Mr. Grant Treats Me Like a Treasure
Chapter 687 - 686: You’ve Been to Prison
"Serena, you left in such a hurry yesterday, did something happen?"
Claire Sullivan asked worriedly.
Serena Sullivan didn’t speak, she lowered her head and sipped the tea in her cup.
Claire couldn’t wait any longer and asked again, "Did June Kane do something to you?"
Serena’s nature, Claire understood well.
If others don’t provoke her, she won’t provoke them.
In the past with Joel Quinn and his daughter, she didn’t have this awareness.
"Yes." Serena put down the teacup, "I went missing in Solaria before, and I asked Simon Sterling for help."
This matter, Claire knew about it, but hearing Serena mention it again, she was a bit annoyed.
"I told you it was him, but he wouldn’t admit it."
Thinking about going to the hotel to find Simon, his infuriatingly indifferent look, Claire felt she was too gentle in throwing her high heel.
"And then?"
"June sneaked onto The Sterling Family’s island, disguised as a maid, and pushed me to the seaside."
"She..." Claire was shocked, her hands clenched tight, guessing what Serena was about to say.
"She kicked me into the sea, wanted me to die."
Upon hearing this, Claire’s eyes became colder, she should have realized earlier that Serena suffered so much because of June.
No wonder Serena asked Ethan to have someone throw June into the pond last night.
It’s to let June taste the feeling of nearly drowning, worse than death.
"So, what are you going to do?" Claire asked, she clenched her fist, feeling she should confront June, even if it meant exchanging her life for it.
"Simon said he’d handle it."
"Ha ha." Claire sneered, "On The Sterling Family’s territory, you even had trouble."
Anyway, she was heartbroken by Simon, no longer believing him.
"The car accident four years ago must be related to June too." Claire said coldly again, "No need for him to handle it, I’ll do it."
When she went back, she’d take a knife to The Ford Family and find June, stabbing her directly.
Serena looked at the determination in Claire’s eyes, guessing what she would do, she stopped her, "Don’t do something stupid like exchanging a life for a life."
"Prison isn’t a good thing."
"Been there, done that." Claire blurted out.
Serena was stunned because Claire spoke softly, she thought she heard wrong.
"Your turn."
Serena’s phone on the table happened to ring, she put down the cup to check the message.
Claire put her hand on the table, gripping the cup, what did Serena want her to say!
To talk about what happened twenty years ago, or to tell her she has a brother.
"Serena!"
She called out, realizing Serena was absorbed in the message, not knowing what she read as Serena’s brows furrowed, her face darkened.
"What happened?"
Claire asked.
Serena lifted her head, shifting her gaze to Claire’s face.
Claire cared a lot about her appearance, perhaps in her mind, hoping to preserve it, aging slower than Simon.
Her eyes were exceptionally clear, how can one see through them, not knowing she had once been in prison, suffered greatly.
"You’ve been in prison!"
Serena put down the phone, looked at Claire, and asked each word clearly.
Claire was stunned upon hearing Serena, her body froze, mind turning dizzy, she felt it must be a mistake. 𝙧𝙚𝙚𝔀𝒆𝓫𝓷𝙤𝓿𝒆𝙡.𝒄𝙤𝓶
Because Serena wasn’t questioning her, but stating a fact.
Serena didn’t press further, she pushed the phone on the table in front of Claire.
"Finn Chandler sent it to me."
