Mr. Grant Treats Me Like a Treasure
Chapter 674 - 673: She Learned to Cook for Him
The slap came swiftly and forcefully, sending Felicity Sterling sprawling on the ground, staring in shock at June Kane, who had suddenly erupted in anger and struck her.
"Mom!"
June didn’t hold back; she squatted in front of Felicity and delivered another slap with her raised hand.
"It’s you, it’s all you!"
She gave Felicity slap after slap, so ruthless that it left Felicity dazed and confused.
Felicity thought June must have been upset by Simon Sterling, and she became the punching bag for her frustrations.
All her life, June had never hit her so harshly.
Felicity had always been an obedient girl; she listened to June, always fearing she had done something wrong to displease June and that she would be discarded.
She thought, if she could just endure it, let June hit her a few times until the anger passed, June would feel better.
However, that’s not what June was thinking.
The reason she had always treated Felicity well was not only because she was her daughter, but also because of Simon’s attitude.
Carrying what she believed was a cursed child, June wished to abort it at the hospital immediately.
But her unique physical condition meant that if she terminated this pregnancy, she wouldn’t be able to conceive again.
The Old Master Kane made the decision, thinking that Simon had already agreed to marry her, so they labeled the child as Simon’s.
After she gave birth to the baby, Simon seemed to quite like Felicity, who was still in swaddling clothes, also due to relationships with people in Solaria; Simon transferred his affection for a daughter to Felicity.
June thus treated Felicity well, carefully nurturing this unwanted child.
Now, as neither Simon wanted her nor Felicity, the meaning of Felicity’s existence in this world suddenly seemed void to June.
Felicity was aware of all these changes but was unaware of her own origins.
The decision to divorce June was one Simon was unlikely to change.
On his way back to Wyatt Sterling’s place, he received several calls from the staff at The Sterling Residence.
Simon didn’t answer any, even if Felicity called saying June tried to kill herself, it wouldn’t change his decision.
Once his mind was made up, he was resolute.
Even if June used death as a threat, he would ensure she signed the divorce papers before dying.
Resolving issues with The Ford Family and June didn’t mean everything was truly over.
June only admitted to matters on The Sterling Isle and the car accident four years ago, which clearly were connected to The Ford Family.
The Ford Family! The time for a showdown had come!
Simon entered the house, full of thoughts, removing his shoes at the entrance, and heard Wyatt talking on the phone.
"Aunt Claire, whatever you make, I like to eat."
"Truly, the sweet and sour ribs you made last time were delicious, and also the soup you brewed."
Simon looked over; Wyatt, standing in the living room, was joyfully talking to Claire Sullivan on the phone.
Since Claire Sullivan appeared at The Sterling Family banquet, she had been finding opportunities to call Wyatt every day.
Wyatt no longer avoided Simon, sometimes chatting happily with Claire right in front of him.
After Wyatt finished his call, he noticed Simon in front of him.
"Dad, you’re back."
Wyatt said with a smile, noticing Simon was staring at his phone, "Aunt Claire’s call."
"Oh!"
Wyatt continued, "We’re going over for dinner this weekend; Aunt Claire asked what I like to eat."
"Her cooking is really good!"
Talking about the soup Claire Sullivan brewed, Wyatt became excited, but seeing Simon was still watching him, he jokingly added, "Dad, even if I told you, you wouldn’t know. You haven’t tried it."
Simon paused, looking at Wyatt’s proud smile, feeling provoked.
Haven’t tried it?
Claire Sullivan learned her culinary skills for him.
He was picky, not eating outside food; at that time, he also had a stomach illness, so she learned to cook, brewing various soups for him.
