She wasn’t surprised at all about Yancy Shaw’s arrival. All the Drexler Family’s staff listened to him, and given his remarkable status, visiting the Drexler Family was never a difficult task.

"Miss Esther hasn’t forgotten about me in her glory days—truly touching," Yancy Shaw said with a face full of polite expressions.

Listening to his string of remarks, Summer Shawcross couldn’t help but want to roll her eyes.

Ever since she allowed him to meet Raina, Yancy Shaw seemed like he’d become a different person, not as stern as he used to appear.

"Go ahead, what do you want from me?" She pursed her lips and couldn’t help but ask.

Yancy Shaw didn’t immediately answer her but instead turned his head to look at the car behind him, gesturing for the driver to drive away.

The driver nodded, and the car slowly drove off into the distance.

Seeing no one around, Yancy Shaw finally looked at Summer Shawcross with a face full of seriousness, yet with some expectation.

"I see Miss Esther is now clear-headed, seems like her condition should be good."

Listening to his words, Summer Shawcross vaguely guessed something.

Yancy Shaw carefully took out a ring box from his suit pocket and handed it to Summer Shawcross, then said solemnly.

"This is our token of love. Raina always wore it. Could you use it again to try and see if she might let me meet her once more?"

As expected... he’s come for this matter again.

Looking at Yancy Shaw in front of her, Summer Shawcross felt helpless and couldn’t help but show a troubled expression.

She had already let Esther meet him once, and she felt guilty towards Esther. How could she possibly let her see this man whom she hated again?

Seeing Summer Shawcross’s troubled expression, the light in Yancy Shaw’s eyes gradually disappeared, and his hand holding the ring box fell.

"Still... can’t be done, right?" He laughed bitterly, his face full of disappointment.

His demeanor stirred something soft in Summer Shawcross’s heart, making her instinctively want to help him, but remembering Esther’s previous attitude, she hesitated again.

Suddenly, she was very unsure about what exactly Yancy Shaw did to Raina back then, making her so unwilling to acknowledge him now.

Thinking about it, she could only sigh and kindly advise him.

"Why not try to let go? Why be so obsessed with someone who no longer exists in this world?"

Her words, however, made Yancy Shaw laugh.

"Miss Esther is still young and doesn’t understand that feeling."

"How can one say ’let go’ so easily when it’s someone you love deeply?"

Listening to his words, Summer Shawcross’s heart tightened, and after a few seconds of silence, she solemnly asked him.

"But what if I can never make it possible for you to see her, then what?"

What she said before about years or decades was just a delaying tactic. She knew very well that Esther would never see him again in this lifetime.

As Summer Shawcross’s words fell, Yancy Shaw froze, his handsome face suddenly turned pale, and he stood there, his face losing all color.

Summer Shawcross shook her head and was about to turn to leave when she suddenly heard a sharp, unkind voice coming from a distance.

"How could you be so inept, can’t even pick a flower properly? What’s the use of you!"

She paused for a moment, and even though the distance was far, she recognized Autumn Duval’s voice.

Wasn’t she supposed to be playing the part of someone gravely wounded and nearly dying with Noah Drexler? How come her voice was so forceful now? Isn’t she afraid of being exposed and discovered by Noah Drexler?
