Martial Ascent to Divinity
Chapter 808 - 782: The Ancient Road
"As long as we ensure the giant dragon doesn’t come to disrupt us, it will definitely work. We giants and beastmen don’t have much rapport, only transactions. As long as you perform well on the boundless path, the elders will surely agree to help. Killing beastmen is nothing, no elder cares."
Zhou Leng nodded lightly, slowly contemplating how to first resolve the crisis of Judgment Bone once the Ten Realms connect.
If a Demigod King were to sneak attack Blue Star, the consequences would be unimaginable.
Back then, the various realms didn’t do so because none wanted to see people from other worlds doing the same.
Even the mighty Demon Purgatory couldn’t withstand the nuclear peace envoys’ constant bombing.
But now, the beastmen’s demigods have nearly perished from novice to middle-rank, their power already significantly lagging, they might take reckless risks.
Zhou Leng was pondering when he caught sight of a human Martial Saint’s figure in his peripheral vision, he turned to look.
"Hmm? Isn’t that the missing Eagle Alliance Martial Saint, Celestial Sword? Why is he appearing here?"
As Zhou Leng looked at the man, he recalled previously searching repeatedly for the Celestial Sword while hunting down the Demon Worship Sect’s Martial Saints, but there was never any news; he could only consider him missing.
Legend has it that the Celestial Sword obtained the power of a divine being, making him undefeated in the same realm.
Once he fought with full strength, his body would be covered in golden armor, resembling the legendary Golden Titan, nicknamed Titan King.
The Celestial Sword squinted, golden ripples surfacing in his eyes.
Mountain River Celestial Peak said, "Before he ascended to Martial Saint, he received support from the Demon Worship Sect, participated in many Giant Trials, and unleashed a mighty Giant Body. Then, with luck, he acquired part of the Golden Giant’s bloodline, so he faced minimal obstruction in the Giant World, needing to sacrifice very little power to pass through. Four years ago, he entered and has been arduously cultivating, just coming out recently. Rest assured, he wouldn’t dare touch you; even if he counts as a Golden Giant, if he touches you, he dies."
Zhou Leng nodded.
The Celestial Sword turned his gaze briefly and then indifferently turned back.
Mountain River Origin said, "You’re different from us; you must be aware of them, but not overly so. Your true target is the legendary Divine Son, even more advanced talents. Fortunately, you’re still alive..."
After finishing, Mountain River Origin silently gazed at the distant sunset, speaking no more.
As night descended, the mountains filled with starlight softly trembled.
"The time has come! Depart!"
Demigods soared through the skies, rushing into the distance.
Below, countless giants looked up to the heavens, watching the god-like figures stream toward the distant mountains.
Demon Purgatory, fifth layer, the majestic highlands.
The Iron Wall, Demigod King of Demon Giants, stood before a group of Demon Demigods, inspecting while shouting.
"The power of Starry Giants, unmatched!"
"What nonsense Demon God; all are mere fodder for the great Starry Giants. Demon Giants are the true rulers of Demon Purgatory; other demons are just garbage..."
Among the group, demons of various tribes rolled their eyes, but none were angry.
Because the Iron Wall was mostly right; in the eyes of demons, apart from their own tribe, other demons ought to be reduced to fodder.
"This grand gathering on the ancient path is unprecedented!"
"The Starry Giants are watching you, Divine Spirits are watching you!"
"If chosen by Divine Spirits, you’ll transcend the limits of Elementary Civilizations, akin to the great Star Messengers, climbing to the universe’s highest peak..."
The Iron Wall shouted and cursed until the earth trembled, then he stopped.
"Go, demon brats, become great Star Messengers, cross the farthest sea, climb the highest mountain..."
The demon demigods roared, stepping into the Land of Radiance.
Each seemed thrown into a giant washing machine, with massive dizziness turning their heads fuzzy. An unimaginable pressure engulfed them, the world before their eyes bizarre and dazzling, powers twisting and spinning.
Vision flickered dark and bright, Zhou Leng steadied himself as his stomach churned.
Wow... wow...
Before he could scrutinize his surroundings, dense sounds of vomiting and splashing liquid reached his ears.
He turned to see hordes of demigods vomiting, some on their knees, unable to stand, their bodies limp.
In view, not a single demigod abstained, including middle-rank demigods.
Zhou Leng rubbed his stomach; this journey was truly uncomfortable, but it was over.
He glanced around, and his heart skipped a beat.
Masses of demigods sprawled at the mountain base as far as the eye could see, spanning tens of thousands of kilometers.
The combined demigods of the Ten Realms didn’t compare to one ten-thousandth of those here.
Indeed, it was a cosmic-scale trial.
Before all demigods stood a towering artificial mountain beyond imagination.
The mountain wasn’t steep, only approximately a 45-degree angle, but the summit reached into the starry sky, its end unseen.
High above, an enormous whirlpool-like galaxy distinctly floated in the sky.
With his meager astronomic knowledge, Zhou Leng instantly recognized it wasn’t any galaxy observed from Earth.
This galaxy’s grandeur and vastness far exceeded human understanding.
This mega-galaxy comprised thirty-six starry spiral arms; each arm consists of countless super galaxy clusters, each cluster housing countless billions of regular galaxies.
Each regular galaxy was no less than the Milky Way.
Zhou Leng recalled barely, ancient Giant texts recorded this inconceivable galaxy.
It appeared to be a divine artifact belonging to the Starry Giants.
Zhou Leng withdrew his gaze, surveying the surrounding demigods.
They represented various tribes, none known from the Ten Realms.
Suddenly, a detonating sound erupted.
Turning, he saw two bizarrely shaped Giant Demigods locked in battle.
Suddenly, a semi-transparent index finger descended from the sky, stretching tens of kilometers.
The giant index finger pressed down lightly, akin to squashing tiny insects.
Bang!
The two battling Giant Demigods exploded into blood mist; yet the ground showed no cracks, and no power leaked out.
Total silence filled the scene; countless demigods stared fearfully at the semi-transparent finger.
The finger slowly lifted, disappearing into the sky.
The field remained quiet, only the sounds of vomiting and blowing winds persisted.
Demigods quietly waited.
Occasionally, new demigods appeared, then vomited profusely.
Zhou Leng surveyed the area, where the cosmos’ varied life forms gathered; although their shapes were generally similar, generally humanoid or beast-like, intricacies were bizarre and diverse.
After an uncertain wait, vast white light cascaded from the slope above; before anyone reacted, the white light had reached the mountain’s base.
The white light flowed like a shallow river, streaming under everyone’s feet.
Then, bursts and cries erupted one after another.
Occasionally a body burst, or a spiritual light soared, or some transformed into strange creatures fleeing skyward.
But they also exploded.
Zhou Leng closely observed, striving to contain his power.
Those slain trial-takers likely harbored enemy bloodlines of the Starry Giants or were traitors.
He hoped the dragon power he possessed wouldn’t be affected.
Soon, the white light dissipated.
A resonant voice spread throughout in divine text.
"Carry the Godstone, ascend the ancient path, climb higher, then step onto the ancient bridge, ascend the stars, climb the highest mountain..."
