Chapter 6599: The Obstinate Jie Baobao

“Jie Baobao, I shan’t make things hard for you. All I’m asking you to do is to distance yourself from Chu Feng by listing his crimes and scolding that little bastard. I’ll pretend that nothing has happened if so. That shouldn’t be difficult, right?” Ling Kun asked.

Many people sent voice transmissions to Jie Baobao, advising her to do as she was told. Ling Kun was already trying to de-escalate the situation as well by giving Jie Baobao an easy way out; all she had to do was criticize Chu Feng a little.

“Why should I scold him?” Jie Baobao asked.

The crowd was taken aback.

Ling Kun had given Jie Baobao a way out, but she refused to take it. Could the rumors that Jie Baobao was in cahoots with Chu Feng be true? That would change the nature of this matter.

Ling Kun’s eyebrows shot up as he scoffed, “Why? Chu Feng is a wanted criminal of our Seven Realms Sacred Mansion. Do you not think that his actions deserve to be criticized?”

“What did he do? Our Seven Realms Sacred Mansion already views him in enmity even when he hasn’t done anything at all,” Jie Baobao replied.

“Audacious! Isn’t he the one who wreaked havoc in our Seven Realms Sacred Mansion? Jie Baobao, are you truly colluding with Chu Feng?” Ling Kun questioned.

“Lord Ling Kun, look at Jie Baobao’s right hand. She has been holding onto something since coming out of her chamber. Could it be related to Chu Feng?” an elder standing behind Ling Kun pointed out.

That drew scrutiny to Jie Baobao’s tightly clenched right hand, especially when she visibly tightened her grip when that was pointed out.

In an instant, everyone was interested to know what she was holding.

“What is in your hand?” Ling Kun asked.

“It has nothing to do with you,” Jie Baobao replied.

“Audacious!” An elder stepped forward to search Jie Baobao.

“Stop.” But Ling Kun stopped that elder. “Jie Baobao, I have given you chances in view that you’re a talent of our Seven Realms Sacred Mansion. I’ll only ask you one last time. What are you holding in your hand?”

There was a cold glint in Ling Kun’s eyes as he posed that question.

“It is my property. You have no right to know,” Jie Baobao replied.

Fresh blood gushed from Jie Baobao’s right arm. Her right arm had been severed.

Ling Kun had made a move.

The crowd was startled. They didn’t expect Ling Kun to make a move. That was Jie Baobao! Even with the Enforcement Token, Ling Kun would still face intense scrutiny for making a move on a talented prodigy like Jie Baobao.

Talents like Jie Baobao were naturally accorded special treatment.

But even when Jie Baobao’s right arm was severed and fell to the ground, it continued to tightly clutch onto whatever was in her hand.

“Do you think I dare not do that?” Ling Kun asked coldly.

“Hah...” Jie Baobao laughed coldly. “I’ll say it now. I am not in collusion with Chu Feng, but I don’t think he has done wrong, either. I have interacted with him, and I think that he’s a good person. He didn’t do wrong; it is our Seven Realms Sacred Mansion who has done wrong.”

Her words horrified the crowd. She was courting death by saying those words aloud!

“You’re asking for it!” The infuriated Ling Kun constructed a formation that crushed Jie Baobao into the ground. The intense pressure caused blood to spurt from her mouth.

“You should have heard Jie Baobao’s words. It is thanks to our Seven Realms Sacred Mansion’s nurturing that she accomplished what she has today, but she knows not of gratitude. She is siding with a sinner who has crossed us many times. Jie Boabao is a traitor! She has to be executed!” Ling Kun roared.

“Jie Baobao, you deserve to die for uttering such blasphemous words. How dare you question Lord Mansion Master?” Ling Kun’s granddaughter added.

“Fine. Go ahead and kill me. I don’t want to stay in such a Seven Realms Sacred Mansion, either,” Jie Baobao replied.

“Do you think I dare not kill you?” Ling Kun’s granddaughter pulled out a formation knife and charged at Jie Baobao.

Blood splattered.

Everyone fell silent, including Ling Kun.

He was the one who gave his granddaughter that formation knife. He also staged this show to teach Jie Baobao a lesson on his granddaughter’s behalf, so that the latter could vent her anger. He didn’t expect his granddaughter to stab Jie Baobao and cripple her spirit power.

Many people panicked. It was Jie Baobao they were talking about here. Even if she deserved to die, she should only be sentenced by the Mansion Master.

“Elder Ling Kun, surely there is no need to go this far? You can punish Jie Baobao if you want to, but you don’t have to implicate us in this,” an elder said.

He was from the same generation as Ling Kun, and they were on close terms.

Ling Kun unleashed a formation sword and decapitated that elder.

The crowd was dumbstruck. They didn’t expect Ling Kun to be so domineering.

“I have the Enforcement Token in hand. Doubting me is as good as doubting Lord Mansion Master. Is anyone else going to doubt my judgment as well?” Ling Kun asked.

The crowd knew that this was Ling Kun’s ploy. He wanted to drag as many people down with him, in hopes that Jie Tianran would spare them given that they were a large group.

But they had no choice but to do his bidding, since he had the Enforcement Token in hand.
