Shi Mei coldly tossed out the remark, then pushed open the car door and got out. Before closing the door, he cast a cold glance at Shi Keke, signaling her to get out.

Shi Keke wasn’t about to let him off so easily, smiling as she emphasized, "Brother, not explaining is concealing, not concealing is accepting the truth."

What responded to her was the sound of the car door closing because Shi Mei couldn’t guarantee he wouldn’t do something outlandish to her due to her provocation in the next second.

He lit a cigarette and started smoking, leaning casually against the car, his laid-back manner adding a bit of allure to him.

Even in such a dim environment, he was eye-catching. Occasionally, a couple of passersby in the alley would give him a few glances.

Shi Keke observed the surroundings through the car window, finding it somewhat familiar at first, but then recognized it upon seeing some iconic buildings—it was Old Pier East Street.

She hastily folded the jacket that covered her and adjusted the seat, then unbuckled the seatbelt and got out of the car.

"Brother, didn’t you say this shop wasn’t open anymore?"

Although she hadn’t been here for many years, Shi Keke immediately recognized the old braised food shop.

Returning here felt like retrieving the sensations of childhood. Shi Keke considered herself not an emotional person, yet at this moment, she found herself vulnerable, with a sudden sourness in her heart.

Shi Mei stayed silent, merely raised his head to slowly blow out a smoke ring, watching it spiral and blend into the air, only to be gently dissipated by the night wind. Then, he extinguished the cigarette and walked toward her.

"Let’s go." He took her hand, leading her inside, everything seemed so natural.

After entering the shop, they found a seat, and the shop owner noticed them, quickly put aside his work to ask what they would like to eat.

The owner was an old man around sixty, with white hair and numerous wrinkles on his face due to the wear of time.

Shi Keke didn’t have a photographic memory, but she remembered this old man deeply.

Because the old man suffered severe leg injuries in a car accident when he was young, and walked with a limp.

When the old man hurriedly came over to greet them earlier, she had noticed this detail.

Unexpectedly, after so many years, this shop remained unchanged, and so did this owner.

Following the old routine, Shi Keke ordered the dishes she used to order—a plate of shrimp, a plate of crab, and lots of seafood.

While waiting for the food, Shi Keke fiddled with the disposable chopsticks on the table. As she played with them, she eventually found it boring, so she put down the chopsticks and looked at Shi Mei sitting across from her, calling out, "Brother."

Shi Mei was reading a newspaper, and upon hearing her voice, he didn’t react differently, just coldly said "Hmm."

Seeing he didn’t even look up, Shi Keke was slightly displeased. She raised an eyebrow and said, "Don’t you have anything to say to me?"

"What should I say?" He glanced at her briefly, then lowered his head to continue reading the newspaper.

Shi Keke: "You’ve held my hand, kissed my lips, hugged my body, and touched my face. Shouldn’t you express your stance? You say I’ve been taken advantage of ambiguously and ruined my reputation. How am I supposed to face people in the future?"
