Chapter 194: Chapter 194: Divorce or Widowhood

Kian Sterling was silent for a long time, the look in his eyes strange.

"Cece," Kian Sterling said softly. "Have you forgotten that you and Silas Norwood are still on your honeymoon?"

Is it really appropriate to be gallivanting around with another man during your honeymoon?

Celia Sterling had clearly given this a lot of thought. 𝐟𝕣𝗲𝕖𝕨𝗲𝐛𝗻𝗼𝐯𝗲𝚕.𝗰𝚘𝐦

"Just arrange the itinerary and make time for me, brother." She smiled faintly, holding her glass perfectly steady. "Whatever my brother gets, Silas Norwood will naturally get as well."

What would Silas Norwood get?

After leaving Kian Sterling’s office, Celia Sterling entered the Norwood Group building carrying a small plate of spicy roasted duck.

Theo Chambers tactfully closed the office door and hung a "Do Not Disturb" sign.

Celia Sterling sat on Silas Norwood’s lap, and they shared an immersive, passionate moment for quite some time. Just as Silas was about to carry her to the private lounge, she tugged on the hem of his shirt.

"The roasted duck won’t be good if it gets cold."

"My wife is best enjoyed while she’s hot, too." Silas Norwood was unmoved, hugging her even tighter.

Over an hour later, Silas Norwood fastened his buttons with one hand while using the other to leisurely pick up a piece of the now-cold roasted duck and take an elegant bite.

"I’m planning to make some time to go skiing and rock climbing with my brother," Celia Sterling said in a low voice, lying lazily across his lap.

Silas Norwood was silent for a few seconds. "My wife, I’m not the magnanimous, understanding type of husband."

"I know." Celia Sterling looked at him, her hand unconsciously tracing circles on his leg. "I want to spend more time with him. I might not have the chance later."

"Why do you say that, my wife?"

"Well, I’m married now. I should prioritize my own little family. It wouldn’t be right to always be clinging to my brother." Celia Sterling sighed softly and asked him, "What about you? Is there anything special you want to do? I’ll do it with you."

"You’ve already done everything I want to do with me." The pad of Silas Norwood’s thumb brushed gently across her lips. "And we just did the thing I *really* wanted to do."

"I’m not kidding..." Celia Sterling was speechless. "I meant hobbies and interests."

"I’m different from your brother. For the past few years, I’ve mostly been a hands-off boss, so I’ve had a lot of free time. I’ve already done pretty much everything I’ve ever wanted to." Silas Norwood’s touch moved from her lips to her cheek as he spoke slowly. "If my wife is really insistent on giving me a ’perk,’ I’d like to use it all in bed."

Celia Sterling didn’t get flustered or angry.

She thought about it seriously. "Then starting today, I’ll do whatever Silas says."

"What do you mean, ’do whatever I say’?" Silas Norwood asked, feigning ignorance.

Celia Sterling cleared her throat. "Whatever position, however many times... you get to decide everything."

Silas Norwood didn’t smile.

His amber eyes rested on Celia Sterling, studying her with a faint, probing gaze.

’After the wedding banquet, my wife has truly changed. She’s become gentler, more considerate. The most obvious change is that when we’re intimate, she grants my every wish, passionate as fire. A couple of times, she has even initiated again right after we finished, wrapping her arms around my neck and whispering in my ear that she wants more.’

’It was a pleasant surprise, to be sure.’

’But something was also very wrong.’

「In the middle of the night.」

Silas Norwood once again knocked on the door to Kian Sterling’s room.

This time, Kian Sterling wasn’t asleep yet. He was by the window, smoking. The ashtray was already piled with several cigarette butts.

"If you hadn’t come, I was just about to call you." Kian Sterling pointed to the video call he had almost placed.

Silas Norwood grunted in acknowledgment. "It’s about the same topic we discussed last night."

Kian Sterling slowly stubbed out his cigarette. "Something’s definitely not right. She wants to do all the activities I’m interested in. She was never this considerate before."

"She’s been so compliant it feels unreal."

