Chapter 697: Chapter 696: No Choice but to Go

When Felicity Sterling dawdled over, June Kane looked behind her, noticed a server, and gave him a signal. The server nodded slightly and followed Felicity.

Over here, Eldest Master Sterling and Second Master Sterling left one after another, as Wyatt Sterling and Felicity Sterling brushed past each other.

Felicity approached Serena Sullivan and Ethan Grant; she saw Ethan push Serena to a less crowded corner.

With this, Felicity breathed a sigh of relief. If she got rejected by Ethan, there wouldn’t be too many people to witness it.

"Hello everyone!"

Felicity felt awkward standing in front of Serena and Ethan.

Serena gave her a smile, while Ethan remained expressionless with a stoic face.

It was obvious her presence displeased Ethan.

"Let me propose a toast!"

A server came over, and Felicity took two glasses of red wine from the tray.

She handed one glass over, turning towards Serena.

Ethan might not accept hers, but Serena would.

As Felicity expected, Serena smiled and accepted it, even took a sip.

Following June’s advice to toast Ethan, it counted as a success. Felicity sighed with relief, and as she turned to leave, her phone in her clutch rang. She took it out and saw the message on the screen, looking puzzled toward June, who was talking with Wyatt.

June noticed her gaze and shot her a cold look, signaling Felicity to obediently follow her instructions.

Felicity hesitated for a moment, then turned back to see Serena chatting happily with Ethan. She bit her lower lip and had no choice but to return.

"Serena, can I talk to you alone?"

"No, you can’t!"

Without waiting for Serena’s agreement, Ethan declined.

It was on Kane Family’s territory, and Felicity was June’s daughter; he wasn’t reassured!

Felicity lowered her head, realizing Serena and Ethan were unlikely to agree to chat with her alone. She recalled June’s instructions and felt indecisive.

"Okay!"

Seeing the conflict on Felicity’s face, Serena agreed.

"Serena!"

"I know what I’m doing!"

Serena gave Ethan a reassuring smile, indicating he needn’t worry.

"Felicity won’t harm me."

She stated with confidence.

Without June’s instructions, Felicity had no desire to converse with Serena.

The Kane Family was unlike the Sterling Residence, they enjoyed opulence, as the design here exuded the essence of luxury everywhere.

Once they reached the quiet part of the house, it was just Serena, Felicity, and Yayaya.

Without an opening line, Serena started by asking Felicity, "Did your mom tell you to find me to chat?"

Felicity was startled, seeing Serena’s smile, not understanding how she guessed.

"She asked me to bring you here, what is she planning?"

Serena asked again.

Throughout the banquet, only Felicity from the Kane Family gave Serena some sense of goodwill.

"She wants me to pursue Mr. Grant!"

Felicity lowered her head and spoke softly.

June wanted her to offer a toast and talk to Serena about Ethan; fearing June’s anger, she couldn’t refuse.

"Do you want that?"

Serena felt that Felicity was a kind person, but she cared too much about June.

Whatever June said, she followed without her own thoughts.
