Chapter 113: Indiscriminate Massacre
My Harem of Dangerous and Crazy Women as a Reincarnated Necromancer - Chapter 113: Indiscriminate Massacre
Yuki was the first to move, or rather, Yuki had already moved before anyone could see her.
The two archers who were farthest from the group, up on watchtowers, fell to the ground at the same time with clean cuts across their throats. They didn’t even have time to bleed before their bodies hit the floor, and nobody noticed.
And then Aria raised both hands.
"Reinforcement Spell: Magic Amplification!"
A pulse of light left Aria’s palms and wrapped around Ely, Alice, Rose, and Yuki all at once.
The glow was brief, barely a flash that swept across the four bodies before disappearing.
But the effect was immediate.
"Reinforcement Spell: Defense Boost!"
Another pulse left Aria’s hands, this one fainter, and wrapped around the four with an almost invisible layer that adhered to their bodies.
"Reinforcement Spell: Speed Boost!"
A third pulse went out and made the four move faster. 𝒇𝙧𝙚𝓮𝙬𝙚𝓫𝒏𝓸𝓿𝓮𝒍.𝓬𝙤𝓶
Buff after buff fell on the others, pushing their abilities to even more absurd levels.
Aria lowered her hands and let out a sigh.
"Done, Master," she said, turning her head toward Mark with a smile. "They’re maxed out."
The soldier standing in front of Mark took a moment to process what was happening.
"ATTACK!" the officer shouted, drawing his sword. "KILL THEM A—!"
He couldn’t finish the sentence because Ely was already in front of him.
The distance between them had been ten meters, but Ely covered it in a blink.
Her sword cut through the air horizontally at a speed that left a white trail behind the blade.
"Holy Strike!"
The wave of sacred energy left the sword and cut through the first line of soldiers as if they weren’t there.
Fifty men fell at the same time, cut in two.
The soldiers in the second line didn’t even have time to scream before Ely was among them.
"DEFENSIVE FORMAT—!" someone shouted.
Ely cut down the one shouting before the order was finished.
"Holy Crescent!"
A second slash, this time vertical and upward, sent another wave of energy that curved through the air and swept away several dozen more soldiers.
Bodies flew.
Armor split apart.
Swords that tried to block her shattered on contact with her blade.
"She’s a monster!" a soldier shouted, backing away. "We can’t stop her—!"
Ely drove her sword through his chest without slowing down, pulled it out in the same motion, and spun on her heel to cut down the one coming up behind him.
Meanwhile, on the other side of the camp, Alice was doing her part.
A group of thirty soldiers had formed a defensive position, shields at the front and spears jutting over the top, trying to create a wall that would stop the unstoppable force approaching them.
Alice walked toward them without quickening her pace.
"Golden Lightning Fortification!"
Her body lit up with that golden light and her footsteps began to crack the ground with each step.
"DON’T RETREAT!" shouted the soldier at the front of the formation. "ALL TOGETHER, WE CA—!"
Then Alice’s fist went through the shields, through the soldiers behind the shields, and through the soldiers behind those soldiers.
And the ones at the very back of the formation were launched backward with such force that they slammed into a group of mages who were trying to flee.
"Earth Breaker!"
Alice drove her fist into the ground and a wave of golden energy expanded from the point of impact, lifting every soldier within a thirty-meter radius and hurling them through the air like dolls.
After hitting the ground some tried to get up.
But Alice didn’t let them.
She walked among the fallen and every soldier who tried to stand received a blow that sent them back to the ground permanently.
"Please!" one of the soldiers screamed, dragging himself backward with a broken nose and shattered armor. "Please, I surrender, I surren—!"
Alice leaned down slightly and placed her hand over the man’s face, then closed her fist, crushing his head in under a second.
In the center of the camp, Rose had her arms extended.
"Midnight Rain!"
Hundreds of black fire projectiles appeared above her, forming a massive arc in the sky that covered an entire section of the camp.
The soldiers below looked up.
"RUN!" someone shouted.
But it was already too late, because the projectiles came down on them.
The impact was devastating.
Each projectile exploded on contact with the ground, sending up columns of earth and fire that consumed everything in their radius. The tents ignited instantly, the carts were blown to pieces, and soldiers who failed to move in time were simply incinerated.
"Ice Burst."
