Seeing this, the subordinate showed a look of helplessness and had to speak truthfully.

"It’s the young master, he’s clamoring to hear your voice, and the butler has no other way out."

When Yancy Shaw heard his subordinate mention his son, the expression on his face changed slightly.

After a moment’s pause, he still reached out and took the phone.

"Hello." He said.

"Dad, you finally answered the phone!" Hearing his voice, the child’s voice on the other end of the line was full of joy.

Hearing his son’s happy voice, Yancy Shaw’s expression became serious, and his tone was hardly gentle as he spoke.

"Do you need something?"

"Dad, you haven’t come back to see me for a long time. I asked the butler to take me to find you, but he refused." On the phone, came the soft, tender voice of a little chubby child.

Listening to the voice on the other end, Yancy Shaw’s complexion paled slightly.

For this child, he felt a sense of guilt in his heart.

Over the years, he still could not escape the pain of losing his lover.

His coldness towards him was born out of a fear that he might suddenly fail to hold on one day, might simply follow Raina, and, having no emotional bond with his son, he wouldn’t be so heartbroken.

After a long silence, he spoke again, his voice still so stern.

"I’ve told you that you must learn to be independent and cannot always think about relying on me in the future!"

"But I’m only six, and the teacher said that a six-year-old can rely on adults." The child’s innocent voice was full of confusion and unhappiness.

Listening to the voice of the six-year-old on the phone, Yancy Shaw’s brow was full of worry.

"But you’re different. I can’t be with you forever!"

"Dad..."

Yancy Shaw didn’t continue speaking, instead, he cruelly hung up the phone directly, placed it into his suit pocket, and upon looking up, saw a familiar petite figure slowly walking towards him.

"Miss Yue!" Seeing the approaching figure, Yancy Shaw’s face immediately returned to its usual expression, politely calling out. 𝘧𝓇𝑒𝑒𝑤ℯ𝑏𝓃𝘰𝑣ℯ𝘭.𝘤ℴ𝘮

"Mr. Shaw!" Summer Shawcross tugged out a smile that didn’t quite reach her eyes as she walked over.

"Miss Yue came to find me, have you thought it over and are willing to help me?" Yancy Shaw asked further.

Upon being asked this way, Summer Shawcross paused before speaking.

"I said before, I can only help you to this point for now. The next time you need me, it will take at least a few years."

Hearing this, Yancy Shaw began to scrutinize the woman in front of him, then suddenly asked.

"So you came to find me because you need my help?"

"You guessed correctly!" Summer Shawcross nodded, thinking that Yancy Shaw truly was an old fox...

But when it comes to matters related to Raina, he seems completely at a loss, even genuinely believing he saw Raina’s spirit yesterday.

"But we are already even; I helped you the day before yesterday, and you helped me yesterday. Unless you have new terms for me to help you!" Yancy Shaw spoke with a face full of calculative sincerity.

"Don’t try to get information out of me, even if you don’t help me, I can’t help you meet Raina again!" Summer Shawcross said, pursing her lips and unable to help herself.

Hearing her say this, Yancy Shaw’s expression showed a little disappointment, but after a moment, he still spoke up and agreed.

"No problem, even if you owe me a favor, I believe you’ll have the chance to repay it in the future!"

Seeing him agree so easily, Summer Shawcross was stunned and then looked at him in confusion.
