Love You Till the End
Chapter 1194 - 1192: Shi Mei vs Shi Keke (39)
Chen Shijin glanced through the files and continued questioning Zhang Er: "Ms. Zhang Er, may I ask if you were negligent in caring for your child on July 18th, resulting in injury? Please answer yes or no."
Zhang Er nodded, "Yes."
July 18th, the day when Shi Keke previously requested the judge to play Evidence One in court, proving Qian Hao’s improper relations with another woman at a hotel.
Three days ago, Shi Keke asked Zhang Er about the events of that day. Zhang Er told her that she and Qian Hao had a dispute over money for the baby’s formula. Qian Hao stormed out in anger, causing Zhang Er to have an asthma attack.
The asthma medication was in the bedroom, so Zhang Er immediately tried to go get it, but she fell to the ground after taking a few steps and couldn’t breathe at all.
Zhang Er’s eldest son had just turned two. Seeing his mother in distress on the floor, he went over to ask her. Zhang Er told him to retrieve a white bottle from the drawer in the bedroom, and her son, being very sensible, went to get the medicine for her.
Unexpectedly, as he entered the room, he tripped and hit his head on the cabinet. Due to the impact, Zhang Er’s son sustained a minor concussion and spent half a month in the hospital.
According to Zhang Er, it was the neighbor living opposite who heard the commotion and brought some helpers to break in, taking her and her son to the hospital.
To verify the incident, Shi Keke personally visited Zhang Er’s residential area and spoke to her neighbors to understand the situation. The neighbors’ accounts matched Zhang Er’s completely.
Additionally, Shi Keke learned from the neighbors that Qian Hao rarely returned home, sometimes not coming home for an entire month, neglecting his wife and child, even refusing to provide money for formula.
As a lawyer, Shi Keke couldn’t just rely on one side’s words, so she asked several residents about Zhang Er’s family situation.
The results proved that Zhang Er hadn’t lied; every word she said was true. Often overwhelmed by caring for two children, she would occasionally ask neighbors to watch the kids when she couldn’t manage on her own.
The neighbors felt sympathy for the mother and her children, often willingly helping with simple chores.
The neighbors vividly recalled the argument between Zhang Er and Qian Hao on July 18th, stating they quarreled fiercely that day.
At the time, Zhang Er seemed to be confronting Qian Hao: "You’re willing to spend hundreds of thousands to buy a house and car for another woman outside, yet won’t give me even a few thousand for formula. Zhang Hao, have the six or seven years we shared the bed meant less to you than a woman you met only months ago?"
Qian Hao’s response was: "Look at your face—it’s aged and yellow, and your figure has changed drastically. What man would have any appetite looking at you? You ought to reflect on yourself, on why you fall short compared to her."
Neighbors also mentioned that after their argument, Qian Hao seemed to have thrown down a few thousand bucks and then didn’t return for a month.
They sympathized with Zhang Er and her children, feeling they were truly unfortunate, stuck with an irresponsible husband and father who spent his time indulging in pleasures outside instead of caring for his family.
So, while Zhang Er was indeed negligent in care, she is somewhat excusable, as the injury to the child was beyond her control.
