My Online Girlfriend Has a Twin Sister
Chapter 344 - 232: My Name is Jiangg Ning, My Name is Jiangg Yao
No matter how ruthless Chen Yuan wanted to be, he couldn’t bring himself to embarrass Jiangg Ning right now. They had been a couple, after all, and no decent guy would be so heartless as to ignore his ex completely.
That’s why a relationship is so hard to sever when one person is dead set on clinging on.
Besides, the eyes of half the lecture hall were fixed on them, with everyone trying to guess what was happening.
Chen Yuan didn’t have time to think. He stood up, turned his head slightly, and made room for Jiangg Ning to get past him into the row.
Their bodies brushed as she passed. Jiangg Ning smoothed out her skirt and settled into the seat.
The classroom noise should have continued for a while longer, but a moment later, an old professor with a steady gait walked in through the doorway, a cigarette dangling from his lips and a teacup in hand.
The professor’s hair was graying at the temples. He had a mole on his brow ridge, broad cheeks, and a dark complexion.
At first glance, he looked quite imposing.
But the smoke slowly drifting from his mouth and the casual way he held the cigarette added a certain air of nonchalance to his appearance.
The school had an explicit rule against smoking in the classroom. Teachers weren’t allowed to, and students certainly weren’t. The place would be a chaotic mess if everyone was puffing away. But such regulations were difficult to enforce on veteran professors.
Most of them were old, held high status, and had made significant contributions to the school and the nation. In a society like Huaxia’s, which runs on personal connections, rules were always flexible.
Whether it was students or the disciplinary staff, they could only turn a blind eye to the rule.
"Class is in session." The old professor thumped his teacup on the desk and announced in a low voice.
He didn’t bother to sit down. As was his habit, he scanned the classroom, coughed twice, and began to lecture.
The students, who had been sitting ramrod straight, instantly relaxed. Once the lecture began, the old professor wouldn’t have the energy to peer through his coke-bottle glasses to see who was spacing out. As long as no chatter reached his ears, it was proof enough that most of the students were listening attentively.
In the back of the classroom, Chen Yuan felt utterly restricted. The twins had him sandwiched between them, boxing him into the cramped space.
More and more students kept turning to look. After their gazes locked onto the trio, they would tug on their friends’ sleeves and start whispering among themselves.
They were probably discussing what on earth was going on.
Most of the students began to listen to the lecture, and the oppressive feeling of being stared at finally dissipated. Jiangg Yao relaxed a little. She couldn’t remember the last time she’d sat in a classroom for a lesson. As she recalled, even her high school attendance had been sporadic.
The faint smell of sweat from the surrounding crowd made her feel rather uncomfortable.
’But for my Little Master’s sake, I can endure it all.’
Jiangg Yao turned to look at Chen Yuan, whom she hadn’t seen for days. She nudged him gently with her elbow and leaned in, bringing her delicate face close to his. Her white dress gave her a vibrant, youthful campus air.
Her beauty and Jiangg Ning’s were not cookie-cutter identical, nor were they the kind that would make one face-blind. It was more a unique effect created by the combination of their individual auras and appearances.
Chen Yuan suddenly caught a fragrant scent. He lifted his head and saw a beautiful face inches from his own.
"Still mad at me...?" Jiangg Yao whispered.
At the same time, Jiangg Ning also leaned in close.
"Yaoyao and I won’t bother you during the lecture, don’t worry."
’This isn’t bothering me?’
’With the two of them pinning me down like this, what kind of superhuman could possibly pay attention to the lecture?’
"What are you two doing at the university?" he asked, keeping his voice down.
"To get you back."
"To ask for your forgiveness."
"Wait, didn’t we already talk about this?" he said, slightly annoyed. "Everything’s been settled."
Perhaps it was because the sisters’ sudden appearance had left him utterly flustered, but Chen Yuan’s voice came out a little too loud.
A few students in the row ahead turned to give them a strange look.
"So you’re dead set against getting back together, then?" Jiangg Yao pouted, seemingly unsurprised by his reaction.
Or perhaps, they already had a way to handle it.
"Yeah..."
"Alright. This is the last time I’ll ask. I won’t bring it up again."
"Me neither," Jiangg Ning promised as well.
She put her phone down, resting it on the white fabric of her skirt over her knees.
They had both worn similar outfits, not to confuse people, but because they had tacitly chosen nearly identical styles before leaving home. The only differences were minor variations in the bust and waistline.
Such an outfit was fitting for a university campus, and it helped to slightly conceal their mature charm.
Besides, if you looked closely at their faces...
Jiangg Yao had airy bangs, giving her a more playful and less serious look than her sister. Jiangg Ning’s skirt was longer, revealing her slender ankles only when she walked and the hem fluttered.
Their shoes were different, too, though both pairs were ivory white.
When they weren’t speaking, Chen Yuan could only tell them apart by the bangs—and that was after he had been dating one of them for over half a year.
That just went to show how remarkably similar the two of them were.
It was safe to say that if they swapped outfits and deliberately pretended to be the other, they could easily fool Chen Yuan.
If he couldn’t tell them apart, no one else stood a chance.
The three bros who had given them their seats were whispering amongst themselves, trying to figure out which one was the older sister and which was the younger.
They couldn’t agree.
"You really won’t bring it up again? Then why are you here at the university? Don’t tell me you came for the lecture." Chen Yuan was taken aback, glancing from one to the other.
’They don’t look like they’re lying.’
"My sister and I talked it over. Since you don’t want to get back together, how about I start pursuing you all over again? Anyone has the right to chase after someone they like. You can’t refuse me that," Jiangg Ning said softly.
"I’m going to chase you too, Little Master. Be my... boyfriend."
Jiangg Yao’s eyes crinkled as she smiled, a beautiful expression that was like a thousand flowers blooming at once.
"Fair and square. No lies."
"Whoever wins you over does so on her own merit. And it’s your choice."
"If we don’t succeed, we’ll just keep trying. We’ll keep pestering you."
"They say it’s easy for a woman to win over a man—that there’s only a thin veil between them. Chen, you said you’ve already forgiven us. So if we start over from scratch, you won’t hold any grudges about the past deception, will you?"
"You need to think carefully, Little Master, about whose boyfriend you’ll become."
The two went back and forth, one sentence after another.
They left Chen Yuan completely stunned.
He glanced to his left, then to his right, his eyes filled with utter disbelief. 𝙛𝓻𝒆𝓮𝒘𝙚𝙗𝒏𝙤𝙫𝓮𝒍.𝓬𝒐𝙢
The two sisters really had found the only way out of this impasse. And he couldn’t find a single flaw in their plan.
"Wait a minute..." Chen Yuan rubbed his face and took a deep breath. "Just... let me think for a second."
"There’s no law against chasing your ex-boyfriend."
"We won’t interfere too much with your life, either."
"You can go back to listening to the lecture, Little Master. We can be quiet."
"But then again, Chen, you probably can’t focus on the lecture now anyway. So how about... we get reacquainted?"
"Good idea."
Jiangg Yao nodded in agreement and held out her pale hand. Just then, another slender hand appeared before him as well.
"Hello, Chen. My name is Jiangg Ning."
"And I’m Jiangg Yao."
The twin sisters exchanged a glance, taking in Chen Yuan’s mortified expression.
They beamed.
