Ten days had passed since Gui Ying’s visit to the Feng Army’s temporary camp located outside the imperial capital city of the Yu Empire.

Standing outside the commander’s tent, one of the soldiers guarding the tent yawned, then looked up at the eastern horizon. Seeing the zodiacal light on the horizon, he yawned once more, then shook his head to chase away the sleepiness.

Just when he was about to fall asleep, two soldiers approached.

Looking at the sleepy soldier, one of the approaching soldiers patted his shoulder and said, "Brother, thank you for your hard work. It’s time to change shifts. You should hurry up and go back to rest before you fall asleep here."

Hearing this, the sleepy soldier yawned, then responded, "Thank you, Brother. Then we will leave the Great General’s safety to you two."

The two soldiers nodded, then let the sleepy soldiers go before taking their places.

While the soldiers were changing shifts, inside the commander’s tent, Bai Hanyun’s eyelashes fluttered slightly.

Noticing the slight movement, Gui Di opened his eyes. Sitting cross-legged on the meditation mat near the bed, he turned to look at the bed.

Seeing that Bai Hanyun slowly opened her eyes, he said, "Fairy Bai, it’s not yet dawn. You should get more sleep."

Bai Hanyun rubbed her eyes, then shook her head. "I had enough rest."

After saying that, she looked at Feng Xiyan, who was lying on the inner side of the bed, then reached toward his face. Bai Hanyun leaned closer, kissed his lips, then got up from the bed.

Seeing that she was preparing to wash up, Gui Di stood up and said, "I will wait outside. Please call me if you need anything."

Bai Hanyun smiled slightly at him and nodded. "Alright."

After Gui Di left the commander’s tent, Bai Hanyun moved the folding screen to divide the inner part of the tent, then took out a clean cotton towel and her toiletries from her black spatial ring.

She filled the copper basin with water from the wooden bucket placed beside the basin’s stand, then began to wash her face, brush her teeth, and wipe her body clean.

By the time she finished her morning routine and changed her clothes, the sky had changed color.

Putting away her toiletries, Bai Hanyun stepped out from behind the folding screen, then prepared to leave the commander’s tent.

Panting heavily, he stared dazedly at the golden formation slowly rotating above his body, then at the golden particles that flowed into his dantian.

As cold sweat covered his forehead, Feng Xiyan scanned the surroundings and realized that he was inside a military tent. Being in familiar surroundings, his anxious heart slowly calmed down.

Closing his eyes, Feng Xiyan recalled the last image he remembered.

The woman who died in front of him and disappeared into nothingness... She was not Bai Hanyun, but also Bai Hanyun.

Confused by his messed-up memories, Feng Xiyan frowned deeply and let out a painful, muffled groan.

Noticing the noise coming from the bed, Bai Hanyun paused in her tracks. Turning around, she looked at the bed. The moment she saw Feng Xiyan’s brows furrowed together, her eyes lit up.

Rushing toward the bed, she exclaimed in joy, "Xiyan! You finally woke up!"

Hearing this, Feng Xiyan’s body stiffened. He turned to the side, but before he could see clearly, a soft and warm body hugged him tightly.

Soon, he felt something wet fall on his chest.

Feng Xiyan lowered his gaze and saw Bai Hanyun burying her face in his chest, crying in silence. Looking at her trembling body, he felt something blocking his throat.

Raising his hand, Feng Xiyan gently rubbed Bai Hanyun’s head and whispered in a hoarse voice, "Yun’er... Thankfully, you are here with me... I thought—I thought I had lost you forever."

Bai Hanyun raised her head, then tearfully looked at Feng Xiyan’s relieved expression. Seeing that he was looking at her with those familiar loving gazes, Bai Hanyun couldn’t hold back any longer.

She hugged his neck, then wailed like a baby. "Waa~! Xiyan! You scared me to death! Waa~!"

At this moment, her sadness, anxiety, worries, and fear that had accumulated in her heart burst out at once.

"Xiyan..." Bai Hanyun called between sobs.

Feng Xiyan’s eyes reddened as he gently replied, "I’m here."

Receiving his answer, Bai Hanyun’s heart felt better. She sniffled, then called again, "Xiyan..."

Feng Xiyan hugged her, then whispered in a trembling voice, "I’m here, Yun’er."

Feeling his warmth and smelling his natural scent engulfing her body and senses, Bai Hanyun buried her face deeper into Feng Xiyan’s chest.

"Xiyan... Xiyan... Xiyan..."

Feng Xiyan could sense Bai Hanyun’s sadness and her trembling body, so he hugged her tighter and replied patiently to her calls.

"I’m here. I’m here. Don’t be afraid, Yun’er. I’m here."

Bai Hanyun cried and repeatedly called for Feng Xiyan’s name for a long time before she finally let go. Raising her red and swollen eyes, she looked at Feng Xiyan.

Tracing his thin face gently with her fingertips, she whispered, "You can’t do this anymore. If you dare to attempt suicide, I won’t forgive you. After you die, I will find another man and have babies with him."

When Feng Xiyan heard this, his face darkened.

Pinching Bai Hanyun’s cheek lightly, he asked with a hint of warning in his voice, "You dare?"

Bai Hanyun snorted, then retorted, "Why wouldn’t I dare? If you die, then you can’t do anything to me and can only watch another man replace you."

Feng Xiyan was so angry that he laughed. However, when he saw Bai Hanyun’s pale face, swollen eyes, and sunken cheeks, his laugh disappeared.

Caressing her cheek, he muttered in heartache, "You lost weight."

Bai Hanyun shook her head, then hugged him again. "I’m fine. As long as you are alright, I will be fine."

"Mhm," Feng Xiyan hummed in response, then lowered his head to kiss her.
