Fang Zhen guessed the unique drop wasn't the class-specific equipment Gwendolyn had mentioned—the kind only a Tier Four Curse Sealer could use.

The Dungeon Life Game was pretty smart. It wouldn't make a big, solemn announcement just to state a known fact.

Moreover, the prompt used the word 'drop,' not 'trade' or 'acquire.'

Since it was a 'drop,' it was likely something that came from a boss or another hostile unit.

And the president of the Whig Society didn't seem like a dungeon boss.

The unique drop most likely came from a member of the Eternal Night Council. It was probably something other than Tier Four Curse Sealer equipment—perhaps even a material for crafting Magic items.

Fang Zhen was quite looking forward to this unique drop.

'Maybe I'll get something incredible?'

The results screen for the "Bloody Lord" dungeon was nearing its end. He still had 663 Merit Points left.

He needed to set aside 100 points to unlock an elite dungeon and 40 points to unlock intel for the next two. He also needed 40 Merit Points to search for a suitable elite dungeon, and he had to reserve 75 points to hire a combat partner.

That left him with 408 usable Merit Points.

Fang Zhen didn't choose to upgrade his skills immediately.

Last time, he'd managed to get extra experience by exploiting a bug.

He wanted to wait until the next dungeon started before deciding which skill to upgrade based on its challenges.

The same went for his free attribute points. 𝒇𝒓𝒆𝒆𝙬𝒆𝒃𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝙡.𝒄𝓸𝒎

He opened the function bar and found a new tab.

Identification.

The "Items to Identify" tab of the Identification function showed five unidentified items: the five diamond-shaped, Blood-colored Crystals that had dropped when Ellick's body disintegrated.

The Extraordinary Items he had obtained before did not appear in the list.

Fang Zhen noticed a yellow circle with a question mark icon on the Identification tab and moved his mouse cursor over it.

A temporary help and explanation page popped up.

"Explanation of Conditions for the Identification Function:

Note 1: Players can only identify items they have personally acquired. An item's ownership is determined by the Dungeon Life Game's intelligent assessment. This assessment includes, but is not limited to: the distance between the player and the item, the player's claim to ownership, and the item's size and mass.

Note 2: Identification will reveal the item's primary functions. Superfluous or non-essential information will be filtered out.

Note 3: The form of an item may change after identification, requiring re-identification. However, if it contains previously identified elements, re-identification will cost fewer Merit Points.

Note 4: Activating an identified item requires it to be within a certain range of the player. Barring special circumstances, long-distance activation across worlds is not possible, though it may be under certain conditions. Most items require the player to be in physical contact to be activated.

Note 5: All of the above conditions may be subject to change under extremely special circumstances. Each item is subject to its own specific rules."

"Heh." Fang Zhen couldn't help but chuckle at the notes.

'I just had a crazy thought,' he mused. 'What if I found an unclaimed, barren mountain in another world, was the first to discover it, then just put my hand on it and declared it was mine? What would happen?'

'Would the whole mountain show up in the Identification tab, ready to be identified for a few tens of thousands of Merit Points?'

Note 1 quickly put that idea to rest.

The Identification tab's layout consisted of an inventory-like bar at the top, which currently held the five crystals. Below it was a single, square slot that looked like it could only hold one item at a time.

To the right of this single, square slot was a yellow button labeled 'Identify.'

Fang Zhen clicked on one of the diamond-shaped, Blood-colored Crystals and dragged it into the identification slot.

He made a point to check the five Blood-colored Crystals in his pocket.

'The crystals haven't changed. It seems the on-screen items are just for ease of use and don't affect their real-world counterparts.'

The Blood-colored Crystal was now in the identification slot.

A cost of '77 Merit Points' appeared above the Identify button.

Fang Zhen frowned slightly.

'That's a little expensive.'

But he quickly composed himself.

'Expensive is expensive, but on the bright side, it means these diamond-shaped crystals are high-level.'

He pressed the Identify button.

A brilliant golden light flashed across the screen.

The identification results appeared below and to the right of the slot.

"Blood Essence Stone Inheritance: Assassination Step

Type: High-Tier Special Item.

Background Information (Blood Essence Stone): During a bloody ritual, the Vampire Count Ellick faced a critical and solemn problem: how to transfer memories, skills, and knowledge between his different bodies.

His ultimate solution was to use Blood Essence Stone inheritance.

The aging Vampire Count's body actively enters a deep slumber. During this process, the knowledge and memories within his brain continuously coalesce and solidify into a Blood Essence Stone, which remains in his mind.

Each Blood Essence Stone contains a single skill. In this way, the aging vampire divides his memories, soul, and skills into different Blood Essence Stones to be passed on to his newborn successor.

Furthermore, when other high-tier vampire aberrations die, there is a chance they will crystallize one of their abilities into a Blood Essence Stone at the moment of death. The reason and mechanism for this are unknown.

Assassination Step: A secret footwork technique used by High-tier Assassins. It can create visual illusions and requires extremely difficult, long-term training. Once mastered, the user can move like a phantom with agile footwork, making their movements impossible to track and granting them a massive advantage in combat."
