My Computer Leads to an Instance Dungeon - Chapter 231 - 183: To Kill and Punish the Heart

The firelight faded, and the red mist from the atomized Blood Burst Secret Medicine was blown away by the shockwave.

Fang Zhen saw Ellick at the center of the explosion.

The Vampire Count was still standing there. He was somehow still alive, his vitality terrifyingly tenacious.

However, while Ellick was still alive, he only had a tenth of his life force remaining. He looked more wretched than if he had simply died.

Over seventy percent of Ellick's muscles had been blown off. It was hard to tell if it was from the gas canister explosion or from the Blood Burst Secret Medicine detonating within him, blasting away his flesh.

Ellick was barely standing. His entire left leg had been stripped of all muscle, leaving only bone and a few blood vessels. Two-thirds of the muscle on his right leg had been blasted away.

And that wasn't all. The skin on the Vampire Count's torso was completely gone, exposing the muscles of his chest and back. Only a thin membrane covered his abdomen, holding his internal organs in.

The muscles on his neck were gone too, revealing the bones beneath. Half of his skull was shattered; one side of his face still had skin, while the other was just stark white bone, making him look like half a skeleton.

Within his skull, his brain, wrapped in a thin membrane, was visibly pulsing.

And even in this state, Ellick wasn't dead.

Ellick stood there, his lidless left eye fixed on Fang Zhen, unable to utter a single word.

Even Fang Zhen found the sight somewhat horrifying.

It wasn't nauseating, though. Ellick looked wretched, but the overall sight was manageableโ€”almost like a living anatomical specimen from a medical school. Once you got over the mental block, it wasn't so much scary as it was just... eerie.

Seeing Ellick still clinging to life like this, Fang Zhen felt a flicker of admiration.

'What a profound will to live.'

Fang Zhen raised his spear and walked over.

Ellick's skull-like head turned, but he couldn't speak. He just stared.

Fang Zhen let out a soft breath. ๐—ณ๐š›๐—ฒ๐•–๐•จ๐•–๐—ฏ๐š—๐š˜๐•ง๐•–๐—น.๐—ฐ๐—ผ๐•ž

'Ashes to ashes, dust to dust.' He and Ellick had both given their all in this fight. In a way, they had become bonded by this battle of life and death.

'Time to send this Vampire Count on his final journey.'

Despite his thoughts, Fang Zhen's strike was perfectly steady, accurate, and ruthless.

The spear lunged like a dragon, piercing the exposed half of Ellick's brain.

That single thrust extinguished the last spark of Ellick's life.

Instead of swelling and exploding as would normally happen to someone afflicted by the Blood Burst Secret Medicine, Ellick's brain had a bizarre reaction.

Ellick's brain rapidly solidified, crystallizing.

In less than a second, Ellick's brain had turned to crystal. Then his head began to grow brittle, and in moments it crumbled like burnt paper, turning into chunks of rubble.

Ellick's head fell off and shattered upon hitting the ground, turning into a pile of what looked like sparkling sand and broken glass.

Ellick's body had been held together by sheer willpower and some substance in his brain. Now that his brain was shattered, the Vampire Count's body could no longer hold itself together and burst apart from within.

All his bones burst into white powder, and his muscles rapidly decayed and shriveled, congealing into a black liquid as thick as crude oil. His body had completely disintegrated.

Fang Zhen watched, not particularly surprised.

Ellick's body had been unnatural from the start, sustained only by some mysterious life force. Now that the force was gone, his already unstable form completely collapsed.

Ellick's head had turned to dust, scattered across the ground.

"Oh?" Fang Zhen suddenly noticed something unexpected.

Amidst the gravelly remains of Ellick's skull, there were five red, diamond-shaped crystals.

The red crystals were small, not much larger than a fingernail, and shaped like diamonds.

He bent down and picked up the five red, diamond-shaped crystals.

'This must be the boss drop. I got something similar when I killed the Dogman Priest, but I still don't know what to do with it.'

He carefully stored the red, diamond-shaped crystals.

His intuition told him that these red crystals would be of great use.

'Ellick had been incredibly hard to kill. His strength was exceptional, his stats were off the charts, and he possessed a host of bizarre skills, making him stronger than any opponent Fang Zhen had ever faced.'

But in the end, Ellick was dead.

Killing such a formidable opponent gave Fang Zhen a great sense of accomplishment.

His self-confidence rose to a new level.

'The Bloody Lord instance is basically cleared.'

'Ellick is dead. I've figured out that the bloody ritual is just the Curse Seal World's version of cloning technology. And the traitor, Tos, has been exposed.'

'I've completed all the instance objectives.'

He straightened up and scanned his surroundings.

The Whig Society's battle was drawing to a close.

The Iron Armor Guards and aberrant test subjects in the hall had been all but annihilated; nothing was left alive.

Meanwhile, the fight between Gwendolyn and Tos was also nearing its conclusion.

Tos's fighting style was that of an Assassin, focused on high-burst damage and fatal strikes, followed by a swift retreat. His profession centered on assassination and disarming traps, so his head-on combat prowess was far inferior to a Warrior like Gwendolyn.

Tos had used his Curse Seal several times, and his Power of Curse Seal was nearly depleted, yet he still couldn't gain an advantage over Gwendolyn.

Karen, Pat, and the others had already finished their own fights, but they didn't interfere with Gwendolyn and Tos's duel.

Gwendolyn needed to settle things with Tos herself.

Just then, Gwendolyn found an opening. Forming a sword-finger with her left hand, she thrust it forward and shouted, "Kun Sha!"

The Kun Sha Seal was unleashed like a mental shockwave. It struck Tos, who immediately became disoriented, his body swaying.

Gwendolyn advanced, kicked the sword from Tos's hand, and pressed her Single-Edged Sword against his neck.

Tos came to his senses, only to find himself disarmed.

Tos stared at the Single-Edged Sword at his neck, then his eyes darted to the side, where he saw that Fang Zhen had killed Ellick.

The former Whig Society member, now a traitor, said nothing.

"Tos, you've lost."

"The Ellick you were counting on has been killed by Fang Zhen. Do you have anything to say for yourself? Do you realize you were wrong?" Gwendolyn asked.

Tos let out a cold laugh.

"Heh, I admit I'm a poor judge of character," Tos said. "I thought Ellick was powerful enough, but it seems he wasn't as strong as I imagined."

"My failure was one of judgment, not ideology. My choice was not wrong."

"If I had another chance, I would still side with the Eternal Night Council. I'd just pick a more powerful, high-ranking aberrant next time, not someone like Ellick."

Hearing this, Gwendolyn was speechless. A wave of helplessness washed over her.

"Master, stop wasting your breath on him. Just kill him," Karen said, her voice full of hatred.

Tos had nearly gotten every member of the Whig Society killed, and he had likely sold out all the information on the society's high-ranking members.

Karen's father was the vice-chairman of the Whig Society, and she herself had been betrayed. She hated Tos's guts.

"It's not that the Master can't bring herself to kill him," Fang Zhen said, walking over. "She just feels she can't do it yet. She needs to make Tos realize his mistake first."

"The Master doesn't just want to kill himโ€”she wants to break his spirit!"
