prepared twenty slots for teams, originally hoping that ten teams signing up would meet the goal, but unexpectedly, the sign-ups had already exceeded that number.
"Boss, while promoting offline, I also spent some money online, using short videos for promotion."
"Can short video promotion be that effective?" Andrew had previously used short videos for promotion, but even after paying for traffic, it hadn’t made much of a splash. Moreover, since he currently only planned to promote his App and website within Blackthorn City, he stopped using short video promotion.
Seeing Andrew’s confusion, Hannah explained seriously, "This actually relates to the short video account. My account had some special promotions done before. The videos I post are automatically pushed to university students nearby."
Andrew listened and slowly nodded, while also being a bit curious, "What did you use your short video account to promote before?"
"That..." Hannah looked a bit awkward.
At this moment, Mark Vane, sitting next to Andrew, leaned over and whispered in his ear, "Hannah was tricked into a pyramid scheme organization a while ago. It was the Counselor who reported it and got her out. By the time she was rescued, she was nearly in the management tier of the pyramid scheme organization."
"Good heavens!!!"
Indeed, the strong never complain about their environment. This Hannah, who looked quiet on the surface, turned out to be quite the character.
Hannah coughed lightly to ease the awkwardness, then continued speaking to Andrew, "Boss, if you want to further promote the website to attract investment, you can make good use of this campus e-sports event by live-streaming the entire competition."
"Done." Andrew agreed without a second thought. With such a talented promoter, why would he interfere?
At this point, Hannah adjusted her glasses and slowly spoke, "However, Boss, doing live streaming traffic promotion requires quite a bit of funding."
Andrew’s eyebrow twitched upon hearing this, ’So this was the real objective.’
But this time he didn’t say much, directly giving Hannah five thousand for buying traffic, "You should open a new short video account for daily use. This current account of yours will be used as our official account."
"Okay! Boss, I guarantee I will promote it thoroughly for you."
Seeing Andrew agree to transfer the money so readily, Mark Vane was confused. Why was the treatment difference between employees so large?
"Boss, why did you instantly agree to Hannah’s funding request?" Mark Vane asked quietly.
Andrew patted Mark Vane’s shoulder meaningfully after hearing this, "Hey, she’s the one handling our promotion. This funding is necessary. The funds you requested are things we can endure for a while. There’s no other way; we’re just starting out and tight on cash."
"Alright then."
One reason Andrew held onto his money tightly was that he genuinely didn’t have much. The second was that he was uneasy. People are prone to greed; sometimes he would even think about using the money borrowed from Scarlett to buy things.
If he gave money away carelessly, it would inevitably cause Mark Vane and the others to become dependent, constantly asking him, the boss, for this and that. He wasn’t running a charity.
As for being so prompt with Hannah, she was someone who could thrive even within a pyramid scheme organization, so she definitely had a concept and consideration for money.
After lunch, Andrew also instructed the three, "The weather is about to turn cold; remember to keep warm."
For a moment, the three felt quite touched. Their boss was too considerate.
In reality, however, Andrew was afraid they would catch a cold and then no one would be able to work.
Andrew walked back to the complex. On his phone, he was looking at the participating teams for the campus e-sports event.
Their skill levels varied greatly. There were some like Tony, pure Iron ranks just filling a slot, and also a few pros who could reach the Mythic Empowerment rank.
Actually, Andrew wanted to play too, but since he was the organizer, participating in the competition would inevitably lead to gossip.
As he was walking to the entrance of the complex, a familiar figure near the small convenience store caught Andrew’s eye.
The person was wearing a fluffy white onesie, with the hood pulled over their head, and a pair of thick, gray-white cotton slippers on their feet.
The hood of the onesie even had two rounded bear ears, and there was a short bear tail decoration on the back. In their hand, they held many snacks, placing them one by one onto the counter, looking like a polar bear hoarding winter food, adorable.
Is that Scarlett? No way?
Andrew walked over curiously and took a closer look. This cute ’polar bear’ was indeed Professor Scarlett.
"Scar, why are you out wearing your pajamas?" Andrew approached Scarlett and asked.
"I was hungry and came out to buy food," Scarlett said expressionlessly, sticking her small hand out from the fluffy sleeve cuffs to put the food she bought into a plastic bag, one item at a time.
"Then why didn’t you order takeout?"
"I didn’t know what to eat," Scarlett said flatly, never looking at Andrew, appearing somewhat unhappy, like a small bear sulking.
Although Andrew was a bit puzzled, he now knew how to coax Professor Scarlett.
"Scar, should I go back and make what you want to eat?" As soon as the words fell, Scarlett, who had been looking down, instantly turned around, blinking her big eyes, looking at Andrew with a ’sparkle sparkle’ expression, as if asking.
Really?
