Pushing the gate open, he found the interior was quite complex, divided into three distinct levels.

Below was a deep, dark body of water. It wasn’t completely without light, however; a hole had been carved into the floor of the level above, allowing light to pass through and illuminate a corner of the water’s surface in the distance.

He had no idea how deep the water was. Even shining a flashlight into it, he couldn’t see the bottom.

This bottom level must be the area for aquatic animals to live.

This area was the largest, even more expansive than all the other zones on the level above combined.

Perhaps this was the special treatment reserved for aquatic Giant Beasts.

A land-based Giant Beast’s full size can be taken in at a glance, but the bottomless depths of the sea will always be full of mystery and the unknown.
