Chapter 1224: The Elders’ Demise
Swish, swish.
Ye Fan cut down two guards, the blade in his hand snatched back from Song Meimei; naturally, it belonged to the guards.
With the death of the two guards, the lineup besieging Ye Fan was supplemented by another two.
Ye Fan wielded the Slaying Blade, slashing left and right, seizing every opportunity to eliminate a threat.
"At all costs, kill!" The guards were desperate, fearlessly charging at Ye Fan as if their lives depended on it.
The slaughter continued, yet the Elders witnessing the scene were deeply unsettled.
"Even with this, he remains alive, finding chances to hunt down our people," said the Great Elder, deeply concerned.
"At this rate, things look grim. If Ye Fan isn’t killed, we can’t die in peace. Half of the guards are already dead. What now?" The Second Elder fretted, eyes wide with anxiety.
The Seventh Elder feigned calm: "He’s surely pretending to be strong. I suspect he’s at the end of his rope."
"Hold on, everyone, hold on! Don’t let him catch his breath. Attack with all your might." The Great Elder screamed hysterically, unwilling to relent until Ye Fan was dead.
"It’s great, the more that die, the better. Seeing you all scared out of your wits is utterly delightful." Song Tianba stood at a corner, mocking loudly.
"Song Tianba, stop gloating. Be careful, or we might just kill you first." The Fourteenth Elder threatened.
"I’m gloating, so what are you going to do? Bite me, go ahead." Song Tianba said dismissively. "Want to kill me? I’d gladly accept it. If you have the guts, come on."
Song Tianba didn’t care about life or death anymore. Tricked by Sky Net so miserably, he wouldn’t show his face again, nor face his daughter. If he hadn’t been deceived, he could still mend his lies. He might persuade his family for their sake.
But now, it’s too late; even if Sky Net doesn’t kill him, Ye Fan will never spare him.
"What a pathetic wretch, forget about him, let him die at the hands of others. After all, as a pawn, he’s aligned with us," the Great Elder expressed disdain towards Song Tianba.
"Slash!" Amidst the carnage, Ye Fan faced the heavy assault from the guards, killing his enemies while taking a hit.
This strike nearly pierced his abdomen, narrowly dodged to only graze it.
But even so, it unleashed a spray of blood, tearing open a sizeable chunk of flesh.
After another bout of fighting, the slaughter finally came to an end.
The guards attacking Ye Fan were all dead.
In the end, Ye Fan was the only one left alive.
However, he was stabbed again.
Beyond the slash from Song Meimei, he suffered two more stabs.
The cumulative effect of the three wounds was severe.
He persisted, relying on sheer will, accustomed to such injuries, though not fatal.
Yet, he felt it—this time the wounds were extraordinary, perhaps dire.
All around him, bodies of the guards lay scattered, blood-soaked.
Ye Fan himself was covered in bloodstains, his clothes drenched in red.
"What? How?" The Great Elder looked at the other Elders, overwhelmed by shock.
The Elders wore expressions of disbelief, the spectacle was profoundly heart-stirring.
"How did he manage to hold out and slay all our men while staying alive?" The Second Elder exclaimed, wide-eyed and mouth agape, the shock Ye Fan brought was terrifying indeed.
"How did he do it?" The Seventh Elder muttered, "To fight this far and survive, the name Terminator truly lives up to its legend."
"If he doesn’t die, isn’t it the hour for our soul’s demise?" The Fourteenth Elder lamented in deep sorrow.
"We’re destined to die miserably, wishing to eliminate the Terminator, we probably aren’t capable of it," the Eighth Elder chuckled bitterly.
The Great Elder and others were desperate; their long-awaited hopes were doomed to fail, dying with peace was no longer possible.
They yearned to drag the Terminator down with them, for a satisfying death, but in the end, this hope was impossible, looking at the scene now, Ye Fan wouldn’t die; instead, they would.
"Great Elder, Second Elder, are you ready to face death? Ah haha, ah hahahaha." Song Tianba laughed out loud, looking at the constipated expression on the Elders; he was utterly delighted, sparing no ridicule: "You must know, seeing you like this is tremendously fulfilling. Watching you die, dying alongside you, is exceedingly satisfying."
Song Tianba’s hatred towards Ye Fan was extinguished; instead, his hatred towards Sky Net blazed fiercely.
The feeling of being deceived like a fool drove him to madness.
"Song Tianba, you lunatic, our death, what’s the benefit to you? You can’t escape death either, what’s with your gloating?" The Eighth Elder criticized without caring for appearances.
"Of course, I know I can’t escape death, but what difference does it make?" Song Tianba spoke indifferently, "I’m just a small figure, compared to you all, the high and mighty Elders, I truly am insignificant. Watching you die is more exciting than anything; even in death, what does it matter? You’re dying first."
He was utterly smug, tossing thoughts of life and death aside, focusing only on the Elders’ fate.
Deceived bitterly, if he could watch the Elders die tragically, he would accept death willingly.
"You die unfulfilled; I die satisfied—nothing is more important than this." Song Tianba couldn’t stop laughing.
"Madman!" The Great Elder cursed under his breath.
Nonetheless, they had to admit there was logic in Song Tianba’s words.
Song Tianba hated them; watching their demise, he could die satisfied.
Song Meimei’s beautiful eyes shifted, wanting to check Ye Fan’s injuries to see how he was; yet after struggling, she still lacked the courage to approach him.
"It’s your turn," Ye Fan’s icy voice rang out, pointing the Slaying Blade at the Elders.
"You..."
"You, you, you..."
"Don’t come closer!"
Some Elders watched Ye Fan approach, scared out of their minds, trembling.
Ye Fan raised his blade and it fell, one Elder after another perished.
"I’ll fight you!" The Seventh Elder was the first to foolishly charge forward.
Ye Fan swiftly cut him down with a single slash.
Then, two more irrational Elders rushed up, and Ye Fan killed them too.
The Great Elder and others instinctively retreated step by step; if they could survive, none would choose death, truly reluctant to die.
