 Alaric looked at the moving trees as they drove into the suburbs. He could see the roofs of mansions from the road, but the only thing on the road were huge gates with awakened security Guards.
 It was the epitome of wealth, he could feel it as they drove deeper. The car made a right turn and took a small road.
 A minute later, a huge gate came into view. It was opened before the car could even reach it.
 They drove into a huge manicured kingdom. He could see the house, but it was still far away. Clearly, all houses in the area had huge spaces, not like the normal compact areas.
 It was probably family homes since it was away from the city and peaceful.
 They pulled into a huge mansion, bigger than his own, and stopped near the fountain. Alaric got out of the car before it was opened by the guards.
 It was suffocating sitting there with Jezebel’s grandfather studying him blatantly.
 "Welcome to my home."
 "Thank you sir."
 They walked slowly towards the door. It was opened by a man who seemed to be the butler. Judging from his black suit and gloved hands.
 "The master and mistress have been waiting for you eagerly."
 The old man chuckled.

 Alaric got curious.
 "How many children do you have? You seem fond of them."

 " Two. My beautiful wife was able to give me two before she unfortunately passed. "
 Alaric could see the sadness in the old man’s eyes.
 "I apologize."
 He shook his head and patted Alaric on the shoulder.
 "Ooh you don’t have to, those children are a blessing she left. They’re my world."
 Alaric opened his mouth to answer but he was cut off.
 "That’s sweet, Dad, and I love you too. I’ve been waiting for ages you know?"
 Alaric looked at the two couples sitting on the couches. They were just as he had imagined. Pristine suits, sitting straight and they just looked like the definition of elites.
 Alaric could see Jezebel’s resemblance to her mother. Both of her Parents were fire users so their hair was a shade of different red and orange hues.
 "Stop looking at the young man like that you’re scaring him," the old man snapped at the two.
 As though a button had been pressed. The two breathed out before leaning back haphazardly.
 Jezebel’s dad unbuttoned three of his shirt buttons and started to fan himself while her mother still remained elegantly dressed, but a motherly smile curved her face.
 "I heard this was the biggest tactic to scare any of Jezebel’s suitors. Alaric isn’t it?" Jezebel’s dad asked.
 Alaric nodded.
 "Yes sir."
 " Good, you cleared the B-class dungeon alone, didn’t you?
 "Yes, sir."
 Alaric was wondering where everything was heading.
 "Come and greet me, Jezebel has really grown up to make friends with such a nice man."
 Alaric chuckled awkwardly.
 Alaric walked to her father and shook his hand, he turned to her mother and did the same thing.
 "Take a seat anywhere," Jezebel’s father said, pointing at the seat opposite them. Alaric walked and sat on the black leather couch.
 "Tell me about yourself?" Jezebel’s mother asked him the moment he was seated.
 " My name is Alaric Theron, I’m an A-class awakener, and I’m also friends with your daughter," he answered slowly.
 There was really nothing much he could say about himself without freaking them out. It was better to remain shallow than go into the deep end. He didn’t want to get Jezebel in trouble.

 Alaric smiled sadly and avoided their eyes.
 " I don’t know much about them, " he said his hands trembling.
 Alaric clapped to himself, he felt like a top actor.
 Jezebel’s mum covered her mouth as a gasp escaped her lips. Jezebel’s dad patted her back softly his eyes also filled with sadness.
 "I’m sorry dear, I didn’t mean to be insensitive," she whispered softly.
 Alaric shook his head. He had not expected their reactions to be this much.
 "It’s okay ma’am, you didn’t know it’s something I have made peace with. I just hope wherever they are they are living a good life, " Alaric’s voice dropped as he said that.
 I hope they get burnt to death, he thought inwardly. He would never wish such good fortune on them.
 Jezebel’s mum nodded. Alaric understood where Jezebel had gotten her overemotional side from.
 "Did something bad happen, why are you all crying?" A deep male voice came from the hallway leading to the main door. Seconds later, a tall, burly man with wild red hair walked into the room.
 He was wearing a black custom suit, his tie was crooked sideways, which seemed intentional, and the bottom of his pants was muddy, as were his shoes.
 Alaric looked between him and Jezebel’s dad, they looked the same. If Jezebel’s dad had not been older, they would have looked like identical twins.
 "Nothing and why are you so loud?" Jezebel’s mom snapped. Her caring mother facade was gone in just seconds.
 "I heard you have a little.. gathering," the man dismissed her and turned to Alaric," and who do we have here?"
 "That’s one of your sisters’ friends," Jezebel’s dad introduced Alaric," his name is Alaric, our family owes him a big favor. Alaric this is Cain, Jezebel’s older brother."
 Alaric looked at Cain up and down, the man was just as Jezebel had described to him while complaining about how much of a control freak he was.
 Alaric could already see the gears turning in the man’s head, he probably thought of him as one of Jezebel’s pursuers.
 "Nice to meet you," Alaric said and stood up. He extended his arm for a greeting, which the man took.
 "Nice to meet you too," he answered. He started to squeeze his hand a little bit too hard, clearly expecting a reaction from Alaric, but he kept up the most painful smile he could have ever given to anyone.
 He also wasn’t to be outdone, he also squeezed the man’s hand.
 Their eyes met before Cain released his hand and smiled, raising his hands up in the air and bursting into laughter.
 "You’re funny," he muttered under his breath before he went and sat down next to his grandfather.
 Alaric smiled awkwardly at the others before sitting back down.
 " Jezebel told me you both discovered and mined the spiritual stones?" Her dad asked seriously.
 Alaric nodded in response.
 "Do you mind selling it to us or do you need it urgently?" Jezebel’s dad asked.
 " I don’t really need it , it’s a lot for one person. I would appreciate it if you could take them off my hands," Alaric said politely.
 Jezebel’s mum nodded at every word he said, they had probably planned to buy from him beforehand.
 " Take this," her dad handed him a credit card," it’s the amount of fifty percent of the crystals. Jezebel said you both did half of the work."
 He took the card carefully counting in his head how much money it was.
 "Thank you."
 "It’s okay, son, you helped us a lot," Jezebel’s dad said before turning to Cain," Do you know when Jezebel will arrive?"
 "She should be here soon, she went to Samantha’s," Cain answered. He picked up a glass of water and gulped it down before banging into a glass on the table.
 "Cain’s manners," Jezebel’s mother chided him.

 Alaric smiled and waved at her. She blushed and waved back at him before walking and sitting on the couch next to him.
 She leaned over to him and whispered, "You came earlier than I thought."
 Alaric nodded and smiled, gesturing for her to look at her family, who were looking at their interaction. Her parents smiled while her brother was shooting daggers at him.
 Jezebel noticed and sat upright, her hands on her lap, and laughed awkwardly.
 "Of course we are, we got to know each other during her awakening test in the association, " Alaric said diverting his attention to him. Jezebel’s face was an open book, and Alaric was sure her brother was starting to doubt them.
 He didn’t want to be beaten up by an S-class. With how Jezebel talked about her brother, he knew the man was overprotective of his sister.
 "Thank you for inviting me but I should be leaving," Alaric said and stood up. Jezebel’s parents nodded.
 "Be safe, it was nice meeting you. Come visit us again," her mom said and turned to Jezebel," escort your friend out, dear."
