Meteor Fall Master in the 'Starry Abyss'
Chapter 1381: Finale of the Tides: Selfhood_4
"Because we want to, don't ask if we can. We will do it, we want to change this world, no reason, that's what I want! I will defy the world that uses various conditions to bind us from doing things, it's just that damn simple!"
"In this decaying world, as long as you rebel, it is already meaningful in itself."
"Follow desire and the heart, rather than being hijacked by reason, going against instinct—this is a privilege that belongs to us mortals."
"Come on, Li Aozi, don't ask if you can, I only ask if you want to!"
"No! Mat!ter! Right! or! Wrong!"
Silence.
When Nomi shouted that sentence, regardless of right or wrong, the entire world fell into silence. A deathly stillness enveloped the sky above the Border Abyss, the universe was muted, leaves moved without a whisper of wind, birds flapping silent wings.
In this Mysterious silence, a magnificent pressure instantly descended from all directions, like a shackle firmly suppressing the earth of the Border Abyss.
Ha!
Suddenly, the silence was shattered by a laugh.
"Right or wrong? What a phrase, right or wrong!"
Nomi and the others instinctively retreated, only to see Li Aozi stand up from the threshold, look up, and laugh a few times, with a flick of his sleeve, he immediately transformed into a cultivator in white robe and black cloak, red lips, white teeth, sharp brows, starry eyes, robes fluttering in the wind. In an instant, the barren yellow earth of a million miles peeled off the ground and ascended to the clouds, with mist swirling at his feet, gazing afar at the boundless beauty of mountains and rivers, everywhere like a utopia.
Upon another look, the dilapidated house was long gone, replaced by hundreds of high towers, starry palaces, and Taoist temples, packed with cultivators seeking immortality and understanding the Dao. Between the pavilions and marketplaces, people reciting sutras, meditating, practicing martial arts and discoursing on the Dao. Nine Dragons Spouting Water filling the heavenly pool, Giant Spirits hammering to forge divine weapons, phoenixes and larks perching on sycamores to rest, with myriad spirit beasts, spirit plants, and spirit vegetables, wondrous realms and dharma gates connecting myriad worlds, traversed by Western gods and Buddhas, subterranean demons, Great Golden Immortals, and Yama Asuras.
What was once a rundown rural house, is clearly a celestial kingdom where gods, demons, immortals, and mortals dwell together under one roof.
"Your intentions, I have understood."
Li Aozi stood with arms behind, accompanied by seventy-seven Taoist boys, appearing as a truly enlightened immortal with a fresh and ethereal aura:
"But there are some things I must tell you early."
"I am not the same as my original form, Leoz. Though born from a facet of human nature, taking the name 'Truly,' I practiced martial arts and the Dao from the beginning, cultivating energy and learning techniques, from the nation of Red Arrow within the Layer Abyss, training all the way to here, becoming an authentic Golden Immortal at the age of 230. Twenty years ago, after my original form became the [Star Overlord], I, too, submerged into the Mass Abyss, breaking through boundaries, becoming a True God."
"I am the [Boundless Celestial Honor], overseeing the Boundless Sea of Law, mastering countless Divine Skills, establishing the Boundless Fairy Palace, educating the world. From then on, split from the original form into two. His Dao is already different from mine."
"I just understood what you spoke, though I have the intention, I am powerless. The human aspect of Leoz had long severed the three corpses, comprehended the heavenly Dao, Ascension to Divinity, even if I and the original form merge into one, I wouldn't let Leoz turn back into Li Aozi."
This series of changes left the three people staring at each other in confusion.
"Then, what should we do?" Dialan frowned, "Without Li Aozi's human restriction, Leoz will definitely transform into Arstala."
"Not so."
Li Aozi—or rather, [Boundless Celestial Honor] chuckled, explaining:
"The Philosopher King of the Empire instructed you to find me, not merely to bring me to Leoz, but to make you come here."
As he spoke, he pointed at Nomi. The latter was startled, pointing at herself:
"Me?"
"Yes, exactly you, little Nomi."
Nomi stood there bewildered:
"But, what does this have to do with me..."
"Because you," the Celestial Honor said, "you are also Arstala."
Nomi stood dumbfounded in place.
"Are you joking?"
The Celestial Honor's expression grew serious, before asking:
"Have you ever thought about what Arstala is?"
"Isn't it, a more terrifying Destroyer?"
"Arstala is a Will, a will to rebel against everything, just that simple, as long as there is rebellion in the heart, it will continue forever. To defeat Arstala, it has never been suppression and violence, but happiness and fulfillment."
The Celestial Honor continued:
"You and Leoz are both hosts of Arstala, but Arstala can only manifest in one. The different Arstalas manifest in different forms."
"If Leoz becomes Arstala, what will manifest is tremendous destructive power, destroying all existence stronger than itself—because this is its underlying logic, the inequity among people stems from differing comprehensive strengths, so it encourages the poor to kill all the rich, take everything from them, balance the wealth, keeping Society forever under its absolute violent dominion, everyone half dead, neither rich nor poor living in survival, without inequity."
"While your notion of rebelling against injustice is not as cruel as Leoz: surviving, witnessing everything well, suppressing evil uplifting good, even without capability, struggling to let the other party see the pain that oppression of the lower class causes. It functions like a preaching, Punishment kind of Institution."
"The Philosopher King of the Empire did not find a way to eliminate Arstala, because as long as the will to rebel exists, it will not extinguish, and as long as the world is rich and diverse, there will forever be inequity, even within Society, there are differences between the Speaker, Senator, Jury, and Citizen, it's just that they live a little happier."
"However, those who rebel have many opportunities to change."
