Chapter 1073: Spirit Magic

The Elf immediately released her bow; the arrow, made of pure lightning, tore forward like a thunderbolt, straight towards Anthony’s chest, its speed so immense that it distorted the air around it, but the moment it got close, Anthony simply raised a hand and a portal opened before him, swallowing the attack whole without resistance, as though it had never existed in the first place.

Before the Elf could even understand what was happening, another portal opened beside her, and from it, her arrow tore outward, streaking towards her head at an even more terrifying speed; her reaction was immediate, a mana barrier opened around her at the last second, and with cataclysmic impact, the lightning arrow exploded outward upon contact, a burst of lightning spanning ten kilometres tore outwards in the sky, illuminating everything in its path and shaking the very atmosphere.

The Werewolf, Fairy, and the Zombie were already gone; they had moved the moment they saw the portal manifest, so they escaped uninjured. The storm of smoke and lightning gradually cleared, and from it, the Elf could be seen, bleeding profusely as her entire arm and a portion of her chest had been blown apart by her own attack, her body trembling slightly despite her attempt to remain composed.

Although she had blocked at the last possible moment, it was not enough; besides, if she had not even blocked, she would have died instantly to her own attack without any chance of survival. Without missing a beat, a healing potion appeared in her hand, which she drank without hesitation; she was healed within seconds, her flesh regenerating rapidly as though nothing had happened.

Now, the assassins’ eyes were filled with vigilance and caution, as they had underestimated their opponent and one of them had already paid the price for that mistake.

The next moment, Bryan and the others appeared beside Anthony as they had come to watch the battle, completely unbothered about mistakenly dying, as they knew none of that would happen in Anthony’s presence, their trust in his strength absolute and unwavering.

Anthony planned to use only Origin-level strength for this battle; he would simply entertain himself for a few minutes before he finished them off completely. With that thought, he vanished from where he stood, appearing near the Zombie in a blip of motion, his foot screaming towards the Zombie’s chest with terrifying force; the Zombie couldn’t even react, Anthony’s foot detonated against the Zombie’s chest with the force of a missile, shooting the man from the sky, and with a deafening boom, the Zombie crashed into the ground, forming a deep crater upon impact, the earth itself splitting under the force.

[Spirit Magic: Poisonous Mist]

Elves were not the only ones who could access Spirit Magic; unlike the Elf race, every Fairy could use Spirit Magic and Spirit Arts with remarkable proficiency, their affinity for spiritual energy being naturally superior.

Spiritual Energy converged around Anthony as a black and purple mist formed around him, attempting to poison him to death, the toxic cloud spreading rapidly, but Anthony simply swapped positions with the Werewolf, vanishing from the attack and allowing the Werewolf to taste his own teammate’s attack without any form of resistance, turning their coordination against them effortlessly.

Without missing a beat, Anthony acted as he cast his own spell, his movements fluid and precise.

[Spirit Magic: Annihilation Beam]

Spiritual Energy converged around his palm, concentrating into a potent and destructive force that distorted the surrounding space, and without hesitation, Anthony pointed his palm towards the Fairy, unleashing a colossal beam of Spiritual Energy that tore through the sky like a divine judgment.

The Fairy’s eyes widened in shock; this was the first time he was witnessing a Human capable of using Spirit Magic with such mastery. But his surprise did not slow his reaction, he cancelled his poison spell and cast another immediately, his instincts kicking in.

[Spirit Magic: Fairy Guardian]

Immediately, a green barrier formed around the Fairy with swift precision, layers of spiritual energy reinforcing it, and with cataclysmic impact, Anthony’s beam collapsed upon the barrier, and like a hammer against an egg, the barrier shattered with ease, unable to withstand the overwhelming force; Anthony’s beam slammed into the Fairy instantly with erasing force, and before the Fairy could even speak or react further, he was erased from existence entirely by Anthony’s attack, leaving nothing behind but dispersing energy.

Although Anthony was limiting himself to the Origin Mana Rank, it was still impossible for those at the same rank to even hope of matching him, the gap between them vast and insurmountable, as his mastery far exceeded theirs.

Seeing the death of one of them, the remaining three assassins did not hesitate; they immediately fled without hesitation, each streaking in different directions at full speed, abandoning any thought of completing their mission as survival became their only priority.

Anthony smirked faintly and gave chase; in a blur of motion, he crossed kilometres effortlessly as he appeared beside the Elf, but the Elf did not hesitate, the moment Anthony was beside her, she lashed out with her bow, swinging it towards his head with brutal force and refined technique, her instincts sharpened by experience.

Anthony simply sidestepped as he dodged with ridiculous ease, his movements almost casual, his mana flowing from his core and forming a bow of his own in an instant; a lightning attribute arrow appeared on his bowstring, crackling with energy, and at point-blank range, he unleashed his attack without hesitation.

And like a thunderstorm incarnate, the Elf was swallowed by the attack, the crackling sounds of a raging lightning storm booming across the forest as everything within a ten-kilometre radius was erased into burning ash, leaving nothing but scorched devastation.

Anthony vanished from where he stood once more, his body blurring as he raced towards the Zombie; he already knew that the man had not died and had survived that earlier kick due to his resilience. But the moment Anthony closed the distance, the Zombie immediately pulled out an orb and crushed it; it was one of his life-saving artefacts. Immediately, space bent around the Zombie, about to teleport it to its pre-marked destination as a means of escape.

But at the end of the day, Anthony possessed greater control over space itself; he simply seized control over the space the artefact was manipulating, overriding its function and rendering the artefact completely useless, cutting off the escape route instantly. 𝒇𝙧𝙚𝓮𝔀𝓮𝒃𝙣𝓸𝒗𝒆𝒍.𝙘𝒐𝒎

Anthony’s hand landed on the Zombie’s head as he spoke with a chilling tone, "Since your race likes forcefully converting people into zombies through your Zombie Virus, how about you try this virus," he activated his Quantum Manipulation and created a virus on the spot with terrifying ease, and through his physical contact with the Zombie, Anthony transferred the virus into the Zombie without resistance.

The Zombie immediately began to convulse violently, its body shaking uncontrollably as it stared at Anthony with pleading eyes, but Anthony showed no mercy, and with that, the virus melted the Zombie’s body into an acrid-smelling liquid mass of decaying flesh and pus, leaving behind nothing but a grotesque residue that slowly dissolved into the ground.

Anthony’s eyes shifted once more, the Werewolf was the last remaining assassin, the fastest of all of them; the man had already covered over two hundred kilometres in distance within a couple of seconds, his speed reaching extraordinary levels. But his speed was still nothing compared to Anthony’s; with a single step, Anthony had already closed the distance between him and the Werewolf effortlessly, appearing beside him as though space itself had folded.

Anthony raised a hand, his fingernails extending as they transformed into Werewolf claws, mimicking the very nature of his opponent, and with ridiculous ease, he swiped across the Werewolf’s throat; the Werewolf saw the attack coming, but its instincts and racially superior reaction time were utterly useless before absolute power and speed, rendering all resistance futile.

And with unsettling ease and a grotesque squelch, Anthony’s claws tore through both flesh and bone like a knife through butter, severing life in an instant, leaving no room for struggle or retaliation.

Anthony stood in silence, crimson blood dripping slowly from his transformed fingernails, his expression calm and indifferent as though nothing significant had occurred. Within the span of a single minute, he had wiped out four Origin Mana Rank assassins, all while using their own specialties against them.