Rose launched a second volley, this time of ice spikes that chased down the soldiers who had managed to dodge the first wave.
The spikes found them one by one.
Without exception.
A group of the camp’s mages tried to counterattack, forming a magical barrier and launching fire projectiles at Rose.
Rose simply looked at them with an expression of boredom.
"Void Shield."
The fire projectiles disintegrated before they reached her.
"Little Collapsing Stars."
A single magical circle appeared above the mages. Smaller than the one she had used against Alice in the forest, but more than enough for what she needed.
BOOM!
The detonation erased the mages from the map.
"How tedious..." Rose said, letting out a small yawn.
At the edges of the camp, where the massacre hadn’t yet reached, the smarter soldiers had made the best decision available to them.
Run.
Dozens of them sprinted in every direction, throwing down their weapons, tearing off their armor to run faster, screaming and tripping over each other in their desperation to get as far from what was happening as possible.
But none of them got very far, because Yuki was there.
Every soldier who crossed the camp’s perimeter fell silently.
A clean, quick cut, with no unnecessary suffering. Yuki appeared behind them, her dagger did its work, and she vanished before the body touched the ground.
One.
Five.
Ten.
Twenty.
Fifty.
The bodies accumulated at the edges of the camp, forming a perimeter of corpses that no soldier managed to cross.
"OVER HERE!" a soldier shouted, pointing to the left. "There’s an opening thr—!"
There wasn’t.
Yuki appeared in front of him and her dagger crossed his throat before he could take another step.
The three soldiers coming up behind him stopped dead at the sight of the body falling.
"No..." one of them said with a broken voice. "There’s no way out..."
And while all of this was happening, Mark walked calmly through the camp.
His steps were slow and steady on the blood-stained grass, passing between fallen bodies and the remains of what had been tents.
Around him, the battle, if it could even be called that, continued in every direction.
’Wow... I almost feel sorry for them,’ Mark thought, watching the one-sided massacre.
Then out of nowhere a soldier appeared to his left, running toward him with his sword raised and a desperate cry in his throat.
But he didn’t even get close, Ely’s sword split him in two from head to foot, sending the body tumbling at Mark’s feet.
"Apologies for the trouble, Master," Ely said, shaking off her sword and disappearing back into the chaos.
Mark continued on his way until another soldier tried to attack him from the right, lunging with a spear aimed directly at his torso.
But a golden flash struck him and the soldier flew backward with his chest caved in.
Alice appeared a second later, lowering her fist and heading toward him.
"I’m sorry, my lord, that one got away from me."
"Don’t worry about it, you’re doing a great job," Mark said with a smile.
"Th-thank you for your kind words, my lord."
After saying that, Alice quickly returned to the battle.
Mark kept walking with his eyes fixed on a tent at the far end of the camp.
He reached the entrance, pushed the fabric aside with one hand, and went in.
The inside was spacious, with a table covered in what looked like appealing food and crystal bottles.
And with his back to the entrance, leaning back with a cup in his hand and his feet up on the table, was the officer.
"Damn, this is some good wine," the young blonde man said.
But the officer stopped when he heard Mark’s footsteps behind him.
"About time!" the officer said without turning, assuming it was one of his soldiers. "Tell me, why is there so much noise outside?! And did you bring that moody slave like I asked? God, I can’t wait to show that bitch who’s in charge!"
"..." Mark stood in complete confusion at the ravings of the idiot blonde.
"Hey, did you not hear me?" the officer said, turning his head.
And then he saw Mark standing in the entrance to his tent, hands at his sides and an expression of disgust on his face.
"What the hell are you doing here?" the officer said, eyes wide open. "What did you do to my men?!"
Mark looked at him for a second.
"Hmm... let’s just say I gave them a permanent vacation."
The officer drew his sword with trembling hands and pointed it at Mark.
"Don’t come any closer!" the officer shouted. "I swear if you take one more step—!"
"Yuki" Mark said calmly.
The assassin materialized behind the officer as if she had been there the whole time.
Her dagger rested gently against the man’s throat, and then the officer’s sword clattered to the floor with a metallic ring.
Mark walked over to the table with the bottles and sat down in one of the chairs, pouring himself a cup of wine.
"Yeah, I think I could get used to this" Mark said as he took a sip.