"What about you?" Kian Sterling asked casually. "What did she promise you?"

That was a difficult question for Silas Norwood to answer.

He lowered his gaze, fiddling with his wedding ring, and said flatly, "What else could it be? Just the thing I want to do most."

"Could it be that she already..." Kian Sterling started to say, but abruptly stopped.

He didn’t want to entertain that speculation.

Naturally, Silas Norwood didn’t want to think about it either.

Neither of them spoke again.

But in their hearts, they both had a nagging suspicion about what was happening.

The annual company party followed right after the wedding banquet.

This year’s party was a joint event between the Sterlings and the Norwood Family. It was massive, and preparations at Metropia’s largest stadium had begun early on.

By the time the party officially started, Celia Sterling had just finished every single recreational activity she had planned with Kian Sterling.

She hadn’t neglected Silas Norwood, either. Although the activities weren’t his particular favorites, he had joined in on every one. Otherwise, with skiing in Montaigne and rock climbing in the canyons of Morellia, his precious nights with his wife would have been anything but guaranteed.

Their pleasant time as a trio ended after lasting for the better part of a month. At the annual party, both Kian Sterling and Silas Norwood went on stage to say a few words. This was followed by a wide variety of employee performances, raffles, and team-building activities, with the boisterous celebration lasting for two full days.

When the annual party concluded, a half-hour fireworks show lit up the sky above the stadium.

Celia Sterling sat between them, staring up at the fireworks, somewhat lost in thought. As the show drew to a close and the bustling stadium began to empty, she smiled faintly and said to Kian Sterling and Silas Norwood, "Brother, Silas, I have something to tell you both."

Kian Sterling and Silas Norwood exchanged a look.

It was exactly what they had been dreading.

「It was past midnight when they returned to the Sterling villa.」

Silas Norwood and Kian Sterling sat in the study, watching Celia Sterling without a word.

Celia Sterling’s almond-shaped eyes darted between the two men before she slowly produced a lab report and placed it in front of them. "On the day of the wedding banquet, I went back to the hall afterward."

Silence was their only response.

"Why aren’t you saying anything?" Celia Sterling sighed. "Neither of you are the type to be vague."

Kian Sterling gave a soft grunt of acknowledgment. "So?"

"What isn’t mine, I can’t just take." Celia Sterling took out a thick stack of documents. "This is everything that belongs to the identity of ’Celia Sterling’—the equity, real estate, various investments. I’ve already signed everything. As of today, it’s all returned to you, brother."

Kian Sterling’s expression grew cold. He lowered his head slightly and scoffed, "Wiping the slate completely clean, are we?"

"Not completely." Kian Sterling’s sudden coldness sent a dull ache through Celia’s heart. She steadied herself and said calmly, "The gifts you gave me—the diamonds, the jewelry, and all that—they add up to an incredible amount. I won’t be returning those. I’ll keep them as mementos."

Kian Sterling stopped speaking and no longer looked at her.

He stood up and walked to the floor-to-ceiling window. His back was turned to them, his figure looking desolate and cold, his expression unreadable.

Celia Sterling’s heart ached.

But she wasn’t finished. There was still someone else waiting.

She turned her head to look at Silas Norwood. "...Silas Norwood."

Silas Norwood was flipping through the lab report. His movements were elegant, with a sense of ease, as if he weren’t looking at something monumental. His expression was terrifyingly calm.

His tone was just as calm. "Call me ’husband’."

It was a name Celia Sterling only used occasionally in private. She froze for a moment, then, for now, complied. "Husband."

"Mm," Silas Norwood finally looked up from the report, his gaze landing gently on her. "What did you want to tell your husband?"

Celia Sterling found it difficult to meet his gentle gaze.

She took a deep breath, trying her best to keep her tone even.

"As for you... everything you gave me, from the marriage swap to the wedding, is just like with my brother. I’ve organized and signed everything. It’s all in the study at Jade Orchid Manor. Besides that..."

She paused. "Should I divorce you under the identity of Celia Sterling, or... should you just file for being a widower?"
