My Kingdom Building Done Right!
Chapter 165: Leone’s and Blitz’s Plan B!
"B-Brother?!" Travis’ eyes widened in horror when he saw his brother get pushed into his cell.
The latter crashed on the ground.
"T-Travis?" Cain slowly propped himself up and looked at the young man in front of him, who was the source of the hardships he had suffered. "You bastard!"
Without any warning, Cain punched his brother, which made the latter stagger.
"It’s your incompetence that sent me here! It’s all your fault!"
Cain repeatedly pummeled Travis with punches. The latter could only curl his body into a defensive stance in return, enduring the punishment that was raining down on his body.
"If you hadn’t done something stupid, none of this would have happened! That bastard wouldn’t have gotten a reason to hurt me! It’s all your damn fault!"
He didn’t hold back at all and punched with everything he had. Though, just as he was about to continue his rampage, a bolt of lightning hit his body, making him scream in pain.
Travis watched as his brother collapsed on the ground beside him, feeling grateful that his punishment had come to an end.
His gaze then landed on the squirrel perched on the stone pillars of their prison.
Kael was also there, standing calmly while playing with his beard.
"At first I was doubtful," Kael said. "But when Leone said that shock therapy is a very effective therapy to make arrogant people behave, I followed Blitz here for their so-called Plan B. As expected of my Great Chieftain!"
*Squeak!*
Blitz nodded its head in agreement before unleashing a lightning bolt once again at the bastard playing dead on the ground.
"Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!" Cain shouted and rolled on the ground as if his clothes were on fire. "Stop it! Please stop it!"
"We will only stop if you apologize to your brother," Kael stated.
*Squeak!*
Blitz nodded its head in agreement. The Plan B that Leone said was special.
The B stood for "Brainwash," which he planned to use on the two heirs of the Darkmane Tribe through shock therapy!
Kael was assigned to handle this matter since he excelled the most in scheming among Leone’s vassals.
"Still don’t want to apologize to your brother?" Kael asked after Cain had been shocked a few more times.
"S-Stop!" Cain begged. "I’m sorry, Travis! I’m sorry!"
Travis stared at his arrogant older brother who had never groveled on his knees in their entire life.
Both of them enjoyed a life of luxury and prestige. However, there had been more than one time when Cain had undermined Travis’ honor and dignity in public.
But since his older brother was stronger and fiercer than him, Travis endured everything and only did whatever he could to win the succession war.
Now, that same arrogant and distasteful brother of his was begging for his forgiveness, making him feel a sense of superiority.
"Your apology lacks sincerity," Kael commented. "Blitz, if you’d please."
*Squeak!*
Another lightning bolt hit Cain’s body in response, making him shout before he fainted on the spot. Unfortunately, fainting would not help him because Blitz was very good at waking people up!
Without a hint of mercy, Blitz used a lower-voltage bolt to shock Cain awake, making the latter regret his decision in coming to Grimjaw Mountain for the umpteenth time.
"I’m sorry, Travis!" Cain pleaded with tears and snot leaking out from his eyes and nose. "Please forgive me! I beg you! I’ll do anything! Just forgive me!"
Seeing Cain pushed to the limit and close to being broken, Travis couldn’t help but laugh out loud.
"Forgive you?!" Travis shouted after his laughter ended. "After you treated me like trash and a doormat?!"
This time, the younger man no longer held back and kicked the side of his brother’s body.
"You bastard! How dare you blame me for everything!" Travis roared in anger as he kicked his brother over and over again. "You arrogant prick. Your only merit is being born earlier than me! How dare you treat me like a dog?!"
All the hardship, humiliation, and dishonor Travis had endured over the past years flashed before his eyes. These memories that made him cry in his room at night in secret rose up en masse, fueling the rage that was long overdue.
Blitz and Kael exchanged glances with each other after that. The two then smirked at the same time and thought the same thing.
’Just as planned!’
They would then play the roles of a good and bad cop, with Kael as the good, and Blitz as the bad.
Leone’s bootlicker would make sure that either Travis or Cain became broken until there was nothing left of their pride and arrogance.
Of course, if both of them broke, then that would be better. Though, with limited time at their disposal, Kael could only make one of them Leone’s people.
’To think that there would be an opportunity for me to mess with the heirs of a high-ranking tribe.’ Kael laughed internally. ’Leone really is the best! If only Yuni didn’t confiscate that aphrodisiac...’
