Chapter 18: Camping Time Part (2)

The cars glide along the open road, trees surrounding and sunlight reflecting on the car. The air is fresh and warm. The sky is clear. Distant mountains rise slowly like giants on the horizon.

Inside the car, voices came and went. Laughter and sleepy murmurs. Some of the girls chat about small things. Some napped with their heads against the window. Some stare simply at the changing view.

After a few hours of driving, the girls’ car suddenly slowed down their car. Then they came to a stop by the roadside.

After seeing that, the boy’s car also pulled over behind them.

Akib stepped out first, stretching his arms a little before walking toward the girls’ side," Why’d you stop?" he asked, leaning a little toward the window.

One of the girls, named Jiniya, pointed ahead excitedly," Look at this view!"

They all stepped out of their car. Then they gathered near the edge of the road.

From there, the landscape widened. There were rows of green mountains from a far distance, which were layered by the clouds under the open sky. It almost felt like the clouds were touching the mountains. Trees swayed in the gentle breeze of air.

"Ahh.... the air feels so fresh here," Farjana expressed with delight.

"It looks amazing," Jiniya said, already pulling out her phone. "We can take so many photos here."

A little distance away, Rabbi and Ahnaf stood side by side, each holding a cup of coffee and drinking it.

Seeing the reasons for the girl stopping the car, Rabbi took a sip and shook his head with a grin.

Ahnaf chuckled.

Then both they laughed, "Women....ha ha ha."

They watched as the girls moved around, posing, adjusting angles and laughing between shots.

Aiden stepped forward calmly, taking off his sunglasses slightly. "Let me take the photos for you, girls," he said.

The girls turned immediately. "Really?"

One of them, Jiniya, smiled brightly. "What a gentleman. That’s our Aiden for you."

He positioned the girls carefully, adjusting the perfect spot for them to stand where they and the background of mountains, trees both will fit in frame with a dynamic view.

Aiden gave a small confident smile," Stand there. The background will look better from this angle.

"Alright, girls. Are you ready?" Aiden asked the girls.

The girls said in reply," Yep, we are. Cheese...."

Click.....

He took several shots, each one clean and well-framed. The girls gathered around him afterwards, checking the photos.

"Wow, these pictures look so good," Toma said.

Farjana said," Send them to me."

"Same here." said Jiniya.

Aiden nodded casually. Then he looked at Toma. "Let me take a single photo of you."

Toma was about to respond, but instead, she suddenly turned and grabbed Mr. Nobody’s wrist.

Before Mr.Nobody could react, she pulled him next to her. "Hey Nobody, let’s say cheese...." Toma said to Nobody.

Mr.Nobody, with an awkward tone, said,"...Wait...."

Aiden stood there, holding the camera, his reaction of getting angry while tears were dropping from his eyes. "...Yeah. Got it."

Click....

The photo was taken.

Toma smiled, looking satisfied.

Mr. Nobody scratched his head awkwardly," That was... sudden, Toma."

"Relax, Nobody," she said lightly. "It’s just a photo."

Aiden handed the camera back without saying anything.

After a few more minutes, everyone got back into their cars.

The journey continued.

The road slowly changed from smooth highways to narrower paths surrounded by trees. The air grew cooler and the scenery became denser with greenery.

Hours passed.

Finally, the cars reached the Jirisan Mountains.

The vehicles came to a stop near an open camping area surrounded by tall trees and wide natural space.

One by one, everyone stepped out.

The boys stretched again, looking around.

"Wow," Akib said, letting out a long breath. "This place looks awesome."

Rabbi nodded," Way better than the city chaos."

The girls came out of their car as well, looking around with excitement.

"This is beautiful," Jiniya expressed with a smile."I love it already."

The air felt fresh. A light breeze moved through the trees, carrying a calm and quiet atmosphere that was completely different from the city noise.

Akib opened the trunk of the car and started pulling things out.

"Alright, let’s not waste time." Akib lifted a barbecue grill and placed it on the ground.

"Someone help me with this." Akib asked for a hand to help him out.

Ahnaf stepped forward,"I got it, dude."

They started setting up the grill together.

Nearby, others spread out a large carpet on the ground. Bags were opened and food containers were placed neatly on top.

Drinks, snacks, meat, everything was being organised.

Jiniya clapped her hands," Let’s divide the work."

"Good idea," Toma replied.

"Some of us prepare the food, some set up tents," Farjana said.

"I’ll help with the food," Toma said.

"I’ll handle the tent," Rabbi added.

