Chapter 227: Chapter 227 – Golem monster stamped – Part 3.

Lord Vincent tried organizing his forces to search and find the golem’s movement and goal.

However, from the get go he found out that it wasn’t easy.

The people tried reaching the villages in order to warn them... However, in most cases in ended up with either the messenger arriving too late for the evacuation to indicate, or the golems destroyed their destination.

Not only that, the golems were on the high alert, making sneaking past them or observing them much harder.

Even the simplest screw up would lead to the chase.

However, it didn’t meant that the adventurers given up.

"What we are looking here at?" – asked the heavily armored adventurer.

"The village was already destroyed and it in the middle of being plundered.... We were too late." – said the hooded adventurer.

"Shit! But we got here as fast as we could!" – said the beast-human archer.

"....Can we take them?" – asked the heavily armored adventurer.

"Probably. The force here isn’t that big." – said the hooded adventurer.

"Then let’s go." – said the heavily armored adventurer.

"Let’s fuck this bastards up."

The adventurers usually tried avoiding the contact with the golems as much as possible.... However, they also needed to find ways to somewhat slow them down.

Extermination force.

A group of adventurers who specializes in combat were organized, which can not only travel quickly, but can also put up a solid fight against the golems.

These people goal was simple.

Sabotage the golems’ movement, slow them down, weaken them or just hunt them down when they leave themselves exposed.

With this, not only the enemy forces would end up getting weaker, but it would also give sometime for the evacuation force bring the villages to safety.

However-

"The.... One of the extermination parties were annihilated." – said the knight.

"...."

"What happened?" – asked the knight captain.

"They.... They were trying to sabotage a group of golems after they exterminated the village."

"They managed to exterminate the golems in the village... But then the second wave of golems appeared.

"And that wave contained a group of never-before-seen monsters.... Alongside golem who is to be believed a manifested boss monster, which bear somewhat similar appearance to the other golems around it." – replied the knight.

"The number of enemies was too much... And in the end, all but a single person managed to barely escape by using their stealth type skills."

"Boss monsters.... Fuck...." – said the knight captain as he held his head.

(So, their worries were justified.... There are really boss monsters on the loose.) – thought the knight captain as he put a red wooden figuring on top of the marked location on the map.

(Another village destroyed, and we even lost extermination squad.... This isn’t good.)

"..."

"Hey.... Are those reports are now confirmed?" – asked the knight captain.

"Yes sir...." – replied the worried knight B as he then took several red painted figures and began putting them on the marked locations.

"These villages were destroyed...."

"So the golems are really attacking everything around them?!" – said the scared knight captain.

"And the monsters?"

"The spotted monsters included new type monsters which weren’t seen before... Some people tried fighting against the golems, but the villages were quickly overrun." – said the knight B.

"D+ rank monsters are suspected to be taking part in invasions.... And there is also good chance that the C rank monsters are also present... However, this part wasn’t confirmed yet."

"But again, a golem with a unique appearance has spotted, a one with 4 limbs.... Suspected to be a boss monster."

(This isn’t fucking good.) – thought the knight captain.

(We are losing way too many, way too quickly!)

(I mean, based-)

"..."

"Wait.... Waitt, wait, wait, wait.... But that doesn’t...." – said the knight captain as he started sweating at the alarming rate.

"?"

"Em... Sir?" – asked the knight A.

"...The golems... Did they wondered or did they went straight for the village?" – asked the knight captain.

"?"

"I’m sorry?" – asked the confused knight A.

"FIND IF THE GOLEMS WERE FUCKING WONDERING OR GOING STRAIGHT FOR THE VILLAGE!" – shouted the knight captain on top of his lungs.

"NOW!" – shouted the knight captain as the two knights suddenly ran out of the tent.

(Shit! It doesn’t make sense, but there is no other explanation why their attacks were so fast!) – thought the panicking knight captain.

(They somehow knew the locations of the villages?!)

(But how? Did they tortured villages.... No. The golems are constructs, a moving dolls and what not!)

