My Infinite Cultivation System
Chapter 170: Maybe I’ll take a disciple
The old man bowed slightly while maintaining a respectful expression.
"If Teacher Alex is willing to honor us with your presence, this old man would personally host you within the Frost Clan."
Before Alex could respond, another elder standing nearby immediately snorted with obvious disdain. His eyes narrowed as he glanced toward Karion Frost with a mocking expression that carried decades of familiarity and rivalry.
"Old bastard, exactly how many times are you planning to become one thousand years old?"
Several nearby elders instantly coughed while trying to suppress their laughter. The old man continued speaking without restraint as he folded his arms confidently.
"Were you not already celebrating your thousandth birthday three months ago? I still remember you demanding gifts from everyone like a shameless beggar."
Karion Frost immediately became embarrassed after hearing those words. The dignified appearance he maintained earlier vanished completely as his face darkened from anger. The veins on his forehead visibly twitched while the surrounding temperature began dropping rapidly.
"You lizard bastard," he roared furiously. "Do you want war with the Frost Clan?"
The other elder sneered coldly without showing the slightest fear. His pupils briefly transformed into narrow reptilian slits before returning to normal.
"You think I am afraid of your frozen potatoes? Your Frost Clan has been declining for the last two centuries. Even your younger generation cannot defeat our disciples anymore."
Karion instantly took a step forward with terrifying pressure erupting from his body. At the same time, the other elder released his own aura in response. The air between them distorted violently as spiritual energy collided in the middle of the plaza.
Several titled douluos nearby immediately retreated with helpless expressions. Clearly, this was not the first time those two had nearly started fighting in public.
Alex quietly rubbed his forehead before speaking in a calm voice.
"Alright. That is enough."
The moment his words fell, the entire plaza instantly became silent. The violent spiritual pressure dispersing through the surroundings disappeared completely as though it had never existed.
Alex glanced toward the gathered titled douluos calmly.
"I can visit your clans one by one if time permits."
The eyes of the surrounding elders immediately brightened after hearing those words. Excitement appeared across nearly every face as several people visibly straightened their posture.
However, Alex calmly added another sentence before anyone could celebrate too early.
"If you allow me to enter your libraries."
Silence briefly appeared across the plaza.
Then chaos immediately erupted once more.
"Our Frost Clan library possesses records dating back to the Second Era. Even Heavenly Origin Academy does not possess some of our ancient texts."
"Nonsense. Our Heavenly Sword Library is second only to Heavenly Origin Academy itself. We possess complete inheritance records from ancient sword saints."
"Our clan has seventeen underground archives hidden beneath the ancestral mountain. Some records have not been touched for thousands of years."
"Our Thunder Hall possesses original beast migration records from the ancient wilderness."
The titled douluos immediately began speaking over one another while trying desperately to attract Alex’s attention. Some even directly insulted rival clans while praising themselves shamelessly.
Lucien finally lost patience.
"Enough."
His voice exploded across the plaza like thunder. The surrounding air shook violently while every elder instantly fell silent once more.
"All of you old fools can leave now."
Lucien waved his sleeves impatiently while glaring at everyone present.
"Teacher Alex requires rest. If any of you continue causing trouble here, I will personally throw you out of the academy."
The titled douluos revealed unwilling expressions immediately afterward. However, none of them dared oppose Lucien directly within Heavenly Origin Academy.
One by one, they reluctantly departed while repeatedly inviting Alex to visit their clans in the future. Several even secretly transmitted spiritual messages before leaving, clearly attempting to establish favorable impressions early.
Only after the final elder disappeared did the plaza finally become peaceful again.
Lucien released a tired sigh before revealing a bitter smile.
"Please forgive those old fools. They have spent too many years fighting one another."
Alex merely nodded calmly.
"It is understandable."
Lucien gestured politely afterward.
"Please come with me. I will show you your residence personally."
Soon afterward, Alex followed Lucien toward the inner academy region. The scenery gradually became more magnificent as they advanced deeper into Heavenly Origin Academy. Ancient mountains surrounded the inner district while countless spiritual formations glowed faintly beneath the ground.
