My Online Girlfriend Has a Twin Sister
Chapter 348 - 234: Profound Brotherhood, Chen Yuan Doesn’t Know There Are Two Moles in the Dorm (Part 2)
But Jiangg Ning was not one to be outdone, merely giving her a contemptuous glance.
For some reason, both sisters felt certain they would be the final winner.
It seemed they were already prepared to watch the other walk away in tears and defeat.
...
「Early the next morning.」
The morning sun shone on the sprawling canopies of the trees on campus. South of the Second Academic Building, rows of old pagoda trees and cypresses had sprouted new, tender green leaves. Sunlight filtered through the needles, dappling the spotlessly clean paths with light.
Landa University was among the last to start the semester; schools elsewhere in the country had begun their academic year several days earlier.
Even so, banners had already been hung along the tree-lined avenues, and many cleaning staff were busy around campus. Swarms of little bees buzzed before the stone-altar garden, their round, striped bottoms sticking up as they buried their heads in the flowers.
The vibrant, thriving scenery of spring was everywhere.
Jiangg Ning walked out of the Academic Affairs Office and nodded slightly to a somewhat balding man in thanks. "Director Zhai, thank you for all your trouble this time. You must promise to have a meal with me next time you’re free."
"Professor Jiangg, you’re too kind. It was just issuing two auditor’s passes. No trouble at all."
"It may be no trouble for you, Director, but it’s a huge help to me," Jiangg Ning said, her gratitude sincere.
Her timing today had been unfortunate. When she arrived at the university, Zhai Tingfeng, the person in charge of these matters, had already gone home for a meal. He had turned back after receiving a call on his way. No matter how you looked at it, Jiangg Ning had interrupted his personal time, yet Director Zhai had handled her request without a single delay.
He could have made an excuse and pushed it off, forcing Jiangg Ning to come back in the afternoon, but he hadn’t.
Back when she was at the university, Jiangg Ning had hardly ever spoken to Director Zhai. To be treated so favorably, she naturally had to respond with equal courtesy.
"It’s a shame I won’t have the chance to work with Jiangg anymore. Do you have plans for what’s next?"
"I haven’t really thought about it. I probably won’t be teaching anymore."
"That’s fine too. Life is all about change, after all. I wish you a bright future," Zhai Tingfeng said, waving his hand. "I won’t keep you. I have to hurry home to buy groceries and cook, or my wife will start nagging me again."
"Take care, Director."
Jiangg Ning watched him walk away. Just before turning the corner of the academic building, Director Zhai looked back and added, "If you have any other trouble at the university, feel free to find me," before quickening his pace and leaving.
She couldn’t help but think, ’What an honest and sincere man.’
The ironic thing was that Director Zhai was clearly competent and easygoing, yet he hadn’t been promoted in over a decade. He’d probably stay in his director position until retirement. At the end of the day, the university was also a society built on personal connections.
Jiangg Ning lowered her head, her gaze fixed on the auditor’s passes she had just obtained. She started walking through the campus.
Today, she wore a long, khaki-colored coat that reached her ankles, its long belt cinched tightly around her slender waist. Combined with the agate earrings hanging from her earlobes, her overall aura had less gentle grace, but gained an indescribable, brilliant charm.
Her mission was accomplished. With these auditor’s passes successfully issued, she and Jiangg Yao could now come and go from campus as they pleased.
At this thought, Jiangg Ning’s steps became much lighter. The slender heels of her shoes lifted higher than before, a small sign of her elation.
She walked beneath the tall pagoda trees and cypresses.
The wind felt gentle, and so did the light.
...
In the afternoon, Chen Yuan had taken Liu Nan to an internet cafe. Coincidentally, instead of contacting Chen Yuan, Jiangg Ning sought out his other two, more "dependable" roommates: Quan Yafeng and Wei Zhen.
「Inside a men’s dorm at Landa University.」
Quan Yafeng and Wei Zhen sat facing each other, their expressions grave.
"Wei Zhen, what do you think? Why did Jiangg suddenly ask us to meet?" 𝗳𝚛𝗲𝕖𝚠𝚎𝚋𝗻𝗼𝕧𝗲𝐥.𝚌𝚘𝐦
"It’s obvious. It must be about Yuan. I bet it’s because the twins are fighting, and now she probably wants us to talk some sense into Yuan."
"No way," Quan Yafeng said, shaking his head vehemently. "I respect Jiangg, but after how they’ve treated our brother, I will absolutely not say a single good word for them."
"Yafeng, you and I are on the same page. Let’s make a pact: later, we’ll just listen to what she has to say. We won’t refuse, but we won’t agree to anything either. Then we’ll report back to Yuan."
"Yeah, yeah! It’s a deal."
"Let’s go, then."
With that, the two stood up together. Filled with firm conviction and sincere loyalty to their brother, they walked resolutely out of the dorm.
「Deep Sea Blue Whale Restaurant.」
Inside a quiet and private room, a waitress clad in a peony-patterned qipao was carefully mixing a sauce with her head lowered. The dress revealed her curvaceous and beautiful figure.
But what was even more stunning was...
Two identical girls, so beautiful it was breathtaking, sat primly in their chairs.
Quan Yafeng’s eyes went wide as he stared at the table laden with luxurious seafood. The sweet aroma of steamed king crab made his mouth water. He had expected Jiangg to treat them to a meal, but a spread this expensive was completely beyond his expectations.
He hadn’t just never eaten it before; he’d never even seen it.
Unlike his companion, who was tempted by the food, Wei Zhen was rational. After surveying the dishes, his resolve not to be bought off was only strengthened.
Eating face-to-face with Chen Yuan’s twin girlfriends—Jiangg Ning and Jiangg Yao—made them a little intimidated. The two sisters were so beautiful that it was embarrassing to even let their gazes linger on their faces to get a good look.
’Yuan really is a lucky guy.’ The thought was mutual. They exchanged a look of tacit understanding.
"Ahem—it’s a pleasure to meet you both. I’m Jiangg Yao, sister to Jiangg, your philosophy professor." Jiangg Yao tilted her head slightly, offered a polite smile, and extended her hand in a gesture of goodwill.
