Mr. Law's Official Announcement: He is a Wife-Doting Fanatic!
Chapter 130: This Cat Is Way Too Naughty!
The night was pitch-black, and the heavy rain started without warning. The chilly wind made Cecilia Vaughn, wearing just a thin dress, hug her shoulders.
She didn’t expect that suddenly, a pure white kitten dashed across her path.
The kitten was obviously a stray, emaciated to the bone, pitifully walking in the rain, with its fur soaked through.
It seemed to want to take shelter from the rain by Cecilia, but hesitated to approach because someone was standing there.
It just stared at Cecilia with misty eyes, looking very wary.
...
Seeing the white kitten’s gaunt appearance, Cecilia felt a pang of inexplicable pain in her heart.
This homeless cat, without a place to belong, seemed somewhat similar to her.
She was just a bit luckier. After being abandoned by the Vaughn Family, she met Adrian Law and started a new life.
Cecilia thought for a moment and tentatively waved at the white kitten, trying to show that she was harmless.
Unexpectedly, the kitten backed away instead, baring its teeth at her and growling twice, then dashed into a flower bush to hide further away.
This stray cat sure is wary!
Cecilia felt helpless and a bit sad. In some ways, it was similar to her—perhaps betrayed and abandoned before, making it harder to trust others.
...
As the rain intensified, with no shelter in the bush, Cecilia worried as she watched the kitten shivering from the cold.
She quickly turned to the nearby convenience store to buy some bread, disregarding the fact that she was getting soaked, and carefully stopped in front of the flowerbed.
"Little kitty, I’m not a bad person. Are you hungry? Would you like to eat something?"
Regardless of whether it could understand, Cecilia crouched down, tearing the bread into pieces, and placed them in front of the flowerbed.
At first, the white kitten stared vigilantly at Cecilia, but seeing her stay composed, standing in the rain to feed it, it gradually sensed her kindness.
With a mix of caution, it jumped out of the flower bed cautiously and approached Cecilia.
Only then did Cecilia notice the kitten’s unsteady legs, appearing to be injured.
The cat lowered its head and started licking the bread crumbs Cecilia had just torn.
The girl frowned at the sight of the kitten’s limping right leg.
Was it intentionally hurt by someone, or was it accidentally run over by a car while crossing the street?
...
Either answer made Cecilia feel very distressed.
She couldn’t help but reach out, attempting to gently stroke the dirty back of the white kitten.
"Kitty, would you like to come home with me? There will be food and someone to take care of you."
Just as Cecilia was coaxing softly, she suddenly noticed that the rain had stopped falling over her.
Eh, did the rain stop so quickly?
Cecilia looked up in a daze, and Adrian Law’s handsome face appeared under the large umbrella.
The big umbrella tilted, almost fully covering Cecilia, while the man’s back was exposed to the rain, quickly getting soaked.
However, Adrian seemed completely unaware, just staring intently at Cecilia.
"Cecilia, what are you doing here?"
Seeing Cecilia drenched, Adrian’s brows furrowed tightly, his phoenix eyes filled with disapproval.
...
Cecilia knew Adrian was upset that she hadn’t taken care of herself, and she tilted her head playfully, then pointed to the white kitten by the flower bed.
"Look, I thought this little guy was quite pitiful, so I fed it some bread."
Cecilia said, somewhat nervously fiddling with her fingers, her almond-shaped eyes full of hope.
"Adrian, can we take it home and raise it?"
She knew Adrian had a cleanliness habit, but she really felt a connection with this white kitten, so she blinked her almond eyes, acting cute.
Adrian frowned at the dirty little white kitten, about to speak when Cecilia gently tugged at his shirt, continuing to act charmingly.
"It looks so well-behaved. I’m sure it’ll love to stay clean in the future. Can we please take it in?"
Adrian felt helpless, but he couldn’t refuse Cecilia. Every time he saw her clear almond eyes, he couldn’t bring himself to say no.
"Alright, if you like it, you can keep it."
"I knew Adrian was the best!"
Cecilia cheered in her heart and carefully reached out to pick up the little white kitten.
The kitten seemed to have accepted Cecilia as a good person, not resisting or evading as before, but leaning obediently in her arms.
...
Adrian glanced jealously at the white kitten.
"Should I hold it instead?"
He usually preferred cleanliness, but seeing Cecilia holding another being, even a kitten, made him uncomfortable.
"No, no, Adrian, you just hold the umbrella."
"..."
Adrian’s lips were tightly pressed. Getting jealous of a kitten seemed undignified, but he was jealous anyway.
...
The two of them called a taxi. Due to the strong wind and heavy rain, and the fact they were soaked while holding a kitten, Cecilia willingly paid the driver double the fare.
On the way back to Starfall Bay, the kitten snuggled tightly in Cecilia’s arms.
As if it sensed the future male owner’s displeasure, whenever Adrian glanced at it, it would bury itself deeper in Cecilia’s embrace, clearly intimidated by Adrian’s authority.
...
The night was too dark earlier, but now back at Starfall Bay, Cecilia suddenly noticed the kitten’s heterochromatic eyes.
One green and one blue, incredibly stunning.
"The kitten’s eyes are beautiful!"
But the CEO’s expression turned worse as he coldly observed the mud-splotched white kitten, his face filled with skepticism.
"What’s so beautiful about it?"
"Cecilia, neither of us has raised pets before. Maybe we should give it to someone who likes cats."
As if sensing Adrian’s intention to give it away, the previously obedient white kitten suddenly bared its teeth, swiftly leaping from Cecilia’s arms to scratch a bloody line across Adrian.
"Cecilia, this cat is too fierce, it might hurt you!"
Adrian glared angrily at the scratch on his hand, his voice tinged with fury.
...
Fearing he might argue with a pet, Cecilia quickly protected the white kitten in her arms.
"Adrian, don’t scare it. Cats are sensitive. Maybe it heard you want to get rid of it and got upset."
Before Cecilia’s words were finished, the little white kitten, as if given a soul, suddenly darted up to her chest!
It pawed gently at Cecilia’s chest, glaring at Adrian while arrogantly meowing a few times.
"..."
"..."
This cat is too cheeky!
Cecilia was embarrassed, and Adrian’s phoenix eyes were filled with a brewing storm as he decisively spoke!
"No, it must be given away!"