Mr. Nobody stood there for a moment, unsure where to go.

Then Toma looked at him," You. Come help here."

Nobody pointed at himself,"...Me?"

"Yes, you," Toma said.

He walked over slowly. "What do I do?" he said to Toma.

She handed him a bag," Start by taking these out."

He nodded," Alright."

As he began placing items on the carpet, he noticed how normal everything felt. "Wow, no fights, no system warnings, no danger, just people enjoying a trip together. It kinda feels... peaceful huh...."

He paused for a second, then continued working.

A little distance away, Aiden stood watching.

His gaze moved between Toma and Mr. Nobody. He said nothing. But he was getting annoyed. But his expression remained unchanged.

Back near the grill, Akib was already getting things ready," Once this is set, we’re starting the barbecue at night time."

"For now, let’s eat those sandwiches," said Rabbi.

"Good," Ahnaf said. "I’m starving."

Laughter spread around.

The group slowly settled into their roles. Tents were being assembled. Food was being prepared. The sun was still high, casting a warm glow across the entire area.

Mr.Nobody looked around again.

Everyone was busy.

Everyone was smiling.

For a moment, he allowed himself to relax. "...Maybe this won’t be so bad," he thought quietly.

Everyone gradually gathered around the spread, sitting in small groups on the laid-out carpet. The food was simple, but the atmosphere made it feel special. Sandwiches, rice cakes, puddings, and chilled drinks from the mini fridge were passed around casually.

Nobody leaned back slightly after eating, letting out a satisfied breath. "Man, I am so full right now."

Toma glanced at him with a playful smile. "You got quite the appetite."

Aiden, sitting nearby, added with a slight smirk, "Bro, at least eat slowly. We are not going to take your food."

Nobody scratched the back of his head, smiling awkwardly. "Actually... the sandwiches were really yummy. I couldn’t help it."

Farjana, sitting across from them, perked up at that," Oh? You liked them? I made those."

Nobody’s expression brightened instantly," Wait, really? Wow. Sis, you are an amazing cook."

Rabbi, who was beside her, leaned back with a proud grin. "Why wouldn’t she be? Of course she is. She’s my girlfriend after all."

Farjana immediately nudged him, her cheeks turning slightly red.

"Stop it, Rabbi."

The group burst into light laughter, the mood warm and relaxed.

Ahnaf took a sip of his drink and looked around.

"This is actually perfect. Good food, good weather, no stress." Nobody said.

Akib nodded while adjusting the grill setup nearby. "Wait until evening. Barbecue is going to make this even better."

Toma picked up a pudding cup and quietly ate while watching everyone. Her gaze drifted for a moment, landing on Nobody. He was talking with the others now, a little more naturally than before.

She smiled faintly.

Nobody, sensing her gaze, turned slightly. "What?"

Toma shook her head," It’s Nothing." She slightly smiled. But her expression said otherwise.

On the other side, Aiden noticed that small exchange. His expression tightened for a brief second before he looked away and picked up a drink.

Rabbi clapped his hands lightly.

"Alright, after eating, we should explore a bit. No point coming all the way here and just sitting."

Ahnaf agreed.

"Yeah, there’s a trail nearby. I saw it when we were coming."

Farjana added,

"Let’s take pictures too. The lighting is really nice right now."

Jiniya immediately stood up.

"I’m in. But someone carry the extra stuff."

Akib sighed.

"Of course. The boys will do all the work, right?"

"Obviously," Jiniya replied without hesitation.

More laughter followed.

Nobody slowly got up, stretching his arms slightly. His body still felt a bit sore from that night, though the system had already healed most of it.

Still, somewhere deeper in his mind, something still felt off.

He didn’t know why.

But his gut feeling was telling him. This kind of peace never lasted long for him. And the system had already mentioned it. A main event.

"Flowers and Camping."

He looked toward the forest beyond the open area.

The trees stood still and silence surrounded them.

Mr.Nobody narrowed his eyes slightly.

"...Yeah," he muttered under his breath. "Something’s definitely coming."

He looked around at the group. For a moment, everything felt... normal.

He muttered quietly to himself,

"This is one of those peaceful events, right, system?"

The system did not respond.

That silence of the system window made him uneasy.

"System, are you there? You’re scaring me."

Toma walked up beside him," Let’s go. You’re coming too, right?"

Nobody nodded.

"Yeah."

As the group began moving toward the nearby trail, the atmosphere stayed light, filled with chatter and occasional jokes.
