Alvin didn’t quite realize what he was doing; the movement seemed subconscious. Maybe it was because as he watched her lips move, he began to miss her taste.

There’s no denying that, during this month without seeing her much, he occasionally thought of the feeling of kissing her, as well as the thought of her as a person.

He would think of some of her expressions and actions; how she laughed, how she played around, her silliness, and her paranoia.

So even he was a bit surprised by the kiss. It was almost an instinctual reaction upon seeing her mouth, and he leaned in to kiss her.

But this time, he didn’t go deeper; he only pressed his lips against hers.

She was surprised, her wide-open eyes and stiff body were something he could sense.

He didn’t know why, but something seemed to strike his heart suddenly. Was it loneliness, solitude, or something else?

Nangong Lin was so shocked she couldn’t move. No, it wasn’t that she couldn’t; she just forgot!

By the time she came to her senses, Alvin had suddenly moved away from her lips. His beautiful amber eyes seemed to carry a hint of bewilderment as he uttered a few words, "Do you believe it now?"

Nangong Lin was even more bewildered and flustered, eventually exclaiming in horror, "Are you insane?"

Maybe he was. Alvin stared at her, but didn’t voice that thought.

"You’re crazy, Alvin!" Nangong Lin stood up, clearly filled with anger. "If you’re dissatisfied with me, if you want revenge, you don’t need to come up with this trick! Using this on a woman, don’t you know how despicable you are?"

Being scolded like this, Alvin couldn’t understand why an uncontrollable anger rose within him too. He grabbed her hand, "Nangong Lin, can’t you think positively for once? In your eyes, is nothing I do ever right?! What if I said I like you!!"

The last sentence seemed to slip out unexpectedly, even Alvin wasn’t aware until he said it out loud what kind of words he had just spoken.

"You like me?" Nangong Lin’s eyes widened, and she couldn’t say a word, clearly extremely shocked. 𝒇𝙧𝙚𝓮𝔀𝓮𝒃𝙣𝓸𝒗𝒆𝒍.𝙘𝒐𝒎

This kind of liking, it seems, it seems so inexplicable, doesn’t it?

Not just Nangong Lin, but even Alvin felt the same way.

The two suddenly fell into silence, just looking at each other, just looking.

Alvin’s heart suddenly started racing. Actually, when he said those words, it was almost unconscious, a slip of the tongue. Liking her?

When did he start liking her?

Liking someone is actually quite simple, isn’t it? No need for complications.

If not, then why didn’t even he know?

Maybe it was when she was drunk?

Maybe it was when she scolded him?

Maybe it was when she stayed with him?

He didn’t know from where, but he couldn’t articulate it. He only knew that stating he liked her didn’t seem repugnant.

He even felt that he might actually like her a little, not knowing from when it began.

The two stared at each other for a long, long time before Nangong Lin gradually responded and immediately said, "Impossible!"

She clearly appeared flustered, as if unable to digest the news.

After saying that, she hurriedly ran away, and Alvin, not knowing why, instinctively chased after her.

At the doorway, Alvin caught up with her and pinned her harshly against the door, asking, "Why is it impossible!"

"You’re crazy, Alvin." Nangong Lin stared at him, "We’re not suitable at all; I’m three years older than you! What are you thinking? I’m not getting involved in a younger guy-older girl relationship!"
