Monsters Are Coming
Chapter 1294 - 339: Value of Existence, Evil Eye Returns_3
Taking a deep breath under the Waxing Moon, the air filled with energy, it decided not to think about these issues for the time being.
Next, it should focus on the repair of the Evil Eye Tower.
What puzzled it was that the Player Clan, which usually frequented the area, had completely disappeared in the past two days.
Similar situations were not unheard of.
Players would occasionally disappear for a period and then return in a more magnificent manner on some day.
However, this time, it seemed they intentionally avoided its weakest stage.
The Player Clan’s erratic behavior was the norm, and it couldn’t be bothered to figure out where they had gone or why they didn’t strike while it was down.
Without the Evil Eye, its combat power had plummeted, and it had to repair the damaged tower first.
Even without players, danger could descend at any time.
The tower was crucial for its self-preservation.
Thinking of this, the Earth Thought Evil Spirit raised its hand.
Suddenly, black energy surged from the tower’s cracks, like viscous ink, slowly crawling over the cracked outer wall of the tower.
Wherever the energy flowed, the shattered bricks emitted a low hum.
The repair process was very slow.
The tower had self-healing capabilities, but many delicate structures needed hands-on attention.
During this time, every crack needed to be carefully filled with Black Tide Energy, and every damaged area needed its structure reconstructed.
If the Evil Eye were present, it wouldn’t even need to worry about this process.
The Evil Eye would autonomously complete this incredibly tedious repair task.
Currently, without the precise calculations of the Evil Eye, it could only rely on itself to observe and guide the flow of the Black Tide.
Only by trying it personally did it realize how difficult it was.
During the repair process, the flow of Black Tide Energy could deviate significantly, sometimes accumulating into twisted tumors in some areas, or dissipating too weakly at crucial points, rendering the repair efforts futile.
Without the Evil Eye, avoiding errors completely was impossible. 𝚏𝗿𝗲𝐞𝚠𝕖𝐛𝗻𝗼𝐯𝕖𝚕.𝚌𝗼𝗺
However, it did not become impatient.
It began patiently smoothing out every uneven spot on the tower, reinforcing each fragile node.
Occasionally, it would stop its actions and look up outside the tower.
Without the Evil Eye, although it could still extend its perception outward, it couldn’t expand its perception view to cover the Emperor Tomb Mountain Range, limiting its range to the surrounding area.
So it chose to use its eyes to observe distant situations.
This behavior seemed habitual.
It always felt like the beastly players would sweep in, so it couldn’t help but glance toward the direction from which players might arrive.
The fact was, the Emperor Tomb Mountain Range region had completely lost the presence of players.
This unusual silence, on the contrary, made it feel somewhat uncomfortable.
Time flew by amidst the repairs.
During this period, the Four Great Evil Spirits in the alliance also sent Black Tide Energy acquired through plunder.
It used all this Black Tide Energy on the tower repair, striving to restore the tower to a perfect state.
Two days later, the repair was still ongoing.
The Earth Thought Evil Spirit stood before a huge gap at the waist of the tower.
This was the location of a direct hit from the Civilization Army, with cracks almost running through the entire tower.
It placed its hands on the edge of the gap, and Black Tide Energy spread from its palms like a web, weaving a temporary support structure in the void.
As energy was infused, the shattered bricks began to wriggle, piecing back together as if alive.
The process was unusually taxing.
Blood mixed with dark red energy slid down its temple, and its newly formed body trembled with overload.
Without the Evil Eye, life as an Evil Spirit was insufferable.
The tasks that the Evil Eye could complete in a fraction of a second required it to use primitive means, repeatedly scanning, inspecting, and polishing with spiritual power.
Many seemingly simple nodes had genuinely complex issues in terms of repair processes.
Energy flow values, structural thresholds, Black Tide Energy repair decay... these all turned into thorny problems.
This was just one of the issues.
The most severe problem was the lack of judgment.
For many incomprehensible questions, it couldn’t give answers like the Evil Eye could at any time.
These problems required it to access the node database and look up information.
The vast amount of information inside was simply not meant for the Evil Spirit to read; finding relevant knowledge required repeatedly searching different contents.
The time spent on reading alone was tremendous.
At this moment, it missed the familiar voice of the Evil Eye in its mind.
With it around, all it needed to do was throw up its hands and nothing else.
The Evil Eye would provide a brief repair completion feedback after a rapid repair.
But no matter how difficult, the Earth Thought Evil Spirit didn’t stop, as this concerned its safety before the Evil Eye arrived.
Only with the tower repaired would it have the ability to control the Black Tide to generate Evil Spirit Soldiers.
Until this gap was fully patched, it returned to the platform of the tower, lying down and panting heavily.
Several minutes later, the Earth Thought Evil Spirit went back to work.
This time it was repairing one of the most challenging core nodes, the conversion node connecting the tower to the "Destruction Temple (Soldier Type Library)."
The Black Tide’s rapid generation and transformation of Evil Spirit Soldiers at will were aided by this node.
During repair attempts, the Earth Thought Evil Spirit found itself confused about what the structure of this node was.
This damn conversion node was like a tangled web; no amount of Black Tide Energy injected seemed to work.
It gave a feeling of energy, yet nowhere to release it.
It didn’t even know what means to use to complete the repair project.
Just as it was thinking of asking allied node connections for Assistant Eye support,
a familiar voice echoed in its mind:
"I’m familiar with this, let me handle it."
The Earth Thought Evil Spirit jerked its head up, only to see the Waxing Moon above the tower bursting with brilliant light, blood-colored moon glow pouring down like a waterfall, forming a rotating pillar of light at the center of the platform.
Countless tiny fragments glimmered within the light pillar, repeating rotations and gatherings, gradually outlining familiar pupil contours and wiggling tentacles.
This was the Evil Eye reborn through over-the-limit resurrection.
"Earth Thought, long time no see."
The halo transmitted the Evil Eye’s greeting.
Upon hearing this, the Earth Thought Evil Spirit replied coldly:
"Now that you’re back, hurry up and get to work. The task of repairing the tower is yours."
The Blood Light dispersed at this moment, and the Evil Eye descended onto the tower platform through the Evil Moon relay, looking the same as before, unchanged.
Faced with its command, the Evil Eye blinked and nodded in its familiar tone:
"OJBK, I’ll fix it in no time."
With that, the Evil Eye extended its tentacles to connect to the tower, causing the tower to tremble violently.
Like a dying giant beast suddenly regaining its heartbeat, the Black Tide swirled rapidly around the tower, healing the nodes it had struggled to repair.
Afterward, the Black Tide Energy surged toward other damaged nodes.
The Earth Thought Evil Spirit stood in place, watching the busy figure, a slight smile unintentionally forming at the corner of its mouth.
The Player slang used by the Evil Eye was proof that the returning figure was indeed the familiar Evil Eye.