(Not only that, the timing isn’t right either!)

(This doesn’t make sense... But at the same time, they needed to know where exactly the villages are, if it didn’t took them too long to find them!?)

"Hey!" – said the knight captain as he gotten out of his tent and bothered a random guard in the area.

"How long until we can move our camp?"

"We can move it soon sir, the preparations are almost complete."

"Then hurry the fuck up! We need to move our base! We need to quickly give bigger support to the extermination forces! NOW!" – shouted the knight captain as he then quickly ran back to his tent and looked at the map.

"..."

(Still... What is bothering me the most here.... Are the golems actions.) – thought the knight captain.

(According to the reports, the golems are "looting" everything.)

(They are putting corpses of people and animals into the carts, while also taking anything like metals, tools or just anything of value, be it even food.)

(But why?!)

(Why the golems are looting everything?!)

(They don’t need food! Nor the farming tools to even start farms!)

(So what is the point in any of this?!)

(The initial theory was that these creatures just want to get rid of "enemy".... But if that is the case, then why loot?!)

(This.... This ain’t normal.... Is it?)

[Meanwhile: Dungeon]

"..."

"..."

"..."

(Okay. What the fuck?) – thought Thauma as it observed its golems tossing things into the dungeon, allowing the living location to start the devouring process.

(Isn’t this going far too easy???)

(I mean, by now the dungeon should get attacked, or the number of returning golems should noticeable decrees... Well, some golems for some reason still didn’t returned.... They were probably destroyed.... BUT!)

(The losses I was experiencing were much larger?!)

(What is going on here?)

Explanation time.

Thauma thought that the enemy would aim to destroy the dungeon in order to get rid of the "master" who commands the golems.

And Thauma thought that the enemy will split their forces and chase after the golems, causing the dungeon to suffer some heavy losses.

However, this was where Thauma was completely wrong.

The enemy, the territory lord, he wanted to aim to save as many people as possible – He ignored the dungeon completely.

And the second error was this.

The enemy was scared and wanted to play it smart.

They knew that the golems were damaged, but even so, there was a lot of them.

Not only that, adventurers didn’t had full picture regarding the golem army full strength.

They didn’t fought the boss monsters or some other monsters.

They knew that if they screw up now, while they lack information, the possibility of them losing large number of people would have high chance at occurring.

And so, the enemy instead of focusing on fighting, they focused only on evacuation and sabotage.

However, there are 2 things that needs to be mentioned.

First – Thauma put specific force to specific targets, fast moving golems and slow-moving golems were distributed properly.

Second – it takes time for the lord and his men to gather information regarding EACH of the golems’ attacks – because of that, it causes the strategic moving of troops to get noticeable delayed, to the point that some of the golem attacks straight up happens right underneath their noses.

The adventures are split up, gathering information and trying to help out in evacuation, while the extermination force is trying to slow down the invading golems.... However, the lack of information regarding the enemy movement is putting extremely heavy burden on the lord and his forces.

Thauma struck first, while everybody had their guard down at the worst possible timing.

They were not READY for any of this.

True.

They managed to slay several golems and even rescue some people, but again, the situation is still extremely against their favor.

And right now? Thauma is striking "rich" as of right now.

True, the corpses that that being brough to the golem are already rooting and what not.

But they can be still used to fuel the dungeon and produce the miasma.

Not only that, but golems robbed everything of value, even tearing off some buildings apart to just bring as much value to the dungeon as possible.

In the nutshell.

Thauma was panicking extremely big time, but in reality, it is easily striking "rich" while barely suffering any real casualties.

Which in turn straight up confuses a living hell out of the golem who couldn’t wrap their head around their current situation.

(I.... I really have no idea what is going on?) – thought Thauma as it saw the dungeon producing miasma, which would then get converted into DP.

(...)

(Huh....)

(Doesn’t this mean I can already start up my project, monster production and dungeon expansion.... All at the same time?)

"..."

(Huh...)

(....)

(YEAH!)

(THIS IS WIERDLY WAY TOO EASY!)
