Vanessa Sterling also wanted to go out and relax, so she nodded in agreement and said, "Okay, I’ll get ready. You wait for me downstairs."

"I’ll go book the restaurant first. There’s a new Japanese place near the cinema; Teacher Linton went there a couple of days ago and said the food is quite good. After eating, we can catch a movie."

"Should we invite Teacher Linton to go with us?"

Yvonne looked disdainful and said, "You wish! Teacher Linton has a husband and kids to spend time with. I say, Teacher Sterling, you need to hurry up. You’re still all alone."

Vanessa Sterling rolled her eyes at her, saying, "Can’t you go a day without mocking me?"

"Hehe, fine, I won’t. Hurry up and get ready, I’ll be waiting downstairs."

The two took a taxi to the Japanese restaurant. The shop had only one floor but was quite spacious. The hall had quite a few guests, yet the atmosphere was still peaceful overall.

After ordering the dishes, Yvonne pulled out her phone and asked Vanessa Sterling, "Teacher Sterling, what movie are we going to watch later?"

Just as Yvonne spoke, before Vanessa Sterling could answer, a woman’s voice rang out from not far away: "Mr. Sterling, you’ve been busy all day. How about catching a movie together later?"

Perhaps too sensitive to the surname "Sterling," Vanessa immediately turned her head toward the sound source, instantly spotting the alluring woman from the morning.

The woman was facing her direction, while Miles was turned away from her.

Yvonne followed Vanessa Sterling’s gaze and instantly recognized Miles, starting to curse, "How unlucky! Even when eating, I run into this gut-wrenching jerk!"

Vanessa Sterling quietly turned her head back but couldn’t help eavesdropping on their conversation.

Miles Sterling remained silent for a few seconds before responding indifferently to the woman: "No, I’m a bit tired."

The woman continued to persuade, "Watching a movie is also a form of relaxation. With work being so hectic, it’s hard to find such an opportunity."

"You go by yourself."

Seeing Miles Sterling’s firm attitude, the woman didn’t continue the conversation.

Though he didn’t agree, the fact that she proposed a movie date suggested their relationship was far from ordinary.

Throughout the meal, Yvonne kept cursing Miles.

Vanessa Sterling didn’t say much, so Yvonne assumed she was upset, comforting her, "Teacher Sterling, don’t be sad. It’s better to see through such men earlier. If you like this type, I’ll keep an eye out for you. Next time I find one, I’ll introduce you first."

Vanessa Sterling chuckled dryly and explained, "I’m not upset. Besides, there’s no point cursing him; it doesn’t have much to do with us."

"I just can’t stand it!"

"Alright, come on, eat up. I’ll go pay, and the movie is about to start."

"Why are you paying? I was supposed to treat!"

Vanessa Sterling laughed lightly and teased, "You have a family to feed. How could I let you pay?"

"Hehe, then thank you, Teacher Sterling!"

Vanessa Sterling stood up with her phone and walked to the cashier. As the clerk was ringing up her order, Miles Sterling’s voice suddenly came from beside her: "You’re eating here too?"

Vanessa Sterling was startled, turning to see Miles and the woman walking toward them.

She merely pressed her lips and gave a dry laugh, responding with a brief "Hmm."

Then she looked down trying to find the payment code on her phone but before she managed to scan it, Miles Sterling passed his phone over: "Let me pay for both."

Vanessa Sterling was taken aback, quickly refusing after coming to her senses: "No need, I’ll pay myself."

Miles Sterling laughed lightly and said, "I think with our relationship, treating you to a meal shouldn’t be an issue."
