My husband Can Cultivate
Chapter 538: You Almost Scared Me!
"You’re guaranteed to lose on the third move!" the young prince roared, as if trying to bolster his own courage.
Yang Qi simply smiled. The more assertive the young prince acted, the greater the shock would be when he was defeated.
"Mirror Flower Water Moon! Phantoms from the Void!"
In that instant, the entire arena underwent a bizarre transformation. It was no longer a single mirror; instead, the surroundings seemed to be composed entirely of mirrors. Even the young prince himself appeared to exist within them, dozens of him manifesting at once, making it impossible to tell which was real and which was fake.
The next moment, dozens of young princes launched their attacks, all charging toward Yang Qi.
"Impressive. I really can’t tell them apart," Yang Qi chuckled. "But can you break through my defense?" He simply stood his ground as the green thumb ring on his hand released a verdant sphere, enveloping him completely.
CLANG! CLANG! CLANG!
All of the young prince’s attacks struck the green sphere of light. However, the sphere didn’t show so much as a crack. The young prince’s assault had been utterly useless.
"Three moves have passed. Now, it’s my turn!" The moment Yang Qi’s voice fell, he was already beside the young prince. Weakened from the immense drain of his previous technique, the prince couldn’t block the attack. Yang Qi kicked him square in the face.
The injury was minor, but the insult was immense.
The young prince was sent flying across the arena, a perfect footprint stamped on his face. Lying on the ground, he began to cry. Since he had started his Cultivation of Mirror Flower Water Moon, he had never once been defeated by a peer. Never. Today, his defenses were shattered completely. It wasn’t just the humiliation of a boot print on his face; his very spirit was broken. This was the lowest point of his life, a trial that could define him. If he couldn’t overcome it, he would be lost to despair forever.
"What is going on? He defeated even the young prince in a single move! And after letting him have the first three attacks! The man is a lunatic!"
In the VIP room, the experts from the Jingnan Royal Mansion were too stunned for words.
"Can’t he be stopped?"
"Damn it! Is this guy really going to get a seventy-win streak?"
"What’s there to fear? He’s fought so many matches back-to-back, including five consecutive bouts against masters. I refuse to believe he hasn’t expended a massive amount of energy. There are still five fights to go, and the Second Elder is here, so what is there to fear?"
"For the sixth match, I’ll go," a woman sneered. "He’s just a boy. I refuse to believe he can resist my Bewitching Technique!"
"Good, you go. Just focus on wearing him down. Don’t let him keep up this arrogant display," the others agreed.
Standing on the stage, Yang Qi watched as a voluptuous woman walked up. Her clothes weren’t extravagant, but they were perfectly tailored, outlining her flawless figure. Whether it was from a dedicated fitness regimen or not, the woman was undeniably attractive.
"Well hello, handsome. Am I beautiful?" the woman purred, blowing a kiss that sent many of the men in the audience into a frenzy.
Wang Teng and Yan Duo looked like they were about to leap onto the stage themselves.
Yang Qi’s expression, however, remained utterly cold.
Bewitching Technique!
Li Qiutong had once practiced this very art, wrapping him completely around her finger. The experience had filled Yang Qi with a deep-seated revulsion for it.
"Trying to use the Bewitching Technique on me? Are you looking to die?" Yang Qi suddenly took a step forward. He moved like a gale, appearing instantly before the woman, grabbing her by the neck, and lifting her off the ground.
"Mercy! Mercy! I haven’t hurt anyone!" the woman shrieked, terrified. To her, Yang Qi seemed like a tyrannical beast, and his horrifying killing intent was almost enough to suffocate her. She couldn’t understand why he had suddenly become so violent when he hadn’t been like this before. She was even more clueless as to why her Bewitching Technique had no effect on him whatsoever.
"Get lost!" Yang Qi tossed the woman from the arena, his mood gradually calming. "If I ever find you using the Bewitching Technique to harm someone, I guarantee you will become a corpse!"
"This is a problem. Even the Bewitching Technique is useless against him. The kid’s a monster!"
"It seems even a war of attrition won’t stop him. He doesn’t look tired in the slightest."
"Are we really going to let this kid get a hundred-win streak? The opponents after this are even weaker than us."
"That’s right. If he gets seventy wins, he might as well get a hundred."
Although a sense of despair was setting in, the fight had to go on.
The seventh match: victory.
The eighth match: victory.
The ninth match: victory.
He won them all with ease, each with a single move.
It was the final match for his seventieth consecutive win.
The Second Master of the Jingnan Royal Mansion appeared on the stage.
"It’s him!"
"It’s that old gentleman!"
"Why is he here? Isn’t he a First-Rank Perfection Overlord?"
"Right, isn’t the strongest person on the ninety-ninth floor supposed to be a Half-Step Overlord?"
The audience was stunned. It seemed many people recognized the Second Master of the Jingnan Royal Mansion.
"Hehe, young man, you can surrender now. I certainly won’t stop you," the Second Master of the Jingnan Royal Mansion said with a laugh.
"Surrender?" Yang Qi chuckled. "I finally have an opponent who can excite me. Why would I surrender? However, I’ve heard your reputation isn’t exactly sterling. It’s said you keep eighteen concubines, and half of them were abducted. Is that true?"
"You seem to know quite a bit about me," the elder replied, seemingly unconcerned.
"Also, I heard that you killed the parents who refused to marry their daughters to you," Yang Qi pressed.
"I’ve killed a few," the elder stated indifferently. "They were just worthless lives. Killing them was no big deal. I killed them, and that was that."
"Is that so? Then I suppose I’ll have to take your worthless life as well." Yang Qi took a deep breath. Killing those who deserved to die was one of the things he’d wanted to do ever since he became a Cultivator. He couldn’t stand such behavior, regardless of what anyone else thought.
"Hahahaha! Take my life? Who do you think you are? How dare you act so insolent in my presence? Ridiculous!" the elder roared with laughter. "Don’t you know I am a First-Rank Perfection Overlord?"
"I know. They told me."
"And you still dare to make such an outrageous claim? Don’t you find that laughable?" the elder scoffed.
"I admit, I’ve never killed a First-Rank Perfection Overlord," Yang Qi said calmly. "However, I have killed a First-Rank Peak Overlord, and it wasn’t that difficult. How much stronger could you possibly be? Let’s find out. You’d better give me a surprise, or this will be terribly boring."
The elder’s laughter died in his throat. He realized Yang Qi wasn’t joking. He spoke with such conviction, as if he had truly done it before. For a moment, a flicker of genuine nervousness touched him.
"Hmph, you almost had me scared," the elder snorted, suddenly unleashing a terrifying aura. "But I don’t believe a brat like you, barely in his twenties, could possibly possess such power."
