Serena Sullivan looked at Ethan Grant’s regret after realizing it, smiling happily with her lips pursed.

"Idiot!"

She softened her voice and reached out to wrap her arms around Ethan’s neck.

Perhaps she didn’t love herself, love him, as much as Ethan loved her.

Perhaps she loved herself more.

But she liked her current life, liked Ethan becoming foolish in front of her.

She liked his pampering and protection even more.

It had been a long time since she had seen Renee Grant face-to-face, and Renee hadn’t as well.

The last time they met was still in Solaria; Serena couldn’t remember where their last meeting was.

Renee saw her, then looked at Ethan by her side and smiled lightly with disdain, "Congratulations, you’ve gotten what you wanted."

This "you" was referring to both Ethan and Serena.

Four years ago, she used all her means, even instigating Mr. Grant and Madam Grant to imprison Ethan. She even drugged Ethan, just wanting to sever the connection between them.

Four years later, they reunite, and Renee felt exhausted by repeatedly opposing them, realizing she couldn’t obstruct their togetherness.

"Thank you." Serena smiled, politely responding.

She sat confidently in front of Renee, picked up the menu, and ordered a drink.

Her demeanor indeed showed she was there to chat with Renee.

"You’ve come to see me for Claire Sullivan’s matter."

Renee went straight to the point.

"Yes!"

Serena nodded.

Renee sneered, "There’s no need to discuss this matter."

"I was abandoned by Felix Lockwood because of her."

"For so many years, I’ve been thoroughly deceived."

Knowing Felix had a daughter with Claire, Renee was truly furious.

She was already angry and devastated over Felix abandoning her, and then finding out Felix had an illegitimate daughter with Claire was unacceptable!

"How did you find out they had a daughter?" Serena asked.

Renee clenched her fists, her eyes quickly reddening.

"All these years, everything I did was for Felix."

Whether it was what she did to Ethan or involving herself in The Lockwood Corporation’s affairs, it was all for Felix’s future.

"The rumors outside were that I drugged Felix, forcing him to marry me."

"But that’s not true."

Renee’s tears began to fall.

Serena was stunned hearing this. She turned her head to look at Ethan in confusion; Ethan shook his head, as he was too young to know when Renee married Felix.

"I liked Felix very early on, pursued him for a long time."

"The person he liked was your mom — Claire Sullivan. When Claire went to the Imperial Capital to study, he followed her to take care of her."

"Later, when Claire returned with a big belly, he even went to her door to propose."

Renee gave a bitter smile, "At that time, I resorted to any means to have him."

"I secretly liked him, thinking if he truly ended up with Claire, I would also find someone to marry."

"But Claire rejected him, igniting hope in me."

Everyone has moments of innocence and kindness; no one becomes bad from the start.

Like Felicity Sterling, she went to extremes largely because of June Kane’s failed parenting.

And June was because of The Ford Family.

"During that time, whenever I was free, I would appear in front of him, accompany him, make him laugh."

That was Renee’s happiest time. Although Felix’s response was silence and rejection while being pursued by her, seeing him laugh because of her left her very satisfied.
