Rednaya watched the scene before her quietly.

Has all of this happened before?

In the height of summer, the Colorado Plateau would have turned a fierce crimson. But now the banks of the valley were filled with black wings and green fire. Were there a thousand, five thousand? Or tens of thousands of Outer Realm demons, gathered upon the red stone beach.

Lowly inferior demons crawled out from the polluted ground, swiftly transporting supplies, while Bone Demons encased in skeletal armor constructed a skeletal altar under the guidance of several Desecration Priests, pushing prisoners and lambs forward. Amidst malevolent mutterings and maddening chants, the flesh melted like boiling chocolate into a pool of dirty blood, followed by the wails and cries of babies, as countless Demon Worms crawled out from the blood pool.

Even the dullest of people could see the intention of these Outer Realm Demons: they were sacrificing living souls, not just polluting the land with the winds of Outer Realms, but aiming to reshuffle human existence, turning the living into resources to transform into their kind, expanding their army to conquer the land, as they once did to the indigenous people of this continent.

The demons' form always graceful, their gestures filled with an aura of nobility; every demon officer's attire was more splendid and dignified than the gentlemen of the British Empire. If certain self-proclaimed national conscience figures from inferior civilizations saw the demons cutting into living bodies, they'd surely be moved to tears and scold their compatriots for not embracing civilization.

Yet Rednaya was not concerned with these things.

Her focus was on the distant horizon.

—From afar, a haze of smoke slowly rose on the horizon.

Cowboys? Impossible. Perhaps a group of peddlers? Yet in these chaotic times, which peddler would dare stray from the main road?

As the demons puzzled over this strange smoke, the senior officers had already noticed the approaching dust cloud. A Centurion glanced in the direction of the dust and immediately made a judgment:

"It's not passing through; it's coming straight for us."

"Us?" his colleague sneered. "You must be joking, how could these primitive ether men without poison blood dare charge at us?"

"No, I can confirm it. Though few in number, their speed is incredibly fast, and their purpose crystal clear—heading directly for us." The Centurion said solemnly, "I'll report to the superiors, everyone else prepare for interception!"

Having said that, the Centurion hurried off. At the same time, the Stone-statue Ghost squad circling above also noticed the fiercely incoming smoke. Their ruby eyes began to focus, attempting to use Detection Magic to lock on the presence within the smoke when several black lightning bolts tore across the Stone-statue Ghosts' shells, racing to the skies, shattering the dense clouds and revealing the sunset-stained blue sky.

Whoosh————Boom!

It was now that the piercing shriek and sonic boom arrived, belatedly.

The shattered granite armor rained down, but the culprit of the Stone-statue Ghosts' downfall continued its charge skyward, tracing reverse comet trails through the air — only now did the demons realize that what struck the Stone-statue Ghost wasn't lightning, but a Tungsten Steel Spear.

But the time for shock for them was shorter than life itself.

In an instant, the earth trembled, and the crimson valley ground was devoured by a storm. Countless newly spawned demons barely had time to turn on each other before they were swept skyward, shredded into fragments by the storm's high-speed pull and friction. 𝐟𝕣𝗲𝕖𝕨𝗲𝐛𝗻𝗼𝐯𝗲𝚕.𝗰𝚘𝐦

The demons' instinct is faster than their thoughts, quickly forming battle formations to defend, even as some scrambled into shelter, and others organized into Magic Formation, began firing orderly towards the presence within the storm.

Yet the next moment, whether fighting back or evading, they realized, with stark clarity, that all they did was futile.

Clatter clatter clatter da da da da—!

Even as the storm was weathered, barely having time to savor the brief peace, the explosive hoofbeats suddenly crashed like a flood or tsunami, hitting them head-on, as the demon army hastily raised their heads: beneath the storm, a troop of silver-armored knights ruthlessly trampled through the crimson river waters, their elongated shadows stretched by the setting sun, casting their grim silhouettes everywhere.

The knights in the front row leveled their long guns, directly piercing the shield-holding demons of defense, and even the flame-enwrapped Flame Demons appeared like soft butter before these heavy armor-like knights, trampled underfoot in an instant.

Following closely behind were a batch of lightly armed Dragon Cavalry, who merely by standing on their stirrups, allowed their warhorses to leap over the barricade of corpses ahead, naming the demons behind each hideout with their carbines, swinging and slashing with their sabers, driving the dispersing escapees to wail.

Just two waves of knights plunged into the camp, and the entire army formation felt like a dagger stabbed into the heart, guiding the Dragon Cavalry to open fire. The sentinels and flying units barely had time to counterattack when they took a spear to the chest, sent flying with their shields and all./p>

Rednaya watched indifferently as the demons were slaughtered.

The one she truly watched for had yet to arrive.

Those who devour men at will, capable of destroying hundreds of thousands of people's homes, surviving artillery and nuclear bombings — at this moment, were like pigs and dogs, slaughtered recklessly by knights.
