Magus Supremacy
Chapter 986: Executioner
Chapter 986
"....?!"
Devan took a few staggered steps backward as his Ki spear slid out of Grey’s hands with a wet, sickening sound.
Fresh blood dripped from the glowing Ki construct as he stared intensely at the individual who had suddenly materialized to intercept his precise kill.
No matter how hard he searched his memory, he was unable to recall ever seeing this person.
During the entire duration of the battle, this figure had been absent.
Furthermore, the velocity he had used to appear was unlike anything Devan had witnessed today.
It was almost as if he had utilized some form of genuine teleportation.
Devan watched in silence as the man turned around to glance at the wounded mage on the ground.
"Haaa.... you are back already?" Fenrir questioned, his brows furrowed in a mix of confusion and relief despite his bone-deep exhaustion.
Grey didn’t offer a verbal reply.
Instead, an ashen portal yawned open beneath Fenrir, swallowing the mage whole in an instant.
High atop the wall, a matching portal opened beside Leo, depositing Fenrir gently next to the Vice Principal.
Unhesitatingly, Leo administered one of the vials of high-grade potions Grey had brewed before his departure from Vayun.
Within minutes, the effects were visible; Fenrir’s arm began mending itself.
Bones cracked as they shifted back into their proper positions, and flesh knit together at an impressive rate.
"You are lucky the limb wasn’t completely severed," Leo remarked with a low chuckle, "otherwise, you would have ended up just like me."
...
Staring at the empty patch of earth where Fenrir had lay only a moment ago, Grey allowed the blood from his impaled palms to drip steadily onto the ground. 𝕗𝚛𝚎𝚎𝐰𝗲𝗯𝗻𝚘𝚟𝚎𝗹.𝕔𝐨𝕞
A prominent, deep frown creased Devan’s face.
He had already mentally cataloged every significant fighter on this battlefield, and they were all currently occupied.
So where had this self-proclaimed hero emerged from?
’Could he be one of the cannon fodder who was hiding his strength? But what was that suffocating aura and chill I felt just a moment ago?’
AWHOOOOO—!
Noir’s howl split the air once again, drawing Devan’s attention toward the center of the fray where men were being incinerated as if they were made of dry straw.
Laser beams flickered across the field like lethal arrows.
The familiar was darting through the ranks, and with his combined speed and magical prowess, Noir was dismantling the enemy faster than they could even attempt to regroup.
The only thing left in the beast’s wake was a fleeting crimson blur.
Ash, smoke, and thick dust were kicked up everywhere Noir tread.
He left no corpses behind; those who stood in his path were reduced entirely to cinders by his relentless flames.
High above, Han and Dan were more than impressed by the display.
With Thalos, Rivock, and now Noir serving as the primary heavy hitters, the crushing pressure on the Dawn army began to subside significantly.
Finally, there was a glimmer of breathing room—but it wasn’t enough to turn the tide just yet.
Seeing the opening, Lilly decided to push her limits even further.
Her bow lit up with an eerie glow, yet no physical arrow could be seen notched in the string.
Instead, her own blood—which trickled from her torn and busted fingers—began to rise into the air, coalescing into a single, shimmering crimson projectile.
She grimaced in agonizing pain as she drew the string back and let the arrow fly with every ounce of her remaining strength.
’This is bad... this is very bad...’
Within a second of being released, the arrow multiplied into a thousand streaks of red light that rained down upon the enemy.
The moment they struck, the soldiers withered almost immediately, their life force harvested.
A thousand men crashed to the ground while Lilly’s previously pale face was suddenly rejuvenated by a violent rush of stolen blood and energy.
The sudden influx caused her body to spasm, and she collapsed heavily to the stones.
Utilizing the full ability of her modified bow twice in a single day carried dire consequences.
She was unable to think clearly; her head pounded like a rhythmic drum, and the world began to spin uncontrollably.
Not knowing which way was up or down, she let out a cry of tremendous pain.
Watching from a distance, Leo was struck with worry.
After ensuring Fenrir was stabilized, he rushed to her position.
Blood dribbled down Lilly’s lips, but she was still breathing.
Unfortunately, she was now completely incapacitated; the strain of her weapon’s effects had left her broken.
But her contribution was more than enough.
The window of breathing space she provided increased just enough for every single member of the Dawn force to act.
Simultaneously, they slipped their hands into their pockets and pulled out a distinct purple pill marked with the initials: ’SM’.
Without hesitation whatsoever, they swallowed the pill and instantly felt a rush of energy flood their Dantian.
Those whose Dantian was depleted felt the core refill with Ki energy.
Those who were feeling weary just a moment ago felt refreshed.
Immediately, the few thousand men from the Dawn forces struck as hard as they had when the battle had begun earlier.
Their movements became more synchronized—powerful even.
They had just gotten the second wind they wanted.
Unfortunately, it would only last for five minutes.
And in those five minutes, they needed to deal as much damage as they possibly could.
With Noir and Thalos on the field, it wouldn’t be that difficult anymore.
The Dawn forces immediately doubled their efforts with smiles of untold victory, even though the enemy still had hundreds of thousands on their side.
Meanwhile, the leader of the Dawn faction could be seen rising with a neutral expression on his face as he looked at Devan.
Devan was more than furious at the fact that a plain jane had actually just blocked his strike.
"I will make you pay, trash!"
With the speed of light itself, Devan moved blistering fast, his Ki sword jabbing forward, ready to cleave into Grey’s torso.
Inclining his head to the side, Grey calmly lifted his hand and, at the last second, a Ki sword appeared in his grip, which he used to block Devan’s strike.
BOOOM—!
The ground shattered under their weight as Devan’s eyes widened.
Instead of the figure before him going flying like he had expected, the man had actually blocked his strike?
Even though he wasn’t using all his strength, this shouldn’t have been possible.
"The name is; The Supreme Magus," Grey finally uttered with chilling calmness.
The wind howled with his declaration, drawing Han and Dan’s attention in the direction of the unnatural gale.
"... And you have just attacked my faction unprovoked."
As he spoke, his hair was beginning to rise above his shoulders.
Eyes glowing bright white.
Devan took a step back at this phenomenon.
The whole battlefield began feeling the hairs on their bodies rising.
The ground was rumbling as if an earthquake was about to occur at any moment.
"And the punishment for that is..."
Shimmering lights began materializing around Grey and soon; more than two thousand Ki swords hovered above the battlefield, casting long, dark shadows.
The world paused.
Everybody froze as all eyes naturally drifted to look at the sky.
Han’s pupils dilated. ’Who the hell is that?’
Dan’s hands fell from his chest. "Is that-that-that the Supreme Magus?"
"... Death," Grey completed his words like a final order by an executioner.
Click—!
His fingers struck each other loudly.
The world immediately turned red.
