Chapter 2638: Chapter 880: The Governor Guards the Gates, the Duke Dies for the Nation—This Is the Will of Transylvania! (Part 2)

It has at least three days to command the army and launch a devastating attack on the Transia People without interference. Under the best conditions, it can crush the opponent’s morale and capture a section or two of the defensive line. 𝙧𝙚𝙚𝔀𝒆𝓫𝓷𝙤𝓿𝒆𝙡.𝒄𝙤𝓶

Although the biggest gunpowder depot was blown up, Huggesen still has some explosives to distribute among the elites.

But it must choose the most suitable point of assault to launch an effective three-day offensive. Even with nearly 400,000 people at its disposal, launching a full-scale attack against the long defensive line remains an unacceptable option, as that would mean dispersing the forces.

Huggesen glanced at the messenger and asked:

"Murphy’s command flag is near the battle line by the destroyed gunpowder depot, right?"

"Yes, Sir."

The messenger answered with its tail lowered:

"As I set out to report to you, the military governors nearby had begun advancing towards the evil leader Murphy’s position, hoping to break through the line and capture the vampire to atone to you.

Moreover, I have personally observed Murphy, the notorious and cunning leader of Transylvania, personally leading his People’s Army in defense at the position!"

"He went up personally? Hmm, looks like a signal..."

Huggesen nodded, pondered for a moment, then immediately summoned a trusted Grand Marshal, instructing him to take orders and leave with the messenger to command the battle at the central-western segment of the line.

Since Murphy graciously issued a war invitation against the Wolf People by stepping onto the battlefield, Huggesen was more than willing to respond with a clear and fierce reply.

If possible, Huggesen would prefer to lead the army himself to engage Murphy’s Transia People in battle. Unfortunately, Huggesen must remain here at the Klim Fortress, just as Murphy has a plan, Huggesen also has his scheme.

At the camp entrance, God’s Chosen looked up at the majestic fortress rising amid the mountains in the distance.

Since its establishment hundreds of years ago, this fortress, known as the "Unbroken Wall," has consistently protected the fertile and beautiful Kafuhoka Plains at the rear. Once symbolic of the Posya Confederation against the Black Disaster, it now belongs to Nordtof, a country blessed by the God of the North Wind, marked by the wolf, and involved in this war, appearing stronger than Transylvania but actually fragile from within.

Huggesen’s eyes gleamed with a cold light as he reached to grasp a wolf fang twinkling with starlight hanging before him, softly asking:

"So, how long do you still need?"

"The wolf pack is in position; I’m just waiting for an opportunity."

The voice of Silver Wolf Herson transmitted through the fang into God’s Chosen’s heart with a lazy tone, yet carrying a hint of unrestrained anticipation. She said:

"Keep the pressure on them, Huggesen. The Nordtof people will soon seek their god to grant them strength to combat the disaster, and in the instant when that divine power connects with my old father’s Divine Kingdom, at the moment it opens, that will be the moment of our glory.

I promise you earthly victory, and you must deliver divine defeat to me.

Forget about the cunning Murphy and his astonishingly resilient Transylvania. That poor, tough, unresting land of undead spirits isn’t worth pursuing. The Nord, led by a young girl, is obviously a more manageable colossus with feet of clay.

Trust me!

You will achieve a victory comparable to that of the King of Bone Biting."

"Hmm, I’ve been looking forward to it, Your Majesty."

Huggesen replied.

He released the wolf fang, actively severing communication, glanced again at the towering Klim Fortress ahead, wagged his tail, and turned to walk into the camp. A few seconds later, a loud explosion erupted ahead, and with the excited roars of the Wolf People, another outpost was taken by the Gnolls using engineer soldier tactics.

Mmm, bombs... they’re incredibly useful!

-----------------

"Boom!"

The Gnoll crawling out from underground didn’t have time to scan the surroundings before its head was pierced by a flying bullet.

But the demise of this henchman didn’t mean the calamity it brought faded away; the bombs strapped to the Gnoll exploded three seconds later, covering a corner of the position in thunderous fire.

Several People’s Army warriors fighting back with muskets were hit on the head with flying dirt and stones, bleeding heavily. They dared not lay down their weapons; they must keep firing, as hordes of armed Gnolls and their brutal masters were charging in a tidal wave before them.

Blood flowed like rivers on Murphy’s position.

Since last night’s swift and precise explosive attack executed by the players, the Wolf People’s anger-fueled counterattack swiftly followed. At dawn, the first wave crashed against Murphy’s line. Despite the heavy artillery’s bombardment, the vanguard Gnolls and Wolf People didn’t even reach Murphy’s blade before being blown apart.

But that merely marked the beginning of another bloody battle.

The heavy cannons atop the line continued firing bombardments. Every artillery strike created terrifying damage at the impact site, and the more agile field artillery kept launching precise barrage support, yet couldn’t stop the underground-advancing Gnoll engineer explosions. The berserker-skilled Wolf People Throne Wolf Riders rapidly exploiting loopholes to rush into the trench for surprise assaults between artillery reloads.
