Chapter 942: Chapter 942: Were We Together?

Early the next morning, just as it was getting light, Miles Sterling left the house alone.

Gwen Grant stood by the bedroom balcony window, watching Miles’s departing figure, and she didn’t send anyone to follow him.

After all, having someone watch Vanessa Sterling was enough. As long as she kept them from meeting, and with the effects of the medication, one day Miles would completely forget Vanessa.

Miles planned to walk along the path he took yesterday back to the art supply store, hoping to chat with the shop assistant from yesterday and see if he could uncover any clues.

Halfway there, a white sedan passed by Miles, then suddenly reversed and stopped beside him.

The car window slowly lowered, revealing a face with smudged makeup, filled with drunkenness, looking at Miles and glancing at the cane he was using, asking, "Fancy running into you here? What happened to you?"

Miles stopped when he heard the voice, turning to look at Cynthia Ramsey.

Suddenly, fragments of memories about this face filled his mind.

He staggered a couple of steps, leaning against the railing behind him.

He let go of his cane, clutching his aching head forcefully...

Seeing Miles in this state, Cynthia, who was originally sitting lazily in the passenger seat, hurriedly opened the car door and got out, standing in front of Miles, looking at him with concern and furrowed brows: "Are you feeling unwell?"

Miles shook his head to clear his mind, and when the pain gradually subsided, he raised his head to look at Cynthia and asked, "Who are you?"

Cynthia was taken aback: "Are you joking with me?" 𝓯𝙧𝙚𝒆𝙬𝙚𝒃𝙣𝙤𝒗𝓮𝓵.𝙘𝙤𝙢

Miles squinted his dark eyes at Cynthia, noting that she looked very much like the girl he saw at the amusement park that day, but he was sure they weren’t the same person.

The amusement park girl had shoulder-length black hair and appeared more petite.

Cynthia had chestnut-colored big wavy curls, wore a sexy bodycon dress, and had heavy makeup, looking more mature and alluring.

"Do you know me?"

Upon hearing Miles’s question, Cynthia smiled and asked, "Are you serious? Did you lose your memory?"

Miles remained silent, and Cynthia gathered from his bewildered expression the answer, lightly chuckling, "Want to get in the car? Find a place to sit and chat."

Miles hesitated slightly, looking at Cynthia, and with curiosity about his past and a desire to regain his memory, got into the car.

Cynthia followed and sat in the back, telling the driver in the front an address.

A few minutes later, the car stopped in front of an apartment building.

Cynthia got out and led the way, Miles stood at the roadside glancing around, appearing somewhat cautious and wary, following Cynthia into the building.

In the elevator, Cynthia turned to ask Miles: "Your wife? Doesn’t she care?"

Miles gave Cynthia a glance and asked: "You know her?"

Cynthia smiled, "I wouldn’t dare know her. Before you got married, we were somewhat involved. If she knew, she’d probably trouble me."

Miles furrowed his brows with confusion: "We were involved?"

Cynthia nodded, "Sort of."

Back then, Miles only thought of her as a stand-in for that girl.

The elevator stopped on the ninth floor, Cynthia opened the door and stepped inside, changing out of her high heels at the entryway, while Miles stood at the door, looking inside before following her in.

"Want something to drink?"

Miles glanced at the somewhat messy apartment, furrowing his brows slightly, "No, thanks. I just want to know, how much do you know about my past?"
