My Co-renting Lady Boss
Chapter 1858 - 1854: Poisoned Human
Entering a corridor with walls made of white metal, the door behind suddenly closed.
"Gave me a scare."
Tang Ming turned to look at the door, reached out to knock, and his expression changed slightly.
"It’s the same metal that Nangong Tianyue used to trap me before. This level of hardness makes it difficult to open from the inside."
Tang Ming tried, but with his strength, he couldn’t open the door.
"Damn it, does a competition really need to be this extreme?"
Tang Ming complained irritably and could only walk forward along the corridor.
Along the way, the sides of the corridor were filled with various Western and Traditional Chinese medical equipment, pretty much everything needed for medical skills.
"Where is the patient?"
Tang Ming walked for a long time but only saw medical equipment, not the so-called patient.
This competition seemed simple. If he kept walking, he could just exit on the other side, which would count as passing.
Many competitors, after entering the corridor, rushed forward at the fastest speed, knowing that this round of the competition was timed, and the faster, the better the results.
Tang Ming was not in a hurry; he knew the competition couldn’t be that simple. The challenge must be ahead; the key was the time spent solving it.
A few minutes later, the corridor seemed to end in a large circular space. In front was a transparent glass wall blocking the way, and behind it, there was a creature with a decaying body, unrecognizable as human, moving back and forth.
"What the hell is this?"
Tang Ming gasped, incredulous, staring at the human-like, yet completely distorted creature.
After observing for a while, Tang Ming noticed a door in the glass wall, and the creature’s space was enclosed by two glass walls. The corridor continued on the other side, meaning to exit, one must go through this glass enclosure with the creature.
"Could this thing be the so-called patient?"
Soon, Tang Ming’s face changed dramatically.
Huang Hexian had said before that one must cure a patient in the corridor to pass, but given the current situation, could this monster still be considered a patient?
With this in mind, Tang Ming approached the glass door to closely observe the creature’s condition.
That creature’s body was decaying, but its life force remained intact. Through the glass wall, Tang Ming could tell it held a massive energy within, yet he couldn’t use his medical skills to determine its precise condition from afar.
"This is disgusting! Is it really human?"
Tang Ming paced back and forth outside the glass wall, examining but unable to discern what illness made the creature like this.
"Damn it, seems I have no choice but to go inside and check."
After pondering, Tang Ming gritted his teeth; if he couldn’t figure it out from afar, he had to diagnose it up close.
Tang Ming glanced at the medical equipment in the corridor; there were masks and protective suits, but he didn’t need those things.
Having decided, Tang Ming resolutely opened the glass door and entered the glass enclosure.
"Poison!"
Upon entering, Tang Ming’s face changed; the entire room was filled with infectious viruses, with the creature as their source.
"Damn it, sending competitors into such a dangerous place, this medical competition is too much."
Tang Ming cursed, looking up at the surveillance cameras hanging in the four corners of the glass room, seething with anger.
He could sense the terrifying virus in the room, and a slight misstep could lead to infection. Though many protective items were prepared outside, Huang Zhixian hadn’t warned them at all. If someone inadvertently entered, the consequences would be dire.
"Damn it, after passing this stage, I will definitely protest, it’s too much."
Tang Ming muttered angrily, cultivating energy while cursing, then took out a Silver Needle and approached the creature.
Though the creature appeared terrifying, it seemed harmless, mechanically moving back and forth in the room.
After confirming the creature wasn’t aggressive, Tang Ming sighed with relief. It seemed the organizers simply wanted to test if competitors could handle such viral infections without actually intending harm, as long as they took proper protective measures in the glass room.
"What a strange virus, it’s my first time seeing it."
After cutting off a piece of the creature’s decaying flesh, Tang Ming sat aside with interest to study it.
He considered himself an expert on poison, familiar with many toxic substances worldwide, but he’d never seen such a virus before. It was akin to a biochemical virus yet fundamentally different, with strong toxicity that seemed both familiar and foreign to him.
Meanwhile, in a dim room full of surveillance screens, every move of the forty-one competitors was being monitored. All had chosen to enter the glass rooms to study their assigned creatures, most thoroughly protected with gas masks, suits, and other equipment.
Only Tang Ming and another named Tang Xinhai ventured in lightly armored, busy at work in their respective rooms.
"Tang Ming actually came."
An elegantly dressed young man in a white coat watched a monitor intently with a scowl, staring at the footage of Tang Ming’s room.
"Do you know him?"
The figure of a woman, wrapped in a black robe, standing beside him, asked curiously.
"Know him? Even if he turned to dust, I’d never forget him."
The young man gritted his teeth, glaring at the screen showing Tang Ming: "This bastard has thwarted my plans time and again, I wish I could slice him into a thousand pieces."
"Interesting, so he’s the one who disrupted your operations in the Imperial City and Songlan City, the one who destroyed your sect."
The black-robed woman chuckled darkly: "Seems Mo Liuye also met his end by his hand, right?" 𝙛𝒓𝓮𝙚𝔀𝒆𝒃𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝓵.𝙘𝒐𝒎
"Correct, it was him. I haven’t had the chance to settle the score yet, and he walks right into my trap. No matter what, this time I’ll make sure he has no place to be buried."
The young man shouted with venomous hatred.
"What do you plan to do? These are candidates selected from the medical competition; we’re counting on someone here to aid us, don’t act recklessly."
The black-robed woman warned sternly.
"Heh, just having Tang Ming not sabotage our plans is a blessing, and you expect him to help us? Dream on."
The young man chuckled coldly, resolutely saying, "Don’t worry! Now that he’s fallen into our hands, his fate is sealed. I’ll toy with him slowly until he dies."