He was still unable to get over the fact that the prize he won at the Wheel of Fortune was snatched right before his eyes. Then again, there was no use in crying over spilled milk.
Kael just needed to focus on the mission given to him, which had a deadline set as early as half a month later.
Just a little over two weeks. But, if Kael worked overtime, Cain or Travis would eventually break!
Blitz was also very happy with this job. Beating up the people who had badmouthed its Master was something that it wanted to do personally.
After all, it was actually hitting two birds with one stone, so it worked perfectly.
Meanwhile, in the village where the warriors of the Darkmane Tribe were being kept in custody...
"You guys... what are you doing here?" The first batch of warriors looked at their comrades in disbelief. "The members of the Grimfang Tribe were already released. Have you come here to pay for our ransom as well?"
Just like the warriors of the Grimfang Tribe, their bodies had also improved a lot from their daily digging.
They all looked healthier as well, and no signs of mistreatment was evident. Because of that, they were shocked when they saw their old comrades being sent to this village, which served as their living quarters.
"Our chieftain didn’t pay the full price for your ransom!" one of the warriors that had now become a prisoner of war replied in anger. "Who would have thought that the Chieftain of the Aslan Tribe is a crazy madman? If I only knew, then I wouldn’t have volunteered to come!"
The other warriors nodded in agreement. They thought that this was just a simple dispatch assignment, so they volunteered to follow their Young Lord to Grimjaw Mountain.
They were also very curious about what the Chieftain of the Aslan Tribe was like. In fact, all of them thought that they were going to watch a good show as their Young Lord humiliated the Aslan Tribe.
Yet, what happened next was a complete reversal of what they imagined.
The one who was humiliated in public was their Young Lord, and one of their comrades had even died in the conflict.
Another was personally beaten by Ulric.
Hearing their reply, the first batch of warriors looked at their comrades in dismay. They also had no idea that Leone was like a snapping turtle.
They looked docile, but put your hand near their head, and you’d be bitten without warning!
"What now?" the current leader of the first batch of warriors asked. "What is going to happen to you guys, then?"
"Five of us will return to our camp tomorrow, while the rest will remain here," one of the warriors replied. "This time, the Aslan Tribe gave the tribe an ultimatum. Our chieftain must pay twenty wagons of iron ores, or he would behead the two Young Lords. As for us... I don’t know what will happen to us if the ransom is not paid."
"M-Madness! Does he want the Darkmane Tribe to declare war on the Aslan Tribe?!" one of the warriors belonging to the first batch of prisoners exclaimed. "Is he not afraid?!"
"He doesn’t seem like it," a warrior commented. "In fact, it seems like he’s even looking forward to it."
The oldest, and probably wisest among the warriors of the first batch spoke up.
"I have a feeling that he will use the Darkmane Tribe as an example for the other high-ranking tribes." The older warrior sighed. "Frankly, I am terrified of what that person is thinking right now."
"Brothers. Since we have all gathered here, how about we all escape together?" one of the warriors of the second batch proposed. "Your arms are not tied, and your feet have no shackles. Why not just make a run for it?"
The second batch of prisoners were wondering why none of the prisoners of war had tried to escape.
There was not even a single guard stationed around them.
The moment they were delivered to the village, the warriors of the Aslan Tribe left them alone, free to do whatever they wanted.
"You don’t understand." One of the first batch of warriors shook his head. "Escaping from this place is futile. The Aslan Tribe doesn’t need to put us in chains. We’re already trapped here unless we receive permission to leave. 𝗳𝚛𝗲𝕖𝚠𝚎𝚋𝗻𝗼𝕧𝗲𝐥.𝚌𝚘𝐦
"We only have two options if we want to leave—be granted pardon or wait until we die," another warrior commented. "That’s the truth and nothing but the truth. If you want, how about you try to escape on your own? I’ll make sure to put a flower on your grave."
Seeing that the warrior didn’t look like he was joking, the second batch of the warriors started to exchange wary glances.
The fact that no guards were stationed around them was strange enough. It was as if the Aslan Tribe didn’t care whether they escaped or not.
The first batch of prisoners only looked at their comrades with pity.
They believed that their tribesmen would soon find out with their own bodies that there was no escaping Grimjaw Mountain unless you had a death wish.
