The battle drums outside started beating again, this time with an even more intense rhythm, right after they had gone back.

Wu Qingcheng, Lei Ming, and the rest of the Tiger Mercenary gathered at the plaza before the mountain fortress.

Ye Tiandao came to inform Wu Qingcheng and the others, "The master has sent word, that five thousand Demi-Beasts are heading our way in the night and will arrive before dawn."

"At the appointed time, Su Miaoyin will initiate the first sound wave attack with Scorch’s illusionary attack as a follow-up, while the others charge into the fight."

"Wu Qingcheng, you are to stay in the fortress with the Vermilion Bird, Lei Ming, Dragon Lady, White Tiger, Vespera, and the Tiger Mercenary. The Vespera will use his stealth ability to stand guard."

"The rest of us would meet the enemy outside. All Demons must manifest in their Demon forms. No human forms are allowed."

Scorch, clean up the post and the blood traces from last night’s flogging, leave no hint."

Ye Tiandao handed direct control of the Vermilion Bird to Wu Qingcheng, then ordered the gate to be opened, leading the Blade Legion and everyone out of the city to face the enemy.

Wu Qingcheng immediately ordered the Tiger Mercenary, "Close the gate and get on the walls for defence."

Ye Tiandao had left thirty archers for Wu Qingcheng.

"All of you, get your crossbow ready."

The Tiger Mercenary who didn’t have a crossbow could only wait for the close-up combat, scattered themselves among the archers by Wu Qingcheng’s instructions.

Soon, silence fell within the mountain fortress. Ye Tiandao led his men to set up a formation outside, and then they all fell silent.

Before long, everyone could feel the shaky ground, indicating that the Demi-Beasts were approaching. The members of the Tiger Mercenary began to feel nervous.

After all, there were only three hundred of them facing against the five thousand. If they were careless, a single move could let the demi-beasts break in.

Ye Tiandao had released the Rhinoceros puppet and the Brute Bull. Beside the rhinoceros were the Rhino and the Megalithic Ape, while the Dracaena siblings were preparing to unite with the rhinoceros puppet to charge by soaring into the sky.

Meanwhile, Scorch jumped onto the back of the rhinoceros, preparing to cast an illusions spell.

The rampage of the demi-beasts had by now produced a deafening rumbling sound.

Standing atop the fortress wall, Wu Qingcheng and the others could see nothing but a thick mass of shadows charging in their direction.

Soon, the rampaging charge of the demi-beasts was influenced by the sound of Su Miaoyin’s flute, and their pace began to slow down.

"Charge!"

With Ye Tiandao’s command, the Rhinoceros puppet charged out first. The Brute Bull, Rhino and Megalithic Ape were all on its sides, forming a spearhead formation as they charged towards the beast tide of the Demi-beasts.

The Dracaena siblings made their assault in the air in tandem.

Scorch swiftly wielded her Fiery Snake Whip while also conjuring illusions for the demi-beasts ahead.

Following them closely were Manshu, Yuer, and Blue Serpentine, who unleashed their Power of Ice on the frontline.

After that, Ye Tiandao, Fyeng Wanru, and the others led less than three hundred Blade Legion into the fray.

From the walls of the stronghold, the Tiger Mercenary and others could see clearly. On one side, there was a huge swarm of Demi-beasts, while on the other, the Blade Legion sliced into the crowd like a sharp sword. Not one of them hesitated, despite their lacking numbers.

Su Miaoyin’s influence caused the Demi-beasts’ charge to somewhat slow down.

Moreover, the demi-beasts who were affected by Scorch’s spell immediately began to panic, creating a stampede at the front of their lines.

Seizing the opportunity, the rhino puppet charged straight into them and ripped an opening.

The Demi-beasts in the rear were continuously sealed up by frost, plunging their team into turmoil in no time.

Even as the tide of beasts had barely settled down, everyone noticed that the ground was still trembling.

"Roar!"

An enormous roar, similar to a lion or bull, sounded from the flank of the battlefield.

Pairing with the ground’s shaking, a surge of menacing energy plunged straight into the camp of the Demi-beasts.

"Attack!"

Suddenly, there was a clamouring cry from behind the Demi-beasts.

"What’s going on?" Cao Meng asked Wu Qingcheng in confusion.

"Our reinforcements are here!" Wu Qingcheng replied, then commanded the archers to intercept some of the Demi-beasts who had slipped through.

Lei Ming and Dragon Lady took out the Golden Bow, helping to shoot the demi-beasts charging at them.

Suddenly in the sky, a Long-tailed Glede appeared, with Ye Liuyun standing on its back, parachuting soldiers from the air.

Then, the Long-tailed Glede disappeared and reappeared in different spots, with Ye Liuyun dropping a few more batches of soldiers.

"Haha, it’s literally soldiers descending from heaven!" Lei Ming exclaimed in admiration seeing the soldiers shooting down from the sky,

Members of the Tiger Mercenary were completely awed!

They had never seen this kind of battle, nor had they ever imagined Ye Liuyun could carry so many soldiers with him.

However, Ye Liuyun didn’t return to the city. After his stunt, he seemed to disappear from the battlefield.

The Devil Beasts scattered the half-demi-beast formation and charged toward the Demi-beast’s camp, disappearing from everyone’s sight.

Ye Liuyun had deployed a total of two thousand soldiers, enough to annihilate these demi-beasts. His soldiers started slaughtering from inside out, then surrounded these demi-beasts.

They continued to slaughter until there were less than a thousand of them remaining. With the decreasing number, the enemy was soon surrounded and eventually surrendered.

However, Ye Tiandao simply took their Interspatial Ring, armour, and weapons before sending them back.

The people of the Mount Fortress didn’t understand why would the surrendered soldiers be let go after all the trouble of capturing them.

The Demi-beasts arrived with a forceful momentum, but when they escaped, they left in a loud stampede as well.

The soldiers were escorted back to the city by Ye Tiandao. Carrying the bodies of more than two hundred soldiers, with all of them drenched in blood.

"Why did you let them go?" Wu Qingcheng asked Ye Tiandao in confusion.

"The master’s orders!" Ye Tiandao didn’t elaborate on her answer. He then instantly started to instruct the guarding positions of the soldiers in the city.

Now that they had more manpower, she could dispatch scouts to the outskirts of the fortress.

When others asked Ye Tiandao, she only replied that it was an order from Ye Liuyun and that she didn’t know anything about it.

At this moment, a demi-beast werewolf, covered in blood, appeared in the demi-beast team and infiltrated into their tribe.

It was a demi-beast that Ye Liuyun had transformed into using Phantom Illusion skills.

His clone was also covered in demi-beast blood to mask his scent, hidden under the Concealcape, he sneakily infiltrated the tribe with Ye Liuyun.
