"Ronan, you should wear a skirt later. I’ll take your picture."

Ronan Kendrick was silent for a moment. "Should I wear a wig?"

The wigs were something Evelyn Ford had collected while scavenging for supplies. They came in all sorts of colors, lengths, and styles.

"Yes, and you can wear stockings, too."

"No way." When it came to stockings, Ronan Kendrick absolutely refused. Evelyn Ford giggled, leaned in, and gave him a kiss.

"So, will you wear them or not?"

"Fine. But just this once."

And just like that, she had a new batch of photos of the "Kendrick Beauty."

Meanwhile, the fishing boat had entered deep waters. The people on board had already caught a good number of king crabs and tuna, but they had no intention of turning back. Instead, they planned to press onward.

The temperature dropped to around minus thirty degrees, and the snow outside the cabin could pile up several meters overnight.

A considerable amount of snow had already piled up in her storage space, but to prevent it from burying the cabin and trapping them inside, she had to keep clearing some of it into her space every day.

In the early morning, Evelyn Ford was still fast asleep in Ronan Kendrick’s arms when he suddenly opened his eyes. A few seconds later, he put on his overcoat and walked out of the bedroom.

"Where are you going?"

"I think I heard a ship’s horn."

Evelyn Ford rubbed her eyes. "How is that possible?"

"You go back to sleep. I’ll go check it out." Ronan Kendrick closed the cabin door and went outside. Evelyn Ford pulled the blanket over her head, rolled over, and went right back to sleep.

Three minutes later, Ronan Kendrick returned, an unusually serious expression on his face. Evelyn Ford immediately sat bolt upright.

"What is it? A hurricane?"

"No. There’s a boat approaching, a few dozen kilometers away."

Evelyn Ford was surprised. "A real boat?"

"Yes, and it looks like a big one. There are only two of us. If they land on the island, it’ll probably mean a lot of trouble."

It wasn’t that he was afraid; Ronan Kendrick just didn’t want the island to be stained with blood.

Besides, there were likely quite a few of them. If they had weapons, they would be difficult to deal with.

Evelyn Ford quickly got out of bed, changed her clothes, and then took out a Crossbow, Crossbow Arrows, guns, ammunition, and explosives from her storage space.

"We can’t let them land on the island."

As she loaded all the guns, the laziness in Evelyn Ford’s eyes vanished, and a murderous aura radiated from her.

If those people didn’t land, they could all live in peace. But if they were determined to die... Evelyn Ford gave a cold smile.

"Ronan, we just so happen to be in need of a large boat." 𝙛𝒓𝓮𝙚𝔀𝒆𝒃𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝓵.𝙘𝒐𝒎

Ronan Kendrick had the exact same thought. With their weapons ready, the two of them went outside to collect the fish and shrimp that had washed up on the island. By now, the horn from the fishing boat was crystal clear. Evelyn Ford took out a pair of binoculars and looked in the direction of the sound.

The sea was shrouded in a thick fog, but through it, they could vaguely make out a large ship slowly approaching the island.

Clearly, the people on the ship had also spotted the island. They were standing on the deck, howling with excitement.

"It’s a group of foreigners. A lot of them, thirty or forty."

The large ship began to turn, heading for the island. It was now only about three hundred meters away.

The people on deck were also looking this way through binoculars. When they saw there were only two people on the island, they dismissed them completely, growing even more excited.

They dragged out two crates, and each person took a gun from inside.

A vicious glint flashed in Evelyn Ford’s eyes. "Ronan, they’re heavily armed, and they’re going to land."

Ronan Kendrick held a gun in each hand. His ears twitched, and he said in a low voice, "You go inside the cabin first. I’ll handle this."

"Do you really think I’d leave?" Evelyn Ford said with a hint of resignation, keeping her binoculars trained on the fishing boat.

Just then, someone on the boat took out a megaphone and started shouting. They were speaking a foreign language, which Evelyn Ford could understand.

"People on the island, put down your weapons! Raise your hands and kneel on the ground, and we might spare your lives."

Evelyn Ford’s gaze turned cold. "I’m going to put the cabin away so it doesn’t get damaged."

Seeing no reaction, the people on the boat grew angry. "Did you hear us? We’re from Xylos! If you surrender, we’re willing to take you to Xylos. We have food, water, and clothes."

After he finished speaking, someone fired a shot toward the island. Ronan Kendrick was hiding behind a snowdrift, and the shot missed.

Evelyn Ford had already put the cabin away. She then ran, crouched low, to Ronan Kendrick’s side.

"They’re from Xylos. That country has always been hostile to ours, and they’re known for being ruthless. There’s no way they’d be kind enough to take us with them. We’re not their countrymen. Falling into their hands would not end well."

The boat was getting closer and closer. Evelyn Ford wanted to capture it, so she had no intention of using explosives. She took aim at the man with the megaphone and fired a clean shot.

BANG! The man toppled directly into the sea. Seeing this, the others all raised their guns and began spraying bullets. Evelyn Ford and Ronan Kendrick were in the shadows, making it easy for them to hide.

Ronan Kendrick immediately fired three shots in succession, killing three people on the boat instantly. Just then, a gale swept across the sea—the hurricane had arrived suddenly.

Evelyn Ford and Ronan Kendrick exchanged a look. It was perfect; this time, even fate was on their side.

The people on the boat were cursing furiously as the hurricane swept in. A massive wave crashed over the deck, pulling five or six people who hadn’t taken cover directly into the sea.

Two women were hiding in the ship’s cabin, firing wildly at the island. Evelyn Ford felt a pang of regret for the wasted bullets, but since one shot had nearly hit her just moments before, she didn’t dare let her guard down again.

The sea was churning violently, and all sorts of creatures swarmed in pursuit. Those who had been knocked into the water by the waves were bitten on the leg by sharks before they could even cry for help.

The captain wanted to turn back, but the wind was too strong. The ship couldn’t move at all.

"I thought we were in for a tough fight today. I didn’t expect it to be over so easily."

However, there were still more than a dozen people on the boat. Some began to cry for help, while others continued to curse and mutter.

One person hadn’t given up and fired at the island. Ronan Kendrick took him out with a clean headshot.

Ronan Kendrick’s marksmanship was precise. Even through the fog and raging storm, he could kill with a single shot, never wasting a bullet.

Evelyn Ford, lying prone in a snowdrift, gave Ronan Kendrick a thumbs-up.

The storm’s waves also crashed onto the island, soaking their clothes and covering them in fish and shrimp that had washed ashore.

The fishing boat was still tossing on the waves, looking as if it might sink to the bottom of the sea at any moment.

It was impossible to tell if anyone on board was still alive. Half an hour later, the sea calmed. Evelyn Ford brought the cabin back out, and the two of them hurried inside to change into dry clothes.

The fishing boat had drifted far away. Evelyn Ford planned to take their assault boat out to check on the situation.

The two of them got into the assault boat and headed toward the fishing boat. In the water, several bodies and some dismembered limbs were floating.

Schools of fish were swarming around the corpses, gnawing at them. The sight was unsettling.

When they reached the fishing boat, they found it was too high to climb directly, so they had to use an Eagle Claw Hook to get aboard.

There was another body on the deck. The man wasn’t quite dead yet. Seeing the two of them, he raised his gun, but before he could pull the trigger, Ronan Kendrick kicked him into the sea, saving a bullet.

"Let’s check inside."

Ronan Kendrick glanced at the iron cages used for catching king crabs, then led Evelyn Ford toward the ship’s cabin.

"Be careful."
