DAL...

Another halberd slashed down. At the same time, a golden dragon opened its mouth and roared. The oncoming group of gods clearly hadn’t expected such a move and froze for a brief moment. One of them was pierced straight through the abdomen by the halberd.

It seemed this weapon had been greatly improved over the years since prehistoric Blaine wielded it. Millions of years ago, Blaine had known that this trident couldn’t even pierce the armor of the Celestials. Now, however, it cut through them with ease.

Perhaps it was because of its current golden color, far more powerful than the previous silver form. Of course, one’s own strength was crucial, but a weapon that truly suited its master could amplify that strength by several levels. Crossing realms to challenge stronger enemies was no longer a problem.

After piercing through the Celestial, Blaine’s prehistoric self immediately released an energy shield. At the same time, his other hand activated the time stop, and his body shifted to another position in an instant.

Even so, despite everything happening at extreme speed, he was still a fraction too slow. The sense of danger around him remained intense. In the next second, Blaine felt his side go numb, as if his senses there had vanished. At some point, a long iron pestle had pierced through the energy shield and struck him.

Fortunately, Blaine’s actions weren’t in vain. He had avoided most of the attacks and neutralized more than half of the force behind the blow. Otherwise, that strike wouldn’t have merely fractured bones—it would have directly paralyzed his entire body. 𝑓𝘳𝑒𝑒𝓌𝘦𝘣𝘯ℴ𝑣𝘦𝑙.𝘤𝑜𝑚

Although Blaine’s eyes were now filled with killing intent, as if his head were nothing but boiling blood and reckless impulse, he knew his prehistoric self was always exceptionally cautious in battle. After all, his opponents were the Celestials. A single moment of carelessness could mean dying without even knowing how.

After widening the distance, Blaine discovered four more Celestials had appeared directly opposite him. No wonder the sense of danger had been coming from all directions. Combined with the Celestial group he had just pierced through, he was now facing five Celestials in total.

Blaine knew that although he had pierced one of them, he hadn’t had time to finish the kill. For beings of this level, a wound like that was no different from a finger being cut. They would soon return to normal.

Sure enough, just as Blaine felt his own wounds finish healing, the Celestial also returned to its original state. This damned self-healing ability was simply too monstrous.

Even with five Celestials facing him, Blaine didn’t hesitate in the slightest. After so many centuries, his strength was beyond description. It was absolutely impossible for him to have merely stagnated or improved by a trivial margin.

For others, the long river of time might gradually erode their abilities and energy. But with the Hunter System, Blaine had no such worries at all. This wasn’t retreating—it was advancing.

Before Blaine could fully come back to his senses, the two sides clashed again.

It seemed that the Celestials believed only the Bounty Hunters on Earth were worthy opponents. So when they saw Blaine catching up, they not only didn’t retreat, but grew interested instead.

However, no matter how strong they were, who among them wasn’t a heavyweight? After hundreds of exchanges, Blaine gradually realized that while he had expected to suffer somewhat against these Celestials, the fight was at least manageable—though undeniably strenuous.

However, the more he fought, the more shocked Blaine became. He had never expected that the prehistoric Bounty Hunter could not only withstand the combined assault of five Celestials, but even show faint signs of gaining the upper hand.

Aside from envy, Blaine had only two words in his heart to describe it.

Thinking about it more carefully, Blaine gradually understood why he was so ferocious at this moment.

Back on Earth, the prehistoric Bounty Hunter had nearly lost his mind in an extreme fit of rage after witnessing Black Panther’s death. He had forcibly activated life overdraft, burning his own blood in exchange for an explosive surge in power. However, Blaine knew all too well that this kind of strength was not truly his own, and it was bound to last only for a limited time.

If he failed to deal with the Celestials before that time ran out, then life and death would truly hang in the balance. It seemed that today’s outcome could only be one of two possibilities—the fall of the gods, or the death of the prehistoric Bounty Hunter.

Although Blaine understood this in principle, he hadn’t expected the turning point to arrive so quickly.

Under an assault from one of the incredibly fast Celestials, Blaine’s body was smashed directly onto the moon. In an instant, a ring-shaped crater tens of meters deep appeared on its surface.

Just moments ago, Blaine had been able to dodge attacks effortlessly and counter with ease. Now, in the blink of an eye, he had fallen into a complete disadvantage.

What followed was no longer Blaine’s time to perform. Instead, he was forced into a passive state. As the momentum of the prehistoric Bounty Hunter continued to sink, even passive resistance became impossible.

In just a few breaths, Blaine’s body was battered across the lunar surface like a sandbag. Blaine couldn’t help wondering whether the countless craters on the moon had been created this way...

It wasn’t just the moon that was riddled with craters. Blaine’s body itself was being brutally battered into a crippled state. Bones shattered and fractured. With every heavy blow from the opponent, Blaine spat out jets of blood nearly a foot high. His chest was already stained completely red, and even the Hunter suit seemed to be reaching its limit. The self-healing ability could no longer keep up with the speed of destruction.

Meanwhile, the enemy remained as ferocious as ever, unscathed as they looked back at him. Even Blaine’s resolute face was clenched tightly with gritted teeth. Unfortunately, he could do nothing. Otherwise, even if it meant death, no matter how weak he was, as long as he could buy time, Blaine would be willing.

When Blaine felt the prehistoric self forcefully control his body and launch it into flight once more, he clearly sensed a resolve to die.

Suddenly, Blaine noticed faint white light appearing throughout the universe, especially concentrated on the surface of the moon. It seemed to be continuously emitting something. Those specks of white light were once again absorbed by the trident, as though this were the rhythm of charging a final move.

Boom...

For some reason, Blaine felt a violent shock within his spirit, as if boundless power had once again been poured into his body. Perhaps it was Backlight 1.4. In an instant, Blaine’s physical form expanded several times over. Before he could even finish exhaling, his body had already appeared in front of one of the Celestials—the designated target of this must-kill strike.

DL...

A dragon’s roar echoed through the heavens. Although sound could not normally propagate through space, these sound waves had been transformed into reality, making them unmistakably real.
