Chapter 89: Shelving Testimonial

After a bit of a bumpy ride, we’ve come to the time to put this book on the shelves. I wonder how many of you followed me over from my last novel? Awkward...

This book’s performance has been pretty average so far, but I’m not too disappointed...

As we all know, fantasy novels like this one basically only hit their stride in the middle and late stages—at least one or two million words in. Or, you could say that’s when they start becoming a truly satisfying read.

At only a hundred or two hundred thousand words, the opening groundwork hasn’t even been fully laid. Even if you guys think the early content is decent, you’ll still choose to let the Chapters pile up, planning to check back in once it hits several hundred thousand or even a million words. Because of that, the daily readership numbers are bound to be low.

...After all, I can’t expect every reader who’s waiting to binge-read to also go out of their way to click on the latest Chapter and scroll to the final page every day, can I?

I get it.

So, this message is mainly for those of you who are still keeping up with the daily releases...

You’ve followed the story this far... so how about subscribing?

The number of initial subscriptions is incredibly important.

It determines all the future promotion the novel gets.

And whether or not I’ll be able to put food on the table...

It’s tough writing web novels these days, and I rely on it to support my family. I don’t have the luxury of writing purely for the love of it...

Being able to make ends meet is crucial for me.

So, if you feel this book is decent, something you can get into, and if you have the means, please consider dropping an initial subscription and reading the official release.

I kowtow to you in thanks.

Okay, next up is the update schedule after we go premium.

From now on, I’ll do my best to release eight to ten thousand words or more per day. However, releasing it in two-thousand-word Chapters is a bit of a hassle, so I’ll probably combine them into larger Chapters of four or five thousand words each.

I will strive to ensure the quality remains high while also giving you all plenty to read.

I won’t say much more.

I’m off to get back to writing.

...The rest, I leave to you all.
