Chapter 1853: The Nine Priests
"All of you, leave."
Hades stood at the entrance of the grand hall, speaking slowly to the attendants waiting on either side.
The attendants wouldn’t dare defy her command.
After bowing, they all withdrew from the hall.
When the vast hall was left with only Hades, she stepped onto the platform and activated a mechanism. The Hades Divine Throne slid backward, revealing a long passage leading to the Ancestor Blood Pool.
As she entered the passage, the throne moved forward, concealing the entrance once again.
Walking underground, she quickly arrived at the Ancestor Blood Pool.
She glanced at the demon statue, then her gaze fell on the blood pool. The blood in the pool was constantly bubbling, with countless ferocious ghost faces howling and wailing within.
As usual, it seemed unchanged at a glance.
However, upon closer inspection, the water level in the blood pool had slightly decreased.
Hades’ face turned icy, and she slapped the air with her palm.
The tremendous palm force surged into the blood pool, instantly raising a blood curtain over ten meters high. Within the blood curtain, five distinct faces could be seen, different from the menacing ghost faces that appeared.
These five faces were very handsome, each with their eyes closed as if in slumber.
These five were, like Morren and others, ancestors of the Blood Clan, former Blood Clan Netherworld Kings. Unfortunately, for certain reasons, they were permanently sealed in the blood pool.
Even after disappearing for hundreds or even thousands of years, they have left endless legends in Europe.
If someone stood by Hades’ side, they would feel compelled to worship these five faces.
However, Hades’ expression grew increasingly grim.
"Three have escaped."
"Morren, Lancelot, Noah."
"Very well, I never thought you’d find a chance."
A hint of killing intent flashed in Hades’ eyes. With a wave of her hand, the towering blood curtain turned back into blood, falling back into the pool. As for the five faces, they sank once again into the blood.
Even though the blood pool returned to its previous calm, Hades felt unprecedented anger.
Even when Rob III almost drove her to a dead end, she had never been this furious. The escape of Morren and his two companions made her deeply self-reproachful. Because if she hadn’t left the Netherworld King Temple, those three would never have escaped from the Ancestor Blood Pool.
"I will find you."
"And then kill you."
Hades took a deep breath, her expression returning to cold indifference.
But those who knew her knew this was her most terrifying state.
Hades did not linger in the underground palace but turned and walked again into the dark, mysterious tunnel. Upon returning to the temple, she immediately summoned the nine high priests.
Three minutes later.
The nine high priests gathered.
In the Blood Clan, besides the elders, their positions were the highest. After all, they served by the Netherworld King’s side, making their power and status far surpass others in the Blood Clan.
"Harvey, at your service, Lord Netherworld."
"Kapas, at your service, Lord Netherworld."
"Esmond, at your service, Lord Netherworld..."
Upon seeing Hades seated high on the divine throne, they all knelt on one knee.
Seeing this, Hades spoke directly without wasting words: "I need your help investigating something. I want to know who has been to the Naga Mountain Range recently."
"Report the findings to me immediately."
"As you command!"
The nine high priests simultaneously accepted the order and then stood up and left the temple.
To them, Hades’ commands were like sacred edicts. Upon receiving the order, they promptly left the Netherworld King Temple to gather information.
This venture took three whole days.
On the third day.
A priest named Harvey was the first to return to the temple.
During these three days, Hades remained seated on the divine throne, not leaving for a moment.
"Harvey, at your service, Lord Netherworld!"
As soon as Harvey entered the temple, he knelt on one knee, his manner incredibly respectful.
Upon hearing, Hades glanced at him lightly before asking, "I sent out nine priests, and you’re the first to return. Tell me what you found."
"Reporting to Lord Netherworld, I have discovered that four elders entered the Naga Mountain Range five days ago," Harvey began, "They are Kars, Bart, Batty, and Harry."
Upon hearing these four names, a cold killing intent flashed in Hades’ eyes: "I see. You may withdraw for now. Also, summon the other eight to return immediately."
Harvey nodded and was just about to leave when he remembered something and spoke again, "Lord Netherworld, during my investigation, I inadvertently discovered some additional information." 𝕗𝗿𝕖𝐞𝐰𝗲𝕓𝐧𝕠𝕧𝗲𝐥.𝚌𝐨𝚖
"I believe this clue could aid you, Your Highness."
"What is it?" Hades asked.
Harvey immediately replied, "I also found out that four days ago, Elder Kars had already returned to his family. As for the other three elders, they’ve completely lost contact."
"I inquired their family members about them, but no one knows the whereabouts of the three elders."
"I suspect that Elder Bart and the others might have died."
Upon hearing this, Hades remained expressionless, coldly stating, "I understand. Do not disclose this matter. I will handle it personally. You may withdraw now."
Harvey nodded and then promptly turned to leave.
Though he had many doubts, he dared not ask Hades what had transpired.
After Harvey exited the grand hall, Hades’ gaze drifted through the doorway, settling on the vast mountain range: "Kars, I never expected it was you causing trouble outside."
"I initially wanted to spare you, but it seems you’ve chosen a path to destruction."
"Bart and the others didn’t return to their family and likely served as sacrifices to summon Morren and his companions’ souls. Following this line of reasoning, Morren and the others should be hiding within the Kars family."
After connecting all the clues, Hades quickly pinpointed the location of Morren and his companions.
Without lingering, she dashed out of the temple.
In a blink, Hades’ figure vanished into the clouds...
