Chapter 306: Chapter 306 Grin

Let’s wind the clock back a few minutes.

While David was giving the order for the Hulk Legion to transform and raid the Armored Division, the battle at the summit had already begun. The impatient A-Train, seeing Thor’s attention momentarily diverted by the spectacle of the mass-transformation, used his incredible speed to vault high into the air.

He gripped a custom-made, ultra-high-voltage cattle prod—a Joker organization specialty—and swung it with all his might against Thor’s jaw.

"Drop dead for me!"

CRACK-ZAP!

Electric sparks flared violently, accompanied by a piercing electrical hiss.

"Argh!"

Thor’s handsome face took the full brunt of the blow, his expression twisting in pain. While high-voltage current was little more than a tickle to him, the sheer physical weight of the prod made him cry out. The prod was forged from fragments of Vibranium sourced from Africa; in terms of hardness and durability, it was barely inferior to Mjolnir.

Thor clutched his face with one hand and swung his hammer with the other, rocketing higher into the sky. The blow hadn’t left a mark, but... damn, did it hurt.

Bastard, you dared to hit my face! Thor was fuming.

Just as he was preparing to strike back, he caught the scent of a light, floral perfume. In the next instant, a pair of hands rested on his shoulders. The owner of those hands was none other than Harley.

She knew very well that the key to this war wasn’t the Armored Division to the south, the Hulk at the foot of the mountain, or the five thousand Iron Man suits in the sky. It was this man—the one who fought Jason to a draw, the man who bore the name of the God of Thunder.

If they faced him head-on, even if all of them combined their strength, they wouldn’t be his match. He was the God of Thunder! In the entire universe, the number of beings qualified to exchange blows with him could be counted on one hand—excluding a cheater like Jason.

The only way was to neutralize him. They couldn’t overpower him, but they had to remove him from the board. It sounded impossible. But within the Joker organization, there happened to be one person who could pull it off.

"If you were to go on a trip, where would you want to go?" Harley whispered a nonsensical question.

Flash!

Before Thor could even open his mouth, his head spun. When he opened his eyes, he was in a completely foreign place. Darkness, strobe lights, a packed dance floor, and the thumping bass of house music.

"Bye-bye! Have a great time!" Harley waved and vanished with a shua.

Thor reached out to grab her, but he was a second too late. Thor needed to get back to the battlefield immediately, but he was an outsider—he didn’t even know which way. How was he supposed to get back?

As he stood there in an anxious daze, the crowd below erupted in cheers.

"Oh my god! Where did this guy come from?"

"I didn’t see him move! Is this that legendary teleportation trick?"

"I bet he works for the club. Look at that costume!"

"Wow! Look at his arms! Those muscles are rock solid!"

"Up close, he’s actually really hot. I’m down!"

"Hey! Handsome! Give us a pole dance!"

Thor’s sudden appearance had reignited the crowd’s energy. Men and women alike waved and shouted at him, but because the music was so loud, he couldn’t make out a single word. He crouched down at the edge of the stage. "Hey! Woman! I have a question!"

"AAAAHHH!" The woman he addressed squealed with excitement, wrapped her arms around his neck, and pulled him into a fierce, wet kiss.

Mercy... are all the girls on Earth this forward? For a split second, Thor considered abandoning Asgard to move to Earth permanently.

FUCK! What am I thinking?! Thor pushed her away. "Excuse me, do you know—"

He stopped. He didn’t even know the name of the place he was trying to get back to. Thor’s face paled. His heart sank. He regretted everything. Nick had tried to give him an earpiece, but he had rejected it, complaining it felt uncomfortable. Now, he was truly alone and cut off.

Father, what do I do?

"Fuck! Who are you?" While Thor was lost in thought, several burly men climbed onto the stage, carrying tools of the trade.

Right! They have those ’phone’ things. I can make them contact S.H.I.E.L.D.! Reinvigorated, Thor beamed a wide smile and walked toward the kind-hearted bouncers.

Flash!

Harley warped back to the summit.

"Done?" A-Train asked.

Harley smirked. "Right now, he’s enjoying some earthly delights."

Alex said excitedly, "Great! That just leaves these two from S.H.I.E.L.D." He looked down at the Hulk charging up the mountain. "How do we split them? I’ve got dice!"

John flinched and stopped him. "Be serious! This is a war of life and death, not a tournament." As a former top-tier assassin, John was meticulously cautious. If there was an opening, even a tiny one, he wouldn’t leave it for the enemy.

Harley waved them off. "I need to keep an eye on Thor’s location. You four take them."

A-Train was the first to raise his hand. "I want the girl."

John looked at David. "Then... we’ll team up." Both of them, along with Harley, had participated in the previous capture of the Hulk; they understood his power. John’s freezing and David’s ultrasonics were the perfect counters.

David nodded. "Agreed."

That left Alex with no choice. He shrugged. "Fine, I’ll take the girl too." He knew John and David’s powers were area-of-effect; he didn’t want to get caught in the crossfire.

John: "Settled. Harley, give us a lift."

"Done!" Harley placed her hands on them.

Hulk was sprinting up the mountain with Natasha in his arms when five figures suddenly flickered into existence before him.

"Get down!"

Alex immediately shifted into Hammer-fist form, slamming his massive fists into the Hulk. Hulk had no time to react; the blow caught him square in the forehead, sending him tumbling backward.

BOOM!

His massive frame crashed into the dirt, snapping several trees, yet he still shielded Natasha in his embrace.

"Hulk!" Natasha scrambled to her feet, drawing her custom handguns and firing at the group.

BANG BANG BANG!

"Haha! Time to work!" A-Train shouted with glee.

In an instant, time seemed to freeze. Natasha’s rounds moved forward at a snail’s pace.

"Hehe!" A-Train gave a lewd grin, flicking the bullets out of the air. Then, he scooped Natasha up by the waist and sprinted toward the dense treeline.
