Chapter 669: Chapter 669: The Plan to Kill Xueman and An Bai

Qin Qing and Leng Yue calmly watched Xueman. Neither of them was an ordinary girl.

Qin Qing was a business tycoon who had been schemed against for ten years, forcing her to develop an extremely cautious personality. As for Leng Yue, the Commander of the Blood Cloth Guards under Huang Quan, she was even less to be trifled with. She had seen countless people and killed just as many. The two of them only had to see the sickeningly sweet smile on Xueman’s face to realize something was amiss.

From the very first day they met her, Xueman had never acted this way toward them, let alone offered to treat them to a meal.

When something seems this unusual, there’s bound to be a trap.

"Alright, then let’s go!" Qin Qing said with a smile.

Leng Yue was stunned for a moment. She couldn’t believe that Qin Qing hadn’t seen through the deception. Since she had agreed, it must mean she had already figured out Xueman’s plot.

So, she simply said, "Lead the way!"

"Yes, yes, this way please!" Seeing that Qin Qing and Leng Yue had agreed, Xueman was ecstatic and hurriedly led the way.

As they followed behind, Leng Yue discreetly texted Qin Qing, "Xueman inviting us to a meal has to be a trap."

Qin Qing replied, "Kristina wants to kill us, but she’s too afraid to enter the Abandoned City because it’s full of Mutated Beasts. So, she sent Xueman to lure us out."

It instantly dawned on Leng Yue. To think she hadn’t figured it out herself! The Young Mistress’s way of thinking was truly on another level.

"Xueman, do you know the meaning of the phrase ’a smile that hides a dagger’?" Qin Qing asked.

Xueman pretended to think for a moment. "Hahaha, a dagger, hahaha?"

Qin Qing: "..."

Leng Yue: "..."

Xueman felt a little nervous. Of course, she knew what ’a smile that hides a dagger’ meant. For Qin Qing to ask her this... could she have seen through her plan? No, that’s not right! If she had seen through it, she wouldn’t have come with me! After thinking it over, Xueman concluded that Qin Qing must be suspicious and was deliberately using an idiom to test her, hoping she would slip up.

"So, what do you two like to eat?" she asked, trying to distract them with conversation so they wouldn’t have time to think.

"We’re not picky. As long as it’s a feast, we’re happy," Qin Qing said.

"That makes it easy. Let me tell you about all the delicious food in the city..."

Xueman chattered on and on, so much so that by the time the three of them had left the Abandoned City and were walking down a dilapidated, abandoned highway, she still hadn’t finished. Then, she suddenly fell silent.

"Why did you stop talking?" Qin Qing asked.

"There’s no need anymore!" Xueman, who was walking in front, stopped and turned around, a mocking expression on her face as she looked at Qin Qing and Leng Yue.

The next moment, Kristina, Ming Yue, and An Bai leaped out from the bushes by the side of the road.

Kristina said with approval, "Well done, Xueman. You actually managed to trick them out here."

"They’re just a couple of naive fools. Deceiving them was no challenge at all," Xueman said smugly.

"Qin Qing, Leng Yue, you two really are idiots," Kristina said coldly. "If you had stayed holed up in the Abandoned City, I couldn’t have done a thing to you. But now that you’re out, you won’t be going back."

"What do you mean by that?" Qin Qing asked, feigning ignorance.

"I mean, I’m going to kill you!" Kristina ordered. "Xueman, An Bai, go! Cripple them! Ming Yue and I will finish them off ourselves!"

"As you command!"

Xueman and An Bai accepted the order and charged at full speed toward Qin Qing and Leng Yue.

"Hmph!"

Leng Yue snorted coldly. With a flick of her finger, she remotely struck Kristina’s sleep acupoint.

The charging Xueman and An Bai slammed on the brakes, watching in shock as Kristina fell to the ground. They hadn’t even seen Leng Yue’s remote attack.

This doesn’t make any sense! And why would she knock out the little princess first?

"Can’t figure out why Leng Yue knocked out Kristina?" Qin Qing asked playfully. Before Xueman and An Bai could answer, she continued, "There are some things Kristina shouldn’t see or hear. Leng Yue, make your move!"

BANG! BANG!

Qin Qing had barely finished speaking, and Xueman and An Bai were still trying to process her words when they were suddenly struck by a powerful force in their chests. Both of them spat blood as they were sent flying backward, landing heavily on the ground. They were so severely injured they couldn’t even get back up.

"Impossible... this is impossible... You... how are you so strong?"

Xueman and An Bai stared at Leng Yue, their faces etched with utter disbelief.

"It was your own arrogance and foolishness that made you think my Young Mistress and I were merely Third Realm War Gods," Leng Yue said, her face devoid of expression.

That one sentence was packed with information.

Young Mistress? Leng Yue called Qin Qing ’Young Mistress’?

"I get it now," Xueman realized with a start. "You were never Ye Xiu’s second wife. The two of you let me and An Bai kidnap you on purpose."

An Bai also understood. "You were playing along with our plan to get to Biluo Island. You’re Ye Xiu’s advance party."

"Finally figured it out, just before you die," Qin Qing said with a cold smile. She walked over to them, stomped on An Bai’s neck and snapped it, then moved her foot to Xueman’s neck. "Without a car, by the time we walked from the Abandoned City to the city proper, it would be late enough for a midnight snack. Besides, the entire island has no electricity. Once it gets dark, all the restaurants close. Did you invite us to the city to go chew on the restaurant doors?"

Hearing Qin Qing’s words, Xueman’s face turned ashen.

So Qin Qing had known from the very beginning that her invitation was a trap. Qin Qing and Leng Yue had been playing along just so they could kill her and An Bai and lure out Kristina and Ming Yue.

"I underestimated you," Xueman said with a bitter smile.

"Be smarter in your next life." Qin Qing decisively crushed Xueman’s neck.

Watching Qin Qing kill two people without a change in her expression, a chill ran down Ming Yue’s spine. Was this the same Qin Qing he knew? When had she become so ruthlessly decisive?

"Ming Yue, long time no see," Qin Qing said calmly, her cool gaze fixed on him.

"Ahem, long time no see. Uh, it was Ye Xiu who told me to stay by Kristina’s side. I... I’m working for Ye Xiu," Ming Yue said with a forced, nervous laugh.

"I know," Qin Qing nodded, then asked, "You know what to tell Kristina when she wakes up, right?"

Ming Yue’s mind raced. "I’ll say that at the critical moment, a pack of beasts appeared and saved you, and that Xueman and An Bai told me to take Kristina and leave first?"

"That explanation isn’t perfect," Qin Qing stated. "Just say that Leng Yue and I advanced to the Fourth Realm. Although we were still no match for Xueman and An Bai, we managed to hold them off until a beast army arrived. You were all surrounded by the beast army, so Xueman and An Bai covered the rear while telling you to escape with Kristina."

"Alright, I’ll tell her exactly that," Ming Yue nodded.

Qin Qing stared at Ming Yue, and truth be told, she desperately wanted to kill him. Although Ming Yue hadn’t been the mastermind behind the plot to frame Ye Xiu ten years ago, he was the one who had ordered the hit that killed Ye Xiu’s mother and maternal grandparents. Neither the Shen Family, the Long Family, the Ye Family, nor Zheng Yiwen had ordered their deaths. It was all Ming Yue’s own decision.

"How did you and Kristina get on the island?"

Ultimately, Qin Qing restrained herself from killing Ming Yue. Ye Xiu had told her not to, which meant he must still have a use for him.
