Monsters Are Coming
Chapter 1309 - 343: Accelerated Approval, Severing the Past
The arrival of new forces on Earth has sparked heated discussions on the networks of various races.
Every arrival event presents a significant challenge to the Earth Alliance.
During interactions with the Alien Race, conflicts and clashes can easily arise.
For instance, during the last arrival event, the Moon Eclipse Clan had just dispatched their mental communication robot to connect, only to be met with a fierce assault from mysterious forces.
But the most typical example is the arrival event of the Rock Shell Clan two hundred years ago.
This race had just completed temporary registration and demanded exclusive rights to mine the Pacific Ocean seabed, even threatening to charge other races for seabed passage.
At the negotiation table, their Clan Leader was adamant and refused to compromise, insisting that they would rather go to war than accept a small piece of allocated land.
The stubbornness of the Rock Shell Clan Leader only relented when the Moon Eclipse Clan deployed the Orbital Cannon Array and fired a round, bringing them to the negotiating table earnestly.
There was also the more absurd arrival event of the Symbiotic Clan.
This race, upon gaining temporary identity, proposed parasitizing other races, under the guise of "promoting civilization integration."
But this parasitism essentially involved leeching nutrients from the host, something the Earth Alliance’s races could never agree to.
Eventually, the issue was resolved with shows of force.
Next, there was the Tianyu Clan from those years.
This group preferred to reside in the sky, and upon gaining temporary resident status, initiated a Floating Islands creation plan, claiming they wouldn’t compete for surface space with ground races.
Although seemingly a good plan, it actually harbored various risks.
Firstly, the enormous airspace the Floating Islands occupied affected the airspace navigation of other races, and then there were the light rights of major cities.
When a Floating Island hovered over a city, the underlying city faced prolonged darkness and disrupted satellite signal reception.
Under similar forceful pressure, the Tianyu Clan abandoned this plan and instead anchored their Floating Islands over oceanic regions.
Many modern races call themselves "Earthlings," but none of their ancestors arrived without their own agendas.
History textbooks of various races romanticize that period of crisis as "civilization integration," downplaying the initial smoke on the negotiation table.
And negotiations between clans are always established on the basis of force.
It was the formidable display of strength by the Moon Eclipse Clan that turned the conquerors’ ambitions into signatures on the Earth Alliance Charter.
This still pertains to the more communicative groups.
Though there were unpleasant encounters before, in this culturally coherent modern era, many issues are no longer problematic.
The new generations of various races spar online, but deep down, they believe that in the face of an invasion arrival, the Earth Alliance should unite against the external threat.
The most absurd are those races that, without any attempts at dialogue, commence warfare upon arrival.
Even though for most civilians on Earth, engaging in external warfare has long lost its meaning.
Yet every war that breaks out still spells devastation.
They continue to concern themselves with the development of these arrival events, hoping once again for a peaceful interaction rather than a smoke-filled Civilization War.
The horrors of the mechanical war from back then are still fresh in memory, the scourge of genetic diseases persists in the present day.
Yet, nobody among the races anticipated that the forces arriving this time, the Destiny Clan, would so thoroughly cooperate with Earth’s interactions and arrangements.
Before the arrival, the high-ranking members of the Earth Alliance were immensely tense.
A method to judge a race’s strength is the technology and robustness of their Space Channel generation.
Prior to contact, the "Arrival Force Threat Report" placed the Destiny Clan at S Level, the highest arrival threat level.
Their potential for war in the eyes of various races even surpassed the mysterious force that hovered over the Atlantic during the last arrival, briefly probing with warfare and then swiftly departing.
Pre-arrival, tensions ran high among the top echelons of all races.
The fear was that a new wave of Descent War would ensue, plunging Earth back into wartime turmoil.
Yet, the reality was entirely the opposite.
It is certain that the Destiny Clan’s strength is extremely potent.
Without using any devices, they easily imprinted their ideas in the minds of all living beings in the Trading City through the Spirit Network.
This ability has exceeded the Earth Alliance’s projected levels.
But what they expressed was a desire for peace.
In response, the various races of the Earth Alliance did not lower their guard, attempting diplomatic contact through representatives.
What they received was the other party’s explicit assurance of no offensive action.
In fact, during discussions, they presented the Earth Alliance with a resource gift package.
The resources inside far exceeded Earth’s standards, leaving the representatives astounded.
The Destiny Clan’s series of actions only left the various races of the Earth Alliance more puzzled.
The other side claimed to bring resources and called themselves an exile force, yet their behaviors did not fit such a narrative.
To think they were a predatory force posed with a guise upon initial contact, also did not make sense.
The resources they provided were authentic and superior, unattainable on Earth.
But since it was clear they came with good intentions, the Earth Alliance reciprocated with due sincerity, promptly launching the integration process.
...
Two days later.
The Destiny Clan members completed identity registration and, after undergoing a series of tests and examinations of civilization compatibility, were finally settled on a patch of undeveloped land on the edge of the Siberian wasteland.
The permafrost here still harbors high concentrations of pollution that have not been thoroughly purified.
The only authorized officials from the Human Clan Federation in the Earth Alliance allocated this piece of land to them as a temporary residence.