The villa prepared for Alex stood near the center of the inner city itself. Spiritual rivers flowed peacefully around the residence while dense heaven and earth energy naturally gathered in the surrounding area. Even the nearby trees possessed unusually rich spiritual vitality.
Clearly, this was one of the finest cultivation locations within the entire academy.
Alex observed the surroundings briefly before nodding slightly in satisfaction.
"The environment is acceptable."
Lucien secretly sighed in relief after hearing that response. If even this residence failed to satisfy Alex, he truly would not know what else he could provide.
The night passed peacefully afterward.
The next morning, Alex calmly walked through the inner academy region toward the central administrative district. His expression remained relaxed while countless students and teachers unknowingly passed beside him.
Today officially marked his first day as a teacher within Heavenly Origin Academy.
More importantly, he wished to personally observe the academy students. Among them, there might exist extraordinary talents capable of assisting him in locating the soul beasts he sought.
Soon afterward, Alex arrived outside Lucien’s office.
The old headmaster personally welcomed him with obvious enthusiasm.
"Teacher Alex, did you rest well last night?"
Alex nodded slightly before taking a seat calmly.
"It was acceptable."
Lucien immediately laughed softly before personally preparing tea for him. Such treatment would have shocked countless academy elders if they witnessed it themselves.
After exchanging several casual words, Alex finally spoke again.
"I would like to observe the students today."
Lucien immediately nodded.
"Of course. I have already prepared arrangements if necessary."
Alex leaned back slightly afterward while holding the teacup calmly.
"If possible, I would also like recommendations."
A faint smile appeared on his face as he continued speaking.
"If someone manages to catch my interest, I may accept a disciple."
The teacup in Lucien’s hand froze instantly.
For a brief moment, the old headmaster even forgot to breathe properly. Then his eyes widened sharply as genuine shock appeared across his face.
A disciple.
Someone capable of becoming the disciple of a mysterious existence like Alex would undoubtedly experience a transformation beyond imagination.
Lucien understood clearly what such an opportunity truly represented.
It was no longer merely fortune.
It was destiny itself.
Regret immediately appeared within Lucien’s heart afterward.
"Damn it," he thought bitterly. "I should have created a few more children back then."
Then he quickly looked toward Alex again.
"Are you certain about this?" he asked carefully.
Alex calmly placed the teacup down.
"It is not absolute. I will only accept someone truly extraordinary if they manage to catch my attention."
Lucien instantly nodded repeatedly.
"Alright. Alright. I definitely have several recommendations. However, would you prefer observing the students personally first before meeting the candidates I prepared?"
Alex nodded calmly.
"That would be best."
A faint smile appeared on his face afterward.
"Let us begin from the outer academy instead. Unpolished gems are often buried beneath mud."
Lucien immediately nodded in agreement.
"Teacher Alex is truly wise. Would you like us to use disguises before entering?"
"No need."
Alex casually waved his hand.
The next instant, both his body and Lucien’s became completely transparent. Their presence vanished so thoroughly that even Lucien himself could barely sense his own existence anymore.
Lucien unconsciously swallowed hard.
At that moment, the old headmaster felt increasingly convinced that Alex was not merely some hidden expert. Every ability this young man displayed exceeded normal understanding entirely.
Lucien suspected Alex might truly be a divine existence.
However, he did not dare ask directly.
Instead, he silently transmitted a secret spiritual message toward the supreme clans connected to Heavenly Origin Academy.
"Teacher Alex may choose a disciple."
Alex naturally noticed the message instantly. However, he did not interfere and merely smiled faintly.
After all, he genuinely required a disciple with extraordinary destiny and unusual opportunities. Such individuals often possessed connections, luck, and hidden encounters capable of uncovering information ordinary people would never discover.
That was precisely why Alex remained flexible regarding the disciple selection.
Meanwhile, the supreme clans erupted into complete chaos after receiving Lucien’s message.
"What?"
"Immediately gather every young genius within the clan."
"Send all of them toward the outer academy at once."
"If anyone dares disobey this order, they will be disowned immediately."
Similar commands echoed throughout multiple ancient clans simultaneously. Countless young talents who were previously cultivating, sleeping, training, or enjoying leisure activities were forcibly dragged toward Heavenly Origin Academy without understanding what had happened.
